  1. Any cosmetic products, including soap, must be certified before being sold in any EU country. I don't believe this is required in the US though.
  2. Hey BritishGirl (and others on this side of the pond)! This is a bit late, but I've recently contacted the LX manufacturer trying to find out where to buy their wicks in Europe. They are based in Germany, but I can't find a damn wick anywhere in the country...go figure! They got back to me saying that http://www.exagon.ch/ sells their LX wicks. The website doesn't provide the manufacturer specs, but I've emailed them to find out which wicks correspond with which LX sizes (haven't gotten an answer yet as I just emailed them yesterday). The shipping might be cheaper for you from here than from the US.
  3. I'm going to guess that candles get more of an uproar because there is a flame involved. But I agree that both should be thoroughly tested before anyone even thinks about selling.
  4. Just giving this a little bump in the hopes that someone has tried these. Maybe I'll be the first!
  5. oooh, that looks like something i would like to eat.
  6. I did a search for this eBay seller, but couldn't find anything. Has anyone used dye chips from Scent-sationals Northwest Soap/Candle Company? They claim the dye chips are organic. I'm always on the lookout for more natural products for my soy candles, but am loathe to have to retest all my current candles. Anyone have any experience with them?
  7. You can try building your own using one of the modifiable shopping cart programs (Zen Cart, OS Commerce, etc). You will need to know a fair amount of HTML and/or PHP though.
  8. Wiki definition From the little I know, they are mostly used by spammers.
  9. That looks amazing! I showed it to my husband, whose response was "so, when are you going to start making soap too?"
  10. How about Maize? It's still brown-ish to be chai, but light enough that the brown may not offend you.
  11. Are they shipping via UPS (I think UPS uses the term Worldwide Expedited)? If so, that price could very well be correct. I looked into shipping a few boxes from the US to Germany (prior to the move) and it would've cost me about $300 for one box. Obviously I didn't choose that option! Maybe they can ship it via USPS, unless it's an FO or something.
  12. Yep, they look almost exactly like glasses I got from Ikea. I'm not sure if the measurements will match exactly, but you can get a case of the glasses for about $10-15.
  13. I've found them to be hit or miss. The key is to do some research on blending EOs. It's more like perfumery than just adding one particular EO to the candle. Different EOs have different "notes", and you need the right blend of top, middle, bottom notes to get the scent to stay strong. I love using them in soy candles, but it can take a long time, and a lot of money, to find a good blend.
