I have been wrestling with a container candle - its in a big wide tea cup type thing, that measures approx 5.5" diameter. I started off with 2 LX wicks, can't find the peice of paper with the size on dohhh, then when that obviously wasn't touching it rewicked it with 3 LX20's, that wouldn't take the melt pool to the edges either....so, rewicked again with 4 LX20's. Its been burning now for 3 and a half hours and the melt pool is very near the edge but ONE of the wicks has mushroomed. 1. Has the melt pool grown too quickly on a first burn? 2. What does mushrooming indicate usually. I know it may mean a few things but could it mean I need to wick down to LX18's or something? Seeing as the melt pool grew to 5 inches diameter in just over 3 hours, i thought the wick may be too big. Please help. Anjie,x. Edited to add - preblended paraffin container wax, 1% hot Fudge Sundea F/O, and 1 'shaving' off of a vanilla dye block. So not really over f/o'd or over loaded on colour.

What is their wax like though? I don't want to sound like a snob here, because I don't mean to, because i'm not LOL! Far from it! BUT... I stopped buying wax from Hobbycraft because its a craft store, and we all know that the majority of things from craft stores are not of great quality. OK for hobbyists but I want to eventually get into this as a business (SHE SAYS!!!) and want a supplier of a quality wax as cheap as possible. I've been told to buy from 'specialist' candle suppliers to get the best. If you know what I mean :embarasse Anjie,x.

OMG!!! THE HYPNOTISM IS WORKING!!!!! *LOL* Seriously though, can you get a mixed pallet? or does it have to be a whole pallet of one style of jar? I tend to go for jars that are (here I goes about to sound like a loon!) round and cute and chubby! I like ball shaped jars, like globe jars, ohh and those ones that have little 'kind of' handles on the sides, love the studio and turreen jars too I would definately be interested!! Seeing as you are close enough for me to pick em up *ROFL*, I would be willing to pay that bit extra too, to make it worth your while. How many jars to a case? or does it depend on the jar? Do you know what type of jars your supplier offers? Anjie,x.

I decided not to order from British Wax because I would had to have ordered the slabs of wax to get it a few £ cheaper than the same amount of beaded wax from Full Moons, so i'll go with Full Moons and pay a tad extra for the convenience of the pelleted wax - hope that made sense LOL. For 25kg of slab paraffin wax (58-60C) it worked out £1.59 a kilo, plus VAT plus £7.70 postage. And for the same amount of beaded it was £1.69 a kilo when buying 25kg plus VAT and postage. Container paraffin wax is £2.35 a kilo if buying 25kg and £3.05 a kilo if buying 10kg. Plus the dreaded and postage. They do soya wax too but there's too many listings to type on here, I tried posting the whole list but it messed up! Anjie,x.

Ahhh right. Thanks for that explanation, makes things a tad clearer - i think! LOL. My parcel isn't coming fedex or UPS so fingers crossed. My hubby told me this morning that certain things are exempt from duty and to look it up online, but i gave up after sifting through loads of crap that I don't understand Anjie,x. and Nat Look into my eyes, not around my eyes, into my eyes, when I click my fingers you will be under my control (clicks fingers) "BUY THE GLASS!! Nat - so if it's not parcelforce delivering but USPS, do they still charge the same or does it vary from courier to courier?? So..its VAT plus Duty plus £8 (maybe) for delivering. How much is duty, or is that included in the vat?? Damn, Friday morning and my brain hasn't yet kicked in!!!! And is it worked out on the $ value or the £ - did that make sense LOL! I have a parcel coming, with cool moulds yayy, the moulds and stuff came to $28 but was $60ish with shipping - how much am i likely to get stung for if i get stung? Hi there, I know this has been discussed before but I can't for the life of me find the thread! I am desperate to get some square candle tins from SKS in the states but they are quoting me $118+ shipping alone for a case of 36 small tins!! I can get glass shipped cheaper than this!!! The man emailing me said they will only use UPS which is expensive but they don't break stuff like USPS do *LOL* He also told me I could open an account with UPS (no point for one shipment!) or get me a forwarder Here's the question - does anyone on here provide this service? I'm willing to pay a fee of course. I'm not big on trusting people I don't know, so if its someone who comes recommended by others on here, or a long time member, then thats great. If anyone can help I would be REEEEALLY greatful Anjie,x.

Can some body pleeeeeeeeaaassse tell me how you work out the wick spacing for a 3 wick 'cup' candle. I've just poured one and stuck the wicks where i thought they looked evenly spaced, but now it just doesn't look right. Is there a way of getting these right everytime? Is there a way of making a template? I'm at a loss *LOL*..... "nothing new there" i hear you shout Anjie,x.

Seeing as your pics are already loaded up to photobucket, don't you just have to click on the IMG link under the picture (the 3rd one down). With me I click on the and it says copied automatically, then I just paste on here. And to resize on photobucket, if your pics are too big, you just click EDIT above the pic you want to resize, then select the little RESIZE button above the pic and it gives you the option of 'thumbnail', 'web - email', or 'message board' size. I got some dye chips from sensory perfection, they are called 'cinnamon red' and I was really impressed with the bright but deep red i got from them. But thats not powder so not much help to you dohhhh. Anjie,x.
