  1. I purchased Cookies & Cream Type all 3 strengths to compare to RA’s value. Peach Supreme all grades to compare to RA’s value juicy peach. French Vanilla Supreme in all 3 to compare to Vanilla Velvet from BCN/S. White Musk Type Ultra to compare to RA’s value. Princess type Ultra. $80 including shipping for 2 oz sizes. I’d imagine it would take a week to ship them. Another week to cure. I am using 70/30 paraffin soy blend. Amy
  2. I am wanting to get a scent replicated because I can’t find a dupe for it. The only company I know of that does that is Royal, send 1 oz and $250, then buy at least 5 lbs of it. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and how the results were or other companies that offer this service. I also heard chemessence does it for free but I don’t have experience with their oils and they don’t take credit cards or Paypal, turn off! I would love to add this oil to my line but want to get more info on the best place to get it done. TIA Amy
  3. Tell me about it! I was on Yankees site yesterday and almost ALL their containers had wet spots!
  4. I have never purchased from saveonscents, however I'm intrigued by their concentrations. Has anyone purchased these higher concentrations. Is it worth it? Do the higher concentrations give you a stronger throw and longer lasting scent?? This is what I am referring to: SOS, regular concentrate Ultra Concentrate, 50% Stronger Extreme Concentrate, 125-250% Stronger I’m going to get a few sample scents in all 3 grades. Will post results if anyone else is interested. TIA Amy
  5. You may want to try water slide decals. It works something like a temporary tattoo. I looked into doing it that way but was on a time deadline. Do a search for them to find the cheapest supplier, most sites also have instructions on how to use them too. You may not get the desired glow if you’re using a soy pillar. I don’t think you’d get enough light through with a soy pillar. Paraffin looks really nice since it’s translucent. If you want all natural maybe palm has more transparency. I’ve not worked with palm yet. HTH Amy
  6. You are right topofmurrayhill. 474 is 416 with 8% Universal Soy Wax Additive, per thecandlemakersstore. You may need to petition them to carry the soy additive or find another suppiler for that. HTH Amy
  7. Thanks Pam! BTW, I was reading some old posts about your rubber embossed inserts. I'm sure you don't have any to sell, so I won't bother asking But would you sell me a candle? I make silicone molds... would love to make a mold from it! TIA Amy
  8. Yes' date=' I used paraffin, NO vybar, a little stearic. Soy is too opaque . I glued them on with Elmers.
  9. I have made photo hurricanes. Some will tell you to put a very cold wet washcloth upagainst the mold where the photo is. This can be found on the left click techniques & ideas, click on embedding photos in candles. But after lots of testing, I just gave up and glued the photo on and overdipped it! It worked! In your case with a pillar overdipping would be easier, with a hurrican shell it was hollow so I had to ponder how I could dip it all the way fast enough without drips and drags. I poked a hole in the middle of the bottom of the hurricane, then threaded a pre-tabbed wick up through it, but holding the wick made the candle wobble. So I fulled the hurrican void area full of dry beans to act as weights and make it stable. Then I did a quick dip. HTH Amy
  10. Thanks Pam I have made rustic pillars before, however they didn't have layers like yours. I think I found an earlier post about rustic layer pillars Thanks again Amy
  11. OMG! Those are amazing! How do you make them? You said you learned it all from here, got a link? Wow! Amy
  12. What kind of mold is it? If it's silicone you can line it up and wrap a rubber band around it, silicone sticks to silicone so you need not worry about leakage.
  13. I'm guessing BW is Backwoods? I use a combo of Cinnamon Buns from ICS and Cinnabon from RA. ICS has the best in my opinion but the one from RA has a lot of yeasty bun smell, so I mix them to get a good balance. I also have added Cinnamon Stick from JS, VERY cinnamony so just a few drops. JS is a good since they test with soy. I haven't been disappointed with any of my oils from ICS RA or JS, they've all worked beautify for me. HTH Amy
  14. Have you ever tried Lebermuth? Here is a direct link to closeouts. Range from $5-$9. There is a $150 minimum BUT the quality of the oils are unmatched. Biggest draw backs are the minimum and only having a limit amout. But if you're looking for deals and don't mind the minimum... Great hot and cold throw, I'm using soy no problems yet. http://www.lebermuth.com/close_outs.php Amy
