  1. I normally break up payments into two if the situation calls for it. First half before I start their order and have them pay the second half before I ship. Too risky to send product without payment to people I've never even met before. Locally may be different, but it's up to you if you want to chase people for money. I'm sure you have better things to do!
  2. I'd look at the online restaurant supply stores. I recall seeing good prices on pouring vessels when I was pricing awhile ago.
  3. It almost looks like the paw prints were painted on and then it was dipped in some type of sanding coating. The texturing is really neat!
  4. I totally agree. The only thing I would add is that I do charge a one time fee to remove my business name. This covers the time it takes me to remove the information from labels. Normally they keep my label design and I add their business name on, but if they want a completely different look- that takes on a fee as well. I've also found on some products, I don't always give 50/50 wholesale depending on my pricing scheme. Some may be 60/40 or even 70/30. This is something to think about when you look at profits. If it makes more sense to raise the 'retail' and focus on private label or wholesale, you can fix those prices accordingly.
  5. Yay! It looks great! You know, I remember my first fair and I was so nervous (anticipating EVERYTHING) that I didn't even really people watch. I couldn't help but chuckle reading about your experience(s). So glad to hear you had a good time - wish I could have made it down!
  6. I wanted to see a burning photo too. Just to feed my own curiosity as to what they mean by the image stays while lit. They're cute!
  7. I was trying to bite my tongue in this thread, but this is the same guy I dealt with when talking about quality of service or lack thereof in another thread. Good luck dealing with this company. I tried to reach out and get a different CS rep, but I'm guessing it was ignored. Moving on...
  8. This is what I'm looking for! Bright, 'fuzzy' as you said. lol I have Peaks Georgia peach and didn't get it from bottle, but I'm going to put it in wax. Others mentioned here I'm willing to try too.
  9. My rule of thumb is no metal for products that could be naturally introduced to water (i.e. bath products). I haven't experimented with CS tins though, but still...I think I'd still keep to my rule.
  10. You know, I noticed something about shopping carts. There are many carts that don't save your items. I've had to resort to putting it in notepad and then ordering that way later on. lol I literally have two tabs open (have been for a few days now) that have FO's. Some I need and others I don't. I know I'm going to get them all and don't understand why I continue to torture myself. Someone mentioned something about enablers. FACT. Btw, DT's? Explain please?
  11. I have Peak's version, will have to go back and smell. I just ordered from AHRE, so will have to put that on next order. Thanks! *ets- that's what I wanna hear 2of7
  12. Im looking for something realistic, bright and juicy. What are your favorites?
  13. Hahaha! I know the feeling. I've had to stop myself several times only to wait a day or two and do it anyways. It's a sickness I tell ya!
  14. Yeah, I'd say a parasoy too. I bought one recently to see how it compares and the soy I've worked with, doesn't look that nice after it's been blown out and hardened back up. Looks like an HTP wick too. I got one of the small ones on sale.
  15. What does the maximum usage % say for the pumpkin pickin?
  16. I think a good way to look at coming up with a business name is as something you can trademark. You want something unique and ultimately, something that won't be confused with another company by a consumer. The following link might help you understand the ins and outs of trademarking a business name. http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/trademark-law-and-naming-your-business Having the same business name as another person isn't necessarily illegal. But, there are certainly lots of grey areas that could bring legal action against you. If in doubt, try a variation in spelling or skip the name completely.
  17. I realize PayPal is the norm in terms of sending/receiving money, but thought I'd mention another payment option that is more affordable (and keeps more money in your pocket). Dwolla. http://www.dwolla.com They're based out of Des Moines, IA. Quite a few businesses accepted their form of payment at my old stomping grounds. Rightfully so. It's free to accept money up to $10 and only $.25 above $10. It's free to send money.
  18. I'm sorry. Have you tried it with soy to compare?
  19. Recently was my third time ordering from them. I noticed that in my last order, the sales code wasn't giving the right percentage, but a phone call was all it took to get it sorted. As others have mentioned, they are more than willing to send samples of wicks for free. I haven't ever experienced longer than normal shipping schedules. But, then again, I've only ordered 3 times. I think any supplier is worthy of more than one shot.
  20. Oh noes! I almost wonder if they'd still be appealing for the eco-conscious folks. Keep them in the holder & bag them. Part of me wonders if the container sucks all the FO from the wax though too. What did you notice? Thanks for updating btw.
