  1. OK, here it is results are in. In two 3 inch jars I used I ounce Fragrance (Cocconut) to I pound glass glow. EXCELLANT hot and cold throw. It burned really nice. It did leave a very thin layer around the sides on the jar. Some people would like this because they never loose the beauty of the wax. The other (same jar) 1 ounce (Stormwatch) to 1 pound glass glow. OUTSTANDING scent throw. It was like I was melting tarts. Thats how stong the throw was. Evryone commented. I had a great burn at all stages and nothing was left on my jar. I liked using the ECO 12. I still have more to test.
  2. I am trying a test burn now with ECO 12.I have a 3 inch diameter. Its been lite for an hour, I will let you know how it burns. ECOs are reccomended for natural wax so I thought Id try them before making yet another purchase.
  3. I Love it. Would not change a thing,PERFECT
  4. Love It. Cant wait to see it after more experimenting.
  5. I printed pics off line and inserted into my cane. Like a photo cane. Its a PITA, but the out come is worth it..
  6. Have fun, you will meet some real nice people. I have yet to meet a nasty vendor. ( Im sure there are some). Try and have your booth inviting. This is what I am attempting to do.Make sure most of your product is eye level. Nothing on the ground, so that it is easy to see.Like everyone else said. Know your product and be friendly, you will have a blast. Good Luck let us know how you do.
  7. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but anywhoo. I am looking for smaller bushel baskets to place my product on table tops. I want to put some tarts and votives in them.If any one has other suggestions I am open to them I am currently trying to change my set up to make it more inviting.(I posted my old set up a while ago and received many suggestions.) I am using my shelevs to set orbs and canes and pillars on. Thanks
  8. Orbs are a blast to make. When I first started my DH rigged a string from my workshop ceiling over my turkey fryer full of wax. It works great, I dont have to stand there and hold the balloon. Well one time I thought I had it on good. My balloon did a huge cannon ball in to the hot wax. I closed my eyes and screamed. Wax EVERYWHERE. Good thing I wear glasses because they were covered.Im still picking wax off of some places. In time it gets easier, beware they are truly addicting. What has Donita done to us???I cant wait for her to lead us into more LOL
  9. I love the service there. I am still waiting for my palm wax, butI dont mind that much. The people that work there are sooooo nice that it makes it a little easier to wait.. HAve fun with all your new stuff. Im jealous..
  10. Thats what I thought. Would this not be false advertising? Or can we chandlers say that. Even though I never would. I just can not believe a true candle maker would advertise this way...
  11. Not sure if I should post tis question here but anyway. I was on Ebay just being nosey and I saw this currently( Sellers Name) makes soy wax candles and palm wax candles with either cotton or hemp wicks. The scent used in the candles is also sold for use in soap, lotions, and incense. Also, ( Sellers Name) uses twice the amount of scent as other candles so the scent is stronger and lasts much longer. My question is do some people believe this?? If you did use twice as much fragrance wouldnt that lead to a candle that doesnt burn very nice?? Any thoughts??
  12. Those are really nice. You did a nice job...
  13. When I first did my over dip I was so confused. Once you do this a few times you will get the knack. Put your whole hand down in it and push the orb under the wax. Be careful not to go to deep so the wax doesnt come pouring in. Then spread your fingers inside the orb your hand will know what to do once it is in there. Lift up slowly, untill it is out of the wax. I let it drip for a second then put it in cold water.Dry it off gently. I put a small piece of cork under my tealite. if you used the right wax you should be ok. Try burnig a tealite untill its done. Im sure it would be good to go then. Try applying some flowers with the decoupage. I found this alot easier. The only thing is you cant shape the leaves the why you want because you dont need to heat to apply. Good Luck
  14. Awesome, like always Donita. You are so talented.
  15. When over dipping make sure your orb is warm. They will crack if you dip them cold. I use a heat lamp and set them under it untill they get warm. Also decoupage on my orbs. Make sure they are really dry before you over dip them. I also advertise my orbs at craft show as vases (they will hold water) candy dishes, what ever else you can think of. Once I stared I was addicted to them. I am going to purchase Donitas tortial on electric orbs. I cant wait untill I try them.
  16. I tested Fresh cut roses and Black Raspberry vanilla Both from Millcreek. Awesome throw
  17. Now this is one is alot of work. How about an ever lasting pillar. Maybe with some pics of the types of dogs that are used. I know you could charge more and then get into tealites. Ask the people to come back and buy replacement tealites from you to support your organization.Told you it was alot. Good luck with what ever you decide. It is a wonderful thing... I love dogs :grin2:
  18. I too want to say Thanks.Youve helped me alot
  19. Awesome. I love them. You have 33 less to do now. Post the others when they are done. Bye the way when is the wedding????
  20. Like always, beautiful work. I cant wait to see the bear. Please post it when your done...
  21. I Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! What would happen if you wicked down and put 2 or 3 wicks in??
  22. A few years back, I bought some bean pod candles. They were horrible. I had so much black soot that I used a roll of paper towels and a bottle of windex to clean my living room. They were so sticky and I had a very hard time getting them out of the votive cups. Now that I make soy I know that something was really wrong with them. I ended up selling them on Ebay and the woman was thrilled. She wanted to know how I got my hands on so many beanpod candles. Just hope she had lots of paper towels and windex. LOL
  23. I use feather palm from Candle Science. I make a 3 x 4 pillar with a csn 13 wick. I dont know if thier is a big differance between the waxes. I think it is just the appearance on the outside of the candle. I am no expert but I think this wick does a nice job.
  24. I think they look awesome. That looks like alot of work. Good Job!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Yes who is Drew? I would definetly buy my wax from him. I would drive to Rochester. My sister lives in Groton which is close to Courtland. So yes I would be in for all types of wax if he would carry it. How about Palm to?????
