  2. Does anyone have an"idea" on what type of wax they may use? It looks to me like a para-soy...just wondering if anyone has any thoughts. I bought my first one and it throws really nice.
  3. I only bought a slab of it and I like the look but not the HT. I am trying to use it up....mixing with 415..I like the mix but am sticking with C3 for now.
  4. What's your name? Kim How old are you? 47 Where do you live? Upstate NY How long have you been making candles/soap/whatever? Since 2003 How did you get started making candles/soap/whatever? Was looking for my Niche and bought myself a candle making kit and it blossomed from there. Are you married? Yes...28 years in January Any kids? Yes..one daughter 24 and a granddaughter 4mos. If candle making isn't your primary job, what do you do? I own a seasonal ice cream shop Anything else we should know? I had gastric bypass surgery 2 years ago and lost 120lbs and feel great! I have a little pomeranian that will be 13 in February..I love animals too!
  5. I was looking around in my stash for some CD wicks and thought I had the bag of them..got the 14's and wicked all of my jelly jars, poured my candles(C3) and realized the next day that I used the CSN's! I have been burning a couple for testing and you would not believe how beautiful they are burning! No soot in sight..so far..and they are 3/4 of the way burned! One is Sugar Corn Pudding(no color) and the other is Frosted Pumpkin (JS..orange liquid dye).I just may start using CSN's for all of my soy candles! Yes..I would buy CD wicks if CS sold them!
  6. I agree with Horsescents..try both and see what moves the most. I used to sell tumblers with no lids..but I believe it was Lonestar sells the clear dust covers for them.. HTH...Good Luck!
  7. TY...I may have to try it..am trying 6006...have a good chunk of it to use up..lol
  8. I have, in the past, mixed 415 with C3 and it was the best of both worlds! I am just getting back into candlemaking and that is what I intend to do, for those who like soy. I am looking for a better paraffin wax though.
  9. This link helped me alot a few years back! The link is located as a sticky on the vegetable wax forum in red..there is another one where everyone posts their soy blends. HTH! http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?16759-FO-for-soy Kim
  10. TY...TY! They all sound wonderful! I will be picking out an apple, pumpkin and cranberry scent and of course some kind of leaves scent then slide some Christmas ones in. lol...TY again!
  11. TY BlackTie! This will help me alot..it is hard to peg what the people will like..I am starting off small and then I hope I can pretty much know what to make on a regular basis.

  15. I have been out of the loop for a while due to my other business..anyhow, I have a lady wanting me to do a signature scent for her..she knows exactly what she wants but I have never heard of two out of the three fo's she wants me to use. 1st fo she wants is...White Sage 2nd one is Sweet Grass I have the third one already. TY in advance for any help on these. Kim:grin2:
  16. Do they sell the"Fruit Loops" fragrance oil? TIA!
  17. I am going to be putting in my first order with DS and was wondering if they offer the Fruit Loops dupe? I am ordering Toffee-Sugar Crunch and Liquid Crack so far. Thanks in advance! Kim:smiley2:
  18. I use C3 and have for a few years. I have had some C3 look like yours..but I learned that it was the FO not the wax. I temper my wax( I heat to 200* then let cool to solid..then heat back up to 200*) I then pour what I need into a pourpot and bring the temp down to 185* add FO (color if you use it..I don't) then pour. I use a thick bath towel dedicated to candlemaking on the table and set my jars on this to cool. works for me just about everytime..unless I get a stubborn FO, one that comes to mind is Warm vanilla Sugar..it blooms everytime. Depending n the jar I use CD's and Htp's. I have been having trouble with the CD's lately..I get a black soot ring around the wicks on the wax...the Htp's don't do it. I just ordered some CDN's hopefully those will work better as they have a certain protective wax on them for the use in soy wax. Good Luck and hope it is thr right wax..i have never used C1 so I have no clue about what that should look like.
  19. Hi Flicker..I haven't been around much lately..this is an awesome idea! How exactly do you make this? Just heat the two and pour into bottles? sorry I am clueless..lol
  20. I just hope it doesn't make me want to eat the cereal all the time! lol I love Fruit Loops and Fruity Pebbles!
  21. Thanks Blacktie..I only shop the 3 places I stated in the beginning and BCN is one of them..so it is Fruity Loops? I will have to give it a try next time I order from there. TY all who responded! Km
  22. I did do a search on this fo and came up with a couple companies, but this was from 2008. I generally buy from JS or C&S, BCN occasionally. Can anyone tell me what the name of this scent is for 2012. I looked at JS and all I find is Fruit Slices. This is totally for myself..I was given this melt as a gift and would like to make more for myself. TIA...Kim
