  1. If you're using 100% soy, you should pour when it gets slushy.
  2. I had used HP tri-fold glossy paper but it's expensive $25 for 150 sheets now I just use Xerox Glossy paper from staples, it's on sale there 2 for $10 so that's 300 sheets for $10, glossy on both sides. You'd have to fold them yourself and this paper is thinner than HP tri-fold but so much cheaper!! It does say it's for laser printeres but I've used it with ink-jet with no problems if I let it dry before I handle it. Any glossy paper you'd have to let dry with ink-jet. Here is a link, I hope! http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesCategoryDisplay?jspStoreDir=Staples&catalogId=10051&productId=146686&cmArea=SEARCH&interceptedCatEntryId=146686&identifier=BI27499&prodCatType=0&langId=-1&storeId=10001&ddkey=StaplesProductDisplay
  3. You might consider getting a wick kit of CSN and LX wicks. I am getting ready to order and test 464 as well and am going to purchase several wick kits to test out each type. CSN kit is $7 and LX is $10. HTH
  4. Ditto on RA here too, I've tried ICS, WSP, JS, BCN. I like RA because it's the only one that has a hint of yeast, to me that really makes it perfect.

  6. I just made this recipe for Ho'ola Lotion http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_kukui.html The lotion is super thin!! Is there something I can do or add to it to make it thicker?? I'm not sure what I did wrong, I followed the recipe, I use a Vitamix blender. I put the bottles in the fridge thinking that would help them set up but no luck. I guess I can just use some in a spray bottle but I was wanting a lotion not a spray. I used 1 oz polysorbate, 1.2 oz of Natrasorb, 20 oz water, and .25 oz aloe gel, the rest I used the amounts listed on the formulary. TIA
  7. I second that! 6006 is great! I used this wax when I lived w/in driving distance of Genwax, I relocated to Portland OR and had to switch suppliers and wax, just too expensive!!
  8. Can you post the link to that candle company?? Ooops! I guess we posted at the same time!!!
  9. I get that too, on my soy tarts when I unplug the warmer, then they cool the top is very wavy, just hit it with a heat gun.
  10. What about SC Tahiti Sweetie B&BW Type? I love this scent in B&BW Tahiti Sweetie Blue Spa Lotion Tahiti, Sweetie (B&BW type) Fragrance Our latest fragrance duplication of a favorite from the ever-popular house of Bath & Body Works. Our interpretation of this refreshing tropical confection begins with top notes of mango and papaya atop a floral middle of jasmine and tiare flower, with just a dash of green geranium to keep the whole blend from becoming too sweet. Luscious in lotions, sumptuous in soap. A burning candle scented with our version of Tahiti, Sweetie would whisk you right off to the islands. BOTTOM LINE: A very interesting and supremely likable blend of tropical fruits and island flowers.
  11. Thanks! So that goes with other B&B recipes, oz are usually weighed?
  12. I have a recipe I'd like to try, Ho' Ola Lotion http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_kukui.html My question is ingredients are in oz t. and grams in one recipe. Are oz weighed or measured? I'm guessing I weigh the water since it calls for 40 grams. The other water phase things are listed in teaspoons, so just measure those. The oil phase are in oz so I don't know if I weigh or measure those. I do home fragrance so this is all new to me!! TIA
  13. I tried them a month back. I bought 4 scents in all 3 grades for testing. I found that the oils I get from RA to be better! I was trying to see if I could get the oils elsewhere and just forget ordering from RA since I have to order so far ahead of time from them. Even using their concentrated oil per their recommendations, I wasn't at all impressed. HTH
  14. I read somewhere on this forum that using the wooden roses as diffuser rods, causes the petals to fall off. The fo reacts with the glue.
  15. You can get a Logo and Lables creater, The Print Shop Labels & Logos, I think it's $20. They have a truckload of premade logos which you can just input your info in, done!
  16. I think I read they have a rule about not accepting free email accounts.
  17. Yes, it helps with leaking. I've never had a leak with the foam & metal washers. The metal tape works too, I bought some used molds and use them w/o leaks too. I pefer the jiffy wicker since I can wick in the mold.
  18. It doesn't say the scent is seasonal, so I'm sure it's available all year
  19. I use Warm Vanilla Sugar premium, from RA in my soy. It is so strong! I tested it at 1.5pp and it was so strong, not in a good way tho, eye watering strong. I cut back to only .5pp and added a little vanilla to try and cut the sugar smell. It helped but it's still super strong. When I have that scent on my warmer, the scent soaks into my clothes, hair, skin, sofa, drapes etc. I'll leave my house and I can still smell WVS on my kids hair and clothes!
  20. I use jiffy wickers, much cheaper than buying a bunch of wick pins! OR you can buy some foam and washers from home depot. I use bamboo skewers to secure the wick, no need for expensive bars. I have concave molds and like another poster said put them on a rack so they lay flat. Here is what they look like, but you can make your own for pennies. http://www.genwax.com/candles/___0___P0069756.htm
  21. I haven’t tried palm yet, but wouldn’t the spoon method work for getting air bubbles out? What I mean by that is while you’re pouring your wax into the mold/container instead of pouring directly in, you pour the wax onto the back side of a spoon (over the mold of course), when the wax hit’s the spoon it pops the air bubbles out. This spoon technique is used for removing air from casting and mold making. Or do the bubbles happen as the wax is setting up, in which case this wouldn’t work. On another note are these palm waxes? These waxes are described as crystalline veggie wax, I don't think palms are veggies tho. If it is palm why don’t they just call it palm wax, it's confusing enough deciding on wax!!!?? IGI 6010 & 6008 Crystalline Wax Made from 100% vegetable derived waxes from totally renewable resources. Strahl & Pitsch SP-486P A 100% pure vegetable wax. Hard crystalline texture, exceptional mold release, excellent fragrance loading capacity. Votive blend, pillars of all types, tart pans, balls, pyramids, etc. DO: Use cotton HTP wicks, pour hot for best effect (175-185°F)
  22. yeah I found that out on a Solas thread about expensive 1 lb shipping earlier this month, it was $11 to ship 0-16 oz so $13 sounds right since you're further out. I think they only offer UPS shipping too. You can try ups.com and see what the price would be to ship from Eugene OR to you, I'd imagine 1 lb fo in a box may be 1 1/2 lbs. I just calculated cost and for 2 lbs going from Eugene to NYC is $10.46.
  23. I was in Home Depot today and the paint cans range from $2-$3.88 quart & gallon sizes.
  24. It smells nothing like Pier 1, a monkey could have done a better job!! ANy one want to sample WSP, I got a pound going to waste here.
