  1. Thank you!! I was actually going to melt it down and do it again with some brown streaks in it - but it grew on me LOL. And its all I can smell when i open my front door Mmmmm. Anjie,x.
  2. Click on Donita's link there, at the bottom of her post. They're...... what's the word??? Awesome!!!!!! Fantabulous!!!!! Anjie,x.
  3. WOW Wick!! Now that I like, yes i do Well done it looks fab! I've just sent off for Donita's tutorial on tide pool candles soo excited! can't wait to get! Anjie,x.
  4. Full Moons Couldron (in the UK) for candle supplies?? I've been comparing wax prices from suppliers in the UK and these have come up the cheapest. I can get 20kg of beaded unblended paraffin for £33.44!! Thats £41.29 delivered! I thought that was a bargain, more than a tenner cheaper than I usually pay. I just wondered if anyone had used their wax and could vouch for the quality? Can anyone also recommend and good line in wicks, i've got the LX's but wanted to try a different series that's good for parrafin pillars and containers. Ones that are available in the uk preferably. Full Moons Couldron do a multi purpose wick i might try out - not sure though. Anjie,x.
  5. Glad the awkward little sods decided to emerge! Way to go, you showed them who's boss Anjie,x.
  6. Awwwww, well done! That looks great! Can't you repose them after they have been dipped?? Anjie,x.
  7. Wick, I know!! But I cheated :neener: I made 4 and one is still sitting on my fireplace LOL. Here's my latest, and omg the cold throw on it is amazing!! Coffee caramel creme. Yu u uuuum. I love this sent. Not too sure on the colours though, the 'sand' colour turned out much lighter than it looks in chip form. I've got some marzipan fo to try out, might try some stripeys. And thanks Smokin' Anjie,x.
  8. LOL I thought it was about time i started testing them instead of just looking at them I got the LX wicks from www.candelights.co.uk along with my wax. When I said 'bulging out the side' i meant that the wick was too big a started to melt the candle out the side - at the top. It started collapsing out the side and left a bulge. Anjie,x. ETA: Yes my phone takes great pics! Although I am still crap at taking them *LOL* Sony Ericsson K800i, its got the 3.2 megapixel Cybershot camera on it.
  9. Thank you!! I think they had been burning there for just under an hour, they were the 3 I made for testing, the small one had an LX20, the medium an LX22 and the big an LX24, after 2 hours they were all looking good but on the 2nd burn the LX22 and 24 started bulging out the side of the candles, the LX20 is still being burnt though and going good. Anjie,x.
  10. Well, finally got my pictures off of my phone Here goes, hope this works. Warm vanilla sugar and Strawberries and cream. The one on the far right was my first attempt at rustic, not so rustic though, just full of holes! Smells devine though - Blueberry cheesecake yumm. Very first rustics that actually came out rustic lol. Again, Strawberries and cream. Go easy on me i'm new to this Anjie,x.
  11. yeah, I got that impression I've used a few obscenities at poor defenceless candle moulds myeslf. Anjie,x. p.s. Hubby's just got my piccies off of my phone will be posting some candle pics soon yayy.
  12. I think you are going to have to try and melt the candle out to save the mould. The best way to do that I don't know, maybe rest it in some hot water for a bit. Goodluck with that. And LOL @ the shouting at it Anjie,x.
  13. Plastic moulds are a pain in the butt LOL. I have a few I bought from Holland, and they are fab, but the clear plastic ones you get in craft shops grrrrrrrrrrrr!! Have you tried gently pushing the insides of the mould away from the wax? I had to do that with my plastic star mould, it came out eventually - but I had a wick to pull on. Also, be very careful with these in the oven, if they aren't polycarbonate they melt - i found out the hard way *rofl* I no longer have a star mould Anjie,x.
  14. WOW Starless, those are both beeeyutifool !! How many pouring jugs do you have?? Do you mix up each colour in a seperate jug?? Very impressive - i's jealous, yes I am! Well done Wick - got any pics of the other candle you made? I lurve looking at candle pics Anjie,x.
  15. So, do you mix up the whole 16oz bottle and use in one go, or can you keep it stored once its mixed with the cutting oil? Sorry for all the questions, i'm just interested. Anjie,x.
  16. Wick, Gingerbread, butterscotch vanilla and choccy chip cookies yum. My hubby's taken the boys out to race the rc car, Taz is stuck infront of the tv and baby is asleep i feel a coffee hazelnut creme pillar coming on hehe. I really need to get another metal pour/melting pot!! Anjie,x. p.s. If the moulds you got are the plastic ones on the coloured square bases - be careful of using strong colour and fo's in them!! They stain like its no ones business and you just can't get it off! Some fo's leave the inside of the mould feeling rough too.
  17. Oh wow! How do you make incense sticks exactly?? Anjie,x.
  18. Mine turned out absolutely fantastic! I am SHOCKED to say the least. I really thought these were going to bugger up lol. OK I have to get some pics. Off to charge up the batteries of my camera. Anjie,x.
  19. yayyyyyyyy go fer it :highfive: LOL Anjie,x.
  20. If you are talking about the hard plastic tray kind of moulds, then i just tip mine upside down and the embeds/tarts fall out when they are ready. And I never grease the mould, it never needs it. HTH. Anjie,x.
  21. But doesn't using a waterbath give a shiny surface to the candle?? Or am I mistaken on that one? Anjie,x.
  22. Awwww, don't do anything rash like selling all your 'stuff'. Keep at it or give it a break for a little while. You may well turn that corner and be happy with what you produce again. **hugs** Anjie,x.
  23. WOW! That reminds me of one of those ice lollies, without the sprinkles on . Good job, that looks pretty. And you got i rusticy at the top Anjie,x.
  24. yayyy well done you! Can't wait to see a pic I haven't umoulded mine yet, the sides of the moulds are still a bit warm, so they can wait until tonight. Dreading this one, i've never been able to get layers right yet. They always look pants . Let you know later what they turn out like. I might even dig out the digi camera and see if the batterys charge, then can post a pic. Anjie,x.
  25. yes but it only has to be a few degree's hotter LOL. Was the 170 your repour after sinkage?? Anjie,x. ohh just reread your post Dohhh you didn't do the 170 pour!
