  1. I would be offering them my wholesale pricing only. 144 candles wouldn't qualify for a wholesale discount (in my business). Considering they are a huge brewing company, I doubt they will ask for one either. If they do, I'd simply say that their order size doesn't qualify for any discount on your wholesale price. In the meanwhile, you may want to think about whether you want to offer a discount and at what $ level. FYI, my wholesale candles accounts have never asked for a wholesale discount -- and their orders are typically in amounts over $5K each time. Congrats! Sounds like a fun account!
  2. Scratching head, and pondering possible motivation for a NO answer? That said, how would you even know? <heading off to plot purchase...>
  3. Damn fine work, Top.......damn fine! :highfive:
  4. Sorry for your challenges. If you can't do the B&B, perhaps you could try your creative hand at candles? EDITED TO ADD: I didn't read your post correctly. LOL. I see you are already making candles.
  5. WOW............Merry Christmas to you! LOL Should we start keeping our eye on the Classifieds? LOL

    M&P base

Tamtam -- I don't know where you are located, but Brambleberry (WA) sells SFIC bases.
  7. I agree. There is no way you can avoid some shrinkage. Because of the water content, you will have a certain amount of evaporation that can't be avoided (even if your soaps are wrapped). My soap often sits for a week or more before the logs are cut and wrapped, and I live in a high humidity climate. My studio sits one block off the ocean.
  8. Raising hand for #2. I would save the cow-over-the-moon for a kids line if you ever do one.
  9. Looking at your business name, I like the raffia better than a ribbon or cord. If you do decide to use raffia, be sure you use the synthetic kind if you are planning to wholesale. The real thing takes quite a beating in a retail environment. Ask me how I know. LOL. BTW, the jar and candle look lovely!
  10. Exactly what I was gonna say! I LOVE the jar with it's random swirl pattern! Great job!
  11. Exactly. In an electric burner, they are perfect for a location where an open flame may not be appropriate.
  12. I'd probably be writing a letter to the Principal and copy the Superintendent of Schools making him aware of how poorly this event was run. Of course, it would be written in a professional and concerned manner (not as a bitchy vendor/participant). Fundraisers are difficult enough for schools to conduct nowadays, but to have one run into the ground because of poor organization and/or follow-though is unacceptable. I realize these events are run by volunteers, but come on, this isn't rocket science. Seriously.
  13. I believe that alot depends on the base you choose in the first place.
  14. I make them all, but the only one that I sell is M&P. It was the niche in my market when I first started my business, and has remained so. I can put out gorgeous CP/HP bars, but customers flock to the intricate artistry of the M&P bars. LOL.
  15. I use SFIC base. I add 1 T pp of a Kukui Nut Oil & Vit E blend. I personally found that the SFIC base lathers much better for me than the BCN base. Ingredients can be very different from base to base. That said, I also found that when you start to exceed the 1 T pp of additives, you will begin to diminish the lather.
  16. I ended up with an extra lotion bar, and some lotion. They're yours if you'd like them. Just PM me your addy and I'll pop it in the mail. My treat.
  17. Thanks for your compliments everyone. Unfortunately my Mom and I live about 6000 miles apart, so I won't get to see her expression when she opens the box. She had asked me a couple years ago when she was visiting if I could get this fragrance. At that time, I could find no suppliers. Then, Scent-Works began offering it in June. I also sent her a sterling silver atomizer with a dry bodyd spray, and 2 lotion bars along with the other items. She should be set for a while. LOL.
  18. Those are superb! Outstanding job! Your sisters are sure lucky.
  19. Great! What a nice holiday present for you!
