  1. They bought The Scent Review board years ago only to shut it down and put their version in its place. The real one was the first of it's kind on the net back in the day. There were long term friendships and it was a great source of info. Unfortunately they didn't get a lot of reviews and what they got wasn't usually all that complimentary. It was no surprise when they closed it...most suspected that's why they bought it to begin with. Many of us were heartbroken and many vowed to never buy from them again. I still miss it after all these years so all I can say is ain't karma a %^&*#.
  2. Anybody else have the melt pool from candles dyed with LS hot pink change colors on them? I don't mean slight fading...i'm talking major color change that stays even after the candle has cooled. I gave up on it years ago but would love a nice liquid hot pink that doesn't have a strong odor.
  3. Not too good to be true, just no longer selling crates. I alerted them today and found they are working on a new site that will replace the crate site and never dreamed anyone would still be trying to order after all these years. They are clearing the pages to prevent further confusion.
  4. Sugar Creek hasn't done crates in years. The site was closed last time I checked...not sure why it's up again.
  5. I agree. I've ordered from them for years and it's like a game now. It's not a problem with routine orders but during the scent event you have to have a game plan LOL. Make your list, check it twice and then allow no interruptions. If you time out, reward yourself with two new selections for your troubles and DO NOT get flustered and forget to put "SCOOP NEWSLETTER" in the correct place.
  6. I'm wondering whose base they carry. I got a few pounds to test and was very impressed with the low amount of sweating I got. I currently use a blend of SFIC low sweat and regular. Also the BC base seems harder. On the other hand, it has a scent that is stronger but easily covered with fo and it is a little more drying but since I use additives, that is not an issue. The ingredients list doesn't have the label appeal SFIC does but still I'm curious and would appreciate any thoughts on it.
  7. I don't suppose they will be taking phone orders. I put two of her scents in a fund raiser and while I'm not out completely, I will be in a couple of weeks. Keeping fingers crossed that they are back up and running by then. I don't usually get this low and know better. Guess I felt like living dangerously.
  8. When I'm having trouble getting labels lined up, I reuse the messed up ones for testing or a sheet that's had the labels removed. You can clearly see if you've moved stuff in the right direction. I ended up having to tweak each individual label on a sheet when doing that size. The bottom half is a lost cause unless I print half the page, flip it and print the other half. That's why I reserve the bottom half for warning labels. I feel for you. There is nothing more frustrating than label problems...well except that wonderful scent that will not be wicked successfully in this lifetime even though you've gone through at least four pounds of it trying over the years.
  9. A few years back Bluegrass carried a bourbon and a whiskey scent but I see they no longer have them. The whiskey was as close as anything I've smelled to the real thing and I think it would have passed. Shine is similar but it does have a note in there that smells like corn that has soured. I'd look for an alchohol scent, maybe even a wine. Hillbilly Homebrew has no alchohol to my nose so if they are looking for the real thing, it wouldn't work.
  10. She stated in her last post that the insulation is not fiberglass...it's cellulose which is more like paper.
  11. I would definitely try washing them...especially if they are just for your own use. You have nothing to lose and may be pleasantly surprised. After a good wash and a little drying time, I'd spray them well with alcohol. I was so sorry to hear what happened in Mena. What a shame that you lost your fragrance oils but I'm assuming you and your family fared ok. Hopefully you will find lots of new oils you'll love even more. I'd love to hear how your soaps turn out.
  12. I think she was playing with you. Tyler advertises in all the wholesale trade magazines. Of course things could have changed recently. Most shop owners are protective of their wholesale information.
