You are right kandlekrazy..it does seem to be isolated and just certain FO's.. I also think it might be the change of weather...

Stella, I don't color my candles..I also don't add anything to the wax, other than the FO..I will pay more attention to the FO's that is causing this..

another place is specialty bottle supply... I bought 1 round and 1 square just to test.. I can't compare them to WSP but they seem nice and heavy to me..

I agree with both of you...Why>>. Top...because I am having problems with my 100% Golden Brand soy growing too. Not all FO want to keep growing..but some of them do..and I agree..it is not fun to have made, tested and tested to get a nice looking candle and one that smells great...store it and go back in 3 wks or so and can't see the wicks... Stella..because I like the idea of soy too...why...I guess because It is supposed to be cleaner for our environment...and there are probably untruths to that too.. So I am open to any information..I guess I am confused about what to do about this problem...Do I keep making soy candles and have to keep hitting the tops with the heat gun??? could it be my climate where I live??..Does very many of you ladies have this problem? Do you add additives to keep it from happening...Or are the ones having the problem doing something wrong, with the way we make our candles??

I have tested some of Berts oils...I use GB 100% 415 Candy Cane...In 15 min. I could smell this in half of my house..It is not a real sperment smell, but softer, and has a sweetness to it...really really good... Vanilla Latte...I have tried several coffee smells and this is my favoite..just enought vanilla to make it sweet.. Fall Harvest...This is another one I really like...it will float all thru my house... I think I smell some apple in this one.. Lemon biscotte pie..is delis..a good HT for me.. Pumpkin custard spice...I just love this one... Redwood and Cedar..I believe this is one of my favoirte scents..I know when you see the name you think maybe a mans scent ..but this lady sure loves it. Fig & Melon...I know that name may not be a name that draws people..but this is one great FO..I really really like it...I want to come up with a different name, that catches more attention... Black Raspberry Vanilla...I just love this one to..I don't get as strong HT in a big room..but like in a bedroom and bath it is good..but I did make my first CP soap with this FO and I had no discoloration at all..and It has been almost 2 weeks sence I make it..and it smells wonderful in my soap... Oatmeal cinnimon crunch Bar..This has a very good HT..not to sweet, but still enough to make it a good bakery scent... Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle...you can definatly smell the choc and raspberry..It has a good HT too.. Creme Brulee...This is one great Creme Brulee...the HT is awsome... Caramel Apple ..has a very good smell, It's HT is not real strong..but in a smaller area it really smells good... Christmas Pear...I rushed my test burn on this one alittle but it really has a good HT..could definatly smell the pear...

You are in the same boat I am in..lol This little town I live in has nothing.. I envy those that live in towns that has good supplies..that is until I go to one of those big towns..then I am happy to just go home and order online......

I also use 2 wicks in 4" jars..the size I use depends on the FO. I use from size 10 to 16.. If you are using a smaller diameter jar just experiment..

its a straight cranberry...wonderful smell...before burning.. I am going to cure alittle longer..

Does anyone know why? Or what to do if you get it? I have one that smelled OFB great But when I burned it..very very fuel.. I only cured 1 wk. could that have an effect on it..

I feel just like Sharon...I have tried every wick that I know of except zinc... and I always go back to Cd wicks...I have finally came to the point if a FO dosn't work in my 100% I just go on to the next FO. I also have tested alot lately that does not throw well...or I just don't care from them..

I Just wanted to report on Bert's Candy Cane..I made it last Thursday..I decided to test burn it today...and I have to say WOW..in less that 15 min. I can smell it over half of my house...This is really a good Candy Cane smell..not to minty with a touch of sweet..It's a winner for me..in my 415...

I am not sure as I have never used that type of wax. But what I do know, from all I have read if a FO willl work in soy...It will most normally work well in another type of wax.. And Bert really does have some good oils.

I found that using a credit card to go between the soap and mold will help loosen it..but I only did this after it had sat for a day..

So micas will work in CP.. Scented? I thought I had read somewhere where they didn't work.. I surely don't know..I am so new to this,,, and I am like you..they cost alot..lol so I would like to get the best option..for me..

I have been looking at all the colorants, and to be truthful..I feel like a termite in a yo-yo..I hate to buy, and then find I choose the wrong type..What would you ladies suggest? Any help would be appreciated.. I have seen so many of your soaps, and they look so pretty..I made my first cp soap but didn't have any colors, but I want to color some of mine.

I used Berts..Heaven Scent ..FO..So far there is no change in color... I am only speaking for what I have read here on this board, on how it performed..not on my own experiance..If I had some colors, I would have, had plenty of time to do swirls or what ever..To me it was very good...Thanks everyone for all this nice words..for a newbie..
