Can you use these in a warmer? Kim
  3. Hi.. I ran across this link and thought I would post it for you to look at.I don't know about the product at all, just thought you could check it out.:smiley2: http://www.moonglowcandles.net/wax-soydrops-complete.html Kim
  4. Beautiful! How do you get the layers so perfect in each jar? I just love them! Kim
  5. I use the 11oz. Libby Tumblers..but I have been ordering them from Taylored Concepts..does anyone know what other suppliers near NY sells these..? Thank you... Kim:smiley2:
  6. Great idea..."kill 2 birds with one stone", so to speak..lol. Kim
  7. Well, I started out just selling paraffin..then when the "soy craze" started alot of my customers were asking me all kinds of questions about it.I thought I had better give it a try..so I ordered a small amount of it to test...got the jars and wicking and only offered a few fo's in it after testing them, of course. They sold pretty good for a while then it dropped off..ppl are strange..so what I did is offer both..still do. I guess the why part of your question would be..it is what the ppl wanted. HTH. Kim
  8. Congrats on your first batch! I have 3 prestos and also use C3 wax..it melts on 200* in minutes. I never actually timed it but I love my Presto's! I see you had a little frost on top of the candle..if you have a heat gun you can zap the top and it should go away..I will give you an overrun of what I do..just to give you an idea... I add the wax to my presto..let it melt..I prepare my jars which I set on a tea towel so the heat will distribute evenly, and our house is always 73-75*, once the wax is melted I pour what I need into my pouring pot , I usually don't add dye..but lately ppl want colored candles so I use blocks..I have found that liquid makes C3 frost horrible! The blocks don't,or haven't for me anyhow...then I add fo and stir, stir, stir usually a couple of minutes..then pour into jars,no, I don't pre-heat my jars. I usually get perfect tops..no frost or holes.I try to pour as hot as I can it works for me. Also I do temper my wax..Stella has this down pat, if you do a search it will help alot..especially with C3..but I would imagine this technique will work w/ any wax.(soy) May I ask what kind and size wick you used for that jar? I think it looks beautiful..just think how many candles you will put out with a couple Presto's! Good Luck.. Kim
  9. Yay..I have a few cases in transit as we speak! I usually use tumblers but I thought i would do a back up jars..lol..whew! Glad to know it will be ok. Kim
  10. I like that...I also am going to add these to my line...I ordered throught the co-op...Scent Singles...nice ring to it! Thanks! Kim:smiley2:
  11. I only make candles...but..your soaps are awesome! Just gorgeous! great work! Kim
  12. I have used the Production wax from C&S..it is very nice..great throw..BUT...you have to let it cure for 10days..on most fo's..I can tell you Cranberry Spice did not do well for me in this wax.I used it a couple of years ago for a craft fair..I now use Cargill C3...love it! I just started testing 6006....it seems to be another awesome wax...I have only tested 3 fo's in this wax but all three are awesome!(Pink Sugar BCN...Apple jack n Peel JS....and Flannel Sheets JS).HTH...some. Oh and wicking is easy in 6006..so far! C3 takes a little while to figure out...but throws great!:smiley2: Kim
  13. I have a big order going out soon to JS..does anyone know if they have something similar to Plumberry Spice? TIA!..:smiley2: Kim
  14. How does the Vanilla Oak smell in wax? I just ordered some...:smiley2:! Kim
  15. What type of apthocary jars are those?(country comfort)? I use Tumblers and Square Masons...out of the loop when it comes to apothecary jars..lol...I love the look! Very earthy....natural looking! :smiley2: What did you scent them? Kim
  16. Good Luck! I hope all goes well for you! I think i may play a little after Thanksgiving..I have some GG I just found!:smiley2: Let us know what wicks work for you! Take Care! Kim
  17. I played with GG a couple of years ago..in fact I thought about trying it again..I used the metro jars and I started out w/CD wicks then switched to CDN's(if you use a CD 14 the CDN will be the same size, same wicks just CDN's have a special coating for soy waxes).I ended up w/ a CDN 14 it burned it level but the jar were really hot..the CDN 12 was not hot enough.I stopped testing. As afar as fo's..I think the wax is pretty versatile and it has excellent hot throw! I came across this thread about relief holes..just in case you do encounter them you have something to fall back on..I saved it to my favorites. Good Luck..Kim http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55735&highlight=Glass+Glow
  18. Great job! Good luck!:smiley2: By the way the colors are very nice! I bet your garage does smell good! Kim
  19. I think the dollop would be better...you are very creative...I don't think I have ever seen an actual pumpkin pie candle(that I remember), they are always apple. Keep up the good work! Kim:smiley2:
  20. I am not the most creative person in the world...but...what popped into my mind was to grunge the outside and maybe put some wax crumbles or tarts for the warmers and sell them that way...I really don't think anyone would even care what the inside looks like..but if you do it this way you can paint the inside! I really think they would look awesome all grunged up! maybe sell a warmer w/it as a gift basket! Just a thought! Good Luck! Kim
  21. I have tried making them..the scent throw is awesome..but for me wicking them was a bugger! I finally got them "wicked" but I didn't like how hot the jar got. I used the metro jars and CDN 12..14 depending on fo. Kimmer:smiley2:
  22. Thanks... I think I may try it..I like the fact there is no cure time. Kim:smiley2:
