Should I switch over to wick pins? I dont think I could use a drill and my DH isnt in to my candles much..

I suddenly started having a problem leveling pillars.I use a griddle and a level and have always done OK. Now it seems like the wick gets in the way for me to level.I end up snipping some of the wick and digging it out. I know this is not right. What am I doing wrong????

Did you burn the house down???? What is the out come of the candle jar saga??Or was that last post it for the season. Do we have to wait untill fall to see what happened??

Hi Buffalo NY. No candle companys worth talking about. You have to look at different sites I order from CS and NuScent they seem to be pretty good with shipping..

I know its a strange question.I would never put anything on my skin or in my hair. I was just wondering if any of the products we work with could be used this way.

ok with all the different wax we use, is thier a certain kind one can use for ing removing hair? The small container I bought was expensive. I melt it in microwave then apply then pull it off. Also what about wax for styling hair. I spend a fortune on hair products and I probally have the same stuff sitting in my basement. Anyone out there in wax world know????????

I agree with the RRD wicks. I had so much soot I quit using them.The side of my jar was black. I use cargill 3 wax. I switched to the ECO.pretabbed wicks. I like them, nice burn and no soot

I have tried many times to make a everlasting with feather palm from CS. They also melted when I put a tea lite in, and a votive. I did have the glass holder inserted.I talked to someone at CS and they told me straight palm would need something added to it. They were not sure as to what needed to be added. I told them mine melt and almost crumble at the top. They thought that made since due to the wax.So anyone out there adding anything to thier palm. Donita what temp do you pour the everlastings at using the 5055?Do they require a second pour to??

I thought the point of the wax was to let it cool as slow as possible. I put mine on a rack and cover them with a styrofoam cooler. Then forget them till the next day. I also never have to do relief holes and second pours. Am I doing something wrong???

I have made 3" pillars using palm feather from CS.I have found that a csn12 works great with some and a csn13 works great with others. You have to test. I went up with the denser fragrance, I was not getting the shell effect I wanted from the 12 with some fragrance.Its well worth your time the candles are beautiful

I use CAndle Science feather palm wax and my pillars just slide out. I dont use any spray.The same thing with the tortoise palm. I love it. I wish I had my forevers down, they crumble when I unmold them.

Im doing a summer show in July. I have never made a fire starter, but I do have a bunch of scrap wax lying around. Should I take some and display them as camp fire starters for the show? How much do you charge for a fire starter? Would I go with the un scented first? I don't think people would want scented for a camp fire.

Love them thet look great. Is that the secret using feather and the starburst 50-50. I have tried so many times to make a forever just with the feather palm and it never turns out. Anyways GREAT JOB....

I would call and complain. They are great there Im sure they would do something for you. It wouldnt hurt to try. Wax is not cheap!!!!!!!

Ive never done the oven thing with molds, but once put a cake in there. That had taken all day to make Oreo cream filling, Home made buttercream frosting. I have a sheperd and a Golden so I put it in the oven while I stepped out. Well needless to say the cake did not need to be baked again. I cryed when I realized what I had done. So weve all done something not thinking

I like them, I think that when yo sell them just remind people that the can will get warm while it is burning. Just like a glass one does inside your house.I HATE the smell of citronella, I have to pour and run away as fast as I can. Its almost gagging inst it......

Wow Thanks for all your opinions.I am still not sure what to do. As far as my friend goes that is the least of my worrys. We have a friendship that is strange. We are actually closer than sisters and I know money would never pull us apart(we never have any)This woman has had 2 prior stores. One at the local mall. Barnes and Nobles took over the whole corner so she left. She went to one of our more classy malls and her store is small and rent is high. So she got a store at the plaza. I will ask her to lower the space fee. Also how she is going to advertise. I think what I will do is go over these blogs and write down all my questions and see how she answers.Then I will make my mind up. I just have so much stock and no shows untill July. Any ideas on anything else to sell my stuff. Thanks for all your help

A woman was advertising in our local paper that she need vendors for her new store. It will be in a plaza that does great bussiness. The space is 10x8, and here are the stipulations. It is 125.00 a month. Plus 20% of sale on cash items. 25% on charges.No contracts,no working, you get paid every 2 weeks.All sales tax goes threw the store.My freind and I would share one space. She does hand painted wine glasses and wood holders for the glasses and bottles of wine. I do my candles. As long as it looks all together the woman does not have a problem with us sharing. My husband is going nuts. Again he thinks this is a stupid idea. Is it stupid. Please be honest. It wouldnt be the first time he was right LOL
