  3. LOL! luv it! Hi NattyCat, I'm in the Medway Towns - Gillingham to be precise. Go on, tell me you are in the same town *rofl* thats happened to me before - sure is a small world!! Anjie,x.
  4. Hi again. Last night I made my first container, I used a cheap glass tumbler from Sainsburys it is 3.5" in diameter. Paraffin container wax from Candlelights, Cinnamon Strudel f/o (to die for!!), coloured red with dye block. The wick i used was either NT32 or NT35 - yes like a silly cow I forgot to take a note of which one!! Dohhhh. Anyhoo, after burning it for nearly 3 hours now I sooo very nearly have a full melt pool (YAYY) BUT although the flame isn't overly large or too small, and definately isn't smoking, its flickering! I have checked for a draught and there is none. Is this just one of those things or does it indicate a problem? How long should it take to get a full melt pool on a container this size? And if I don't get one have i failed ..... sob, sob. Anjie,x. OHHHH CRAP!! Just realised i posted in wrong section dohhhh! Can someone move this to General for me please - and i apologise profusely!!
  5. LOL! I've heard about women like you You wanna be careful! You can get arrested for accosting posties and rumaging in their sacks I too am waiting on a big delivery from Sensory, bigger bottles of the ones i really liked :bliss: plus a 'few' extra 50ml's to try (hehe shhhhh don't tell hubby!!) Anjie,x.
  6. Hobbycraft fo's are PANTS! compared to the stuff I get from sensory perfection and soapsudz. You just have to try some of the proper stuff to see the difference in throw, its amazing. Anjie,x.
  7. OK, forget that question. It doesn't need a repour *LOL*. this is such a lovely wax to work with. It's left a lovely smooth shiny top to my container - i'm soo pleased. Wish i could take a pic and show it off but can't at the moment. OMG I made a container yay, now to test it ....... *super banana* Anjie,x.
  8. oh wow! They are soo cool. Lurve that hot-cross bun looks yummy. Anjie,x.
  9. I received my new wax this morning YAY superfast delivery i like it!! Has anyone else used this wax? I have just poured my first EVER container candle and it looks like its not going to need a repour. Its been cooling, wrapped in a tea towel for about an hour and a half and no sinkage yet. Does this sounds right? Or has it still got time to sink? lol. Don't know how long they take to cure completely. When i light this container is it supposed to melt the wax all the way to the glass? ohhhhh exciting!! :whoohoo: Anjie,x.
  10. WOW! I like those. I think i's getting the 'melts' bug too Anjie,x.
  11. I've got those!! LOL I'm gagging to use them but they are my sons and he has banned me!!! Oh well, when he gets bored Anjie,x.
  12. LMFAO! I'm glad i'm not the only numpty on here! I felt pretty stupid too - but thats cause i am Anjie,x.
  13. Is it not like mine then and have a slideing clip that you can adjust to fit any pan/jug? I was having to hold mine at first until i realised that the click slid down the thermometer dohhhhh. Anjie,x.
  14. I think it sounds great (both of them) - and that you should go make it now so we can see it Anjie,x.
  15. Thank you! I know exactly what you mean now, perfectly explained. Anjie,x.
  16. Wooooo I think that looks fab! What a fantastic effect And the fact that it wasn't intentional makes it even more special, its a one off. Anjie,x.
  17. I posted earlier on saying that I used a pyrex jug in a pan of boiling water to melt and pour my wax from. Well, I thought about what Ian said about glass being a poor conductor of heat, and bought a metal melting jug today and WOW!! The amount of time I have wasted sitting waiting for wax to melt!! It melts soooo quickly in the metal jug, I was very pleasantly surprised. So thanks Ian, you've just saved me sh** loads on my gas bill *LOL*. Anjie,x.
  18. This is probably going to sound like an extremely stupid question - but i think you should ask no matter how stupid you sound *ROFL* Here goes......... What are wet spots? I hear you talk about them, but don't know what they are?? Are they patches of wax that doesn't set properly, or, or, or, shiny patches that look wet??? Someone please put me out of my misery! Anjie,x.
  19. I was expecting to be slapped with a customs charge but was lucky and got away with it. My moulds came via Air Mail, and still would have worked out cheaper than buying here WITH the customs fee added so i'm happy but yes, its something you have to take into consideration. Anjie,x.
  20. I use paraffin, and no I don't put anything in the mould before pouring and they turn out soo easily! Anjie,x.
  21. I really like those! Fantastic colours, really easy on the eye. very nice. You have got your stripe blending down!! :highfive: If you were adding fragrance, which one would it be? They look fruity to me Anjie,x.
  22. I don't have a debit or credit card, so have probs buying from US. THeres a couple I've seen on ebay UK at the moment, that are only at £2-3. If I sent dollars cash to US that would cost more to exchange than to get them here probably. Wick'n'Wax, if you win something on ebay from the states and its only a few £'s then I would be willing to pay for it on my credit card if you sent me a postal order. Anjie,x.
  23. ooooops *runs and hides* !! Sorry 'bout that LOL, I mean errrrrn, No, No, Wasn't me  , you must be thinking about someone else Anjie,x.
