  1. I've never had an hesitation in them getting back with me. I would try calling if it were me.
  2. Look in your Yellow Pages under "business brokers".
  3. I tried that same spray originally, but found I got the same results with the$1.26/can clear spray paint from WalMart -- so I switched. If you do lots of labels, you may want to experiment with the cheaper stuff, too.
  4. [quote=KristinesShower;353415) I think all of us as candlemakers should take a stand and say we will not charge less than "X" for all jelly jars starting in 2007. Those of you charging so little are killing your own businesses & making it hard for the rest of us to charge a fair price./ I couldn't agree more. I s*&% when I see some of the devalued pricing that candlemakers and B&B makers charge. Grrr......... It really makes it hard for me to sell in my market -- where my costs are way, way, way higher (supplies, rents, etc) than what mainland locations run. I Hate the tourist who tells me they can get that same candle at home for XYZ. Okay....then buy it at home -- but don't go telling it's recipient that it came from Maui.
  5. GREAT JOB! Pics are wonderful, and it's easy to navigate. Congrats!
  6. I think the PO has a 10 ft rule (or something similar). Meaning -- you should be able to drop your package from a height of 10 ft and it should not be damaged/break. They can deny your damage claim if they deem that your parcel is not appropriately packaged. I would never attempt to send a glass container candle out in a padded envelope. It needs the strength and security of bubble wrap and a box. JMHO. Considering you can get boxes free from USPS, I'd go that route for sure.
  7. Aloha Tia, Sounds like your printer ink and the labels you purchased have an incompatability of sorts. I use the waterproof labels from Elements Bath & Body. Their waterproof capability is outstanding, however, my labels will fade (I have a photograph on my label) over time -- especially if exposed to lots of natural daylight. I found the solution was to give a quick coat of clear spray paint across my labels after they were printed. I have no fading since doing so. Perhaps its something you may want to try?
  8. Anna, I'd stick with your tried and true. I find that my FO's incorporate much better at higher than pouring temps, and quick frankly, having FO's 'burn off' is insignificant unless you are adding them at much higher temps than you are.
  9. Ya know, this is one of the reasons why I used my own original photograph for my logo. I knew I would never have someone knocking on my door one day. Good call Di in Az, you handled your dilemma professionally. :0
  10. The last Pier 1 candle I ever owned was a gift in a gift exchange; they didn'tknow I was a candlemaker). It had an approx a6 inch diameter and was about 8 inches tall -- 3 wicks. Quite beautiful, and the rustic finish was eye-catching. That said, when DH and I burned it, all wicks tunneled, and the candle was only wicked about half-way down. We were left with this big chunck of crap.
  11. Our USPS shipping slowed down here about two weeks ago. Suddenly a package that would take 3 days to California, started taking six. Seems early this year. I like the new feature that USPS site has started that allows you to select the choice to have your package (Delivery Confirmation) scanned on acceptance at the post office, instead of only when it was received by the recipient. It's nice to be able to prove to your customer that you actually mailed the package. UPS and Fed Ex are terrible, terrible, terrible where I live, so USPS gets all my business.
  12. When I did scrubs, I used to use plumbers tape. It's a thin, white stretchy plastic tape (not a sticky tape) that you stretch tightly around the jar threads a couple times. When you screw on the lid, you won't have any leaking. Works like a charm.
  13. Just a quick alcohol spritz, and let it air dry.
  14. ??? Where is she located? I've never heard of such a thing. Ever. If she is going to sell, however, she will need a business license (or whatever it is called in her state/city/county/municipality).
  15. I'll be curious to see how it turns out. I use mica in my M&P to give the "water" a lusterous look.
  16. We do the 4 oz deep tins, and sell the heck out of them.
  17. Jane, I see that they are not mentioned, however, they do come with the liners. You could always email, just to confirm that the liners are included. And no -- they do not come as a separate item.
  18. Aloha Chauna, Do you have any other programs besides word that you could create this in? I'm thinking like MS Publisher or Print Shop, etc. Word can be very limiting compared to some of the other programs, especially if you're wanting to work with lively fonts, sizes, and pics. (JMHO).
  19. In my state, you have to show the tax as a separate value from the total of goods sold. You may want to check and see what your particular state laws call for.
  20. Oh FCS......why do you even go there Nicole, if your'e not looking to start a paraffin vs soy war? ? Pretty pathetic move. Don't even get me started.
  21. ...off to contact my ceramic 'friends'.... Thanks!
  22. Excellent idea, Robin. I would do it if my customer wasn't a traveler who had weight, space and breakage considerations. If I lived on the mainland, I'd do it in a heartbeat. BTW.how's the redhead? seen her lately?
