  1. Along those same lines... Where can I purchase candle finishing products like theirs? Like the rub on luster wax or metalic rub on wax Description: Get creative and decorate your candles. This rub on paint is simple to use and helps give dimension and depth to your candle creations. Colors include walnut, sky blue, rosewood, silver blue, iris, cameo pink, golden white. And the candle dipping glaze Description: The very highest quality available! This glaze dries hard, fast, smudge-proof and clear without bubbles! Helps keep candles fingerprint and dust free! Makes candles damage resistent and provides a polished quality surface look
  2. You use it to raise the MP in other waxes. It's a tacky wax so I'm not sure about using straight for pillars, I would think it wouldn't release since it's sticky. You can use it to make this candle: see thread http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53215
  3. Same here, I'm but they're wondering why all the questions about those candles today, lol! Here is the response I got: Thank you for an interest in our products. Unfortunately, these candles are not made in a mold, they are extruded therefore, it is made with a die. We only have one and we can not sell it off.
  4. scentforum.com has 2 listed, no reviews. I checked fragrance oil finder but no results. Just buy a sample and test if you don't get any response here.
  5. Maybe you could contact Genwax directly and see if they have any of those molds for sale or even ask who their vender is. When I lived in So Cal I would buy their old molds $.75-$1 a piece. Very unique candle!
  6. I could never get labelsonline to work with my printer, 1.5" circle, no matter which way I printed them. I used my Print Shop program to move each and EVERY label over, millimeter by millimeter until they all lined up, I saved it. Now when I print labels I just pull up that label and change the scent name. They told me the ONLY compatible program was WORD. So I have since written them a nasty email, I ordered 1000 sheets, for the cost to ship them back I could have bought another case with free shipping from labelsonline, which by the way are the SAME as the Avery labels, no need to monkey around with moving margins. I would recommend buying labels that are same layout as Avery, less headache.
  7. I use 70/30 para/soy blend for my tarts (I use a container blend, like the low melt point for electric warmers), I use plastic milky way molds. I don't heat them, no problems with pitting or jump lines, I pour around 130. Creamy goodness when I demold them. As far as the mess goes, are you putting your tarts in a plastic bag/packaging before you put on a label? I put mine into a shrink bag, seal the open end and shrink it with a blow dryer, the tart is now covered in plastic, put lable on, no mess. I get mine from papermart.com $5.09 for 500 6x4 shrink bags, impluse sealer Harbor Freight $40. My tarts are pretty big so I use one bag for each, if your tarts are smaller you can cut the bag in half and seal the other end. Imo, I think the shrink wrap makes it look more professional.
  8. I make tarts and let them cure, soy/para. I've never used one that hasn't cured at least a week. I just thought since candles need to cure so do tarts. So I don't know either if they need to cure, I just do to be on the safe side. Since you're using soy I think that it needs to cure a bit but not 100% sure, can't hurt any!
  9. I've seen the 4 & 8 oz sizes at the 99 cent only store. Here is a link for locations. Mostly in Southwest. http://www.99only.com/locator/index.php
  10. I have Publisher but I prefer Print Shop Pro Publisher, for me it is much easier to use. I think Print shop is more user friendly if your not good with computers. Print Shop has 22,000 pre-made templates/layouts that you can use instead of trying to make your own. I think it's $100 got mine at compusa on super clearance when they closed all their stores. You can make brochures, booklets/catalogs, labels, logos, business cards etc. Here is a link for more info on this program: http://www.broderbund.com/shopping/search/searchresultsmain.jsp?fresh=1&searchType=advanced&iMainCat=0&iSubCat=0&attribute14=0&attribute15=0&attribute16=0&RS=1&keyword=pro+publisher
  11. I also poured the scents I'm using to compare to SOS (RA and BCS), same container, wick, wax, temp, humidity, pressure etc. I made them all on the same day to make sure ALL conditions were the same. I'm not only checking the difference between SOS grades but to also see how SOS scents compare to similiar scents from other suppliers. I wanted to know if the extra $ was worth it and just to see how it compares. Amy
  12. Today I poured my samples of SOS vs RA standard, in 70/30 parra/soy. I only ordered 3 scents from SOS and got them in all 3 grades, SOS, ultra and extreme. OOB SOS grade faint scent & plastic-y smell Ultra smelled much better Extreme smelled great came in glass bottle, smelled stronger than RA standard OOB Cold throw so far SOS, not impressed Ultra, ok Extreme, same as RA standard So far I am not impressed at all with SOS. Cold throw in extreme grades aren’t any stronger than RA standard grade, with RA having a stronger cold throw! We’ll see how hot throw does. I poured my excess into tart molds and plan on testing those while I wait for the candles to cure. I’m going to let them cure for a week. Will post hot throw results.
  13. Interesting, they don’t even carry nectarine!

  15. I meant to say I do for as often as I cook with it. I make on average one thing a year with Criso, if that.
  16. Wow, I have some 6006 that has been laying around on my patio for over 2 years, I live in the wet Northwest. I opened the cardboard box and it's just fine. If mold could be on anyone’s wax it should be mine, it wasn't even sealed or in plastic. I guess mine is just too old at this point. I'm not surprised you've got mold spots as a another poster mentioned the vegetable wax. Ever got mold on crisco, I do for often as I cook with it.
  17. levinegifts.com has Mosaic electric warmers, not sure if this is what you mean
  18. Here is a post http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54225 start at 50/50 and work from there, one poster does 75 container to 25 pillar. If you want a creamy look use more container or more pillar for a harder translucent look. Colors will be more pastel with each addition of container. More pillar will give you richer colors, more container will give you better hot and cold throws. If you’re going to be using a tea light burner use more pillar, electric burner use more container. Just make up a couple of batches say 50/50 then 60/40, 40/60, 75/25, 25/75. Let them cure for a week or more. Burn them, let the melt for an hour or so. Then stick your nose in and find the one that has the best throw. Info on comparing scent throw here: If you want a creamy look use more container or more pillar for a harder translucent look Colors will be more pastel with each addition of container. 19. I found that lower melt point waxes work good for electric warmers. If I use pillar wax for tarts on an electric warmer it doesn't melt all the wax. You may want to play with blending the two waxes to get a blend your happy with. I make my own blend from container and pillar wax. HTH Amy
  20. For super busy or lazy people like me you can buy the same kit, Digital Concepts on Amazon for $43.47 & FREE SHIPPING!! No Wal-Mart in the NW carries this and I'm 20 miles away from Wal-Mart to have it shipped to the store, plus I'm very lazy and gas is expensive! Tent area is 16x16x16 inside.
  21. I can't see the bigger pictures even with the link! It says something like yahoo pictures is ending. I wanna see the bigger pictures too!
