  1. Ask the dollar store where you get them from. Im sure they would order extras for you. They look very nice. I passed on them at my Dollar store. I have a hard time selling that big of a jar..
  2. That looks beautiful. Arent they fun to dip??
  3. Over the summer I poked a few holes in the bottom of my seashell hurricane. I then PLANTED a geranium, spike and vinca vine in it. It was gorgeous and never once melted in the summer sun .And it held up to the water.
  4. I went to the promoters site and found this. Should I approach the promoter about this. One less candle booth means they would need to replace it with a different candle booth.Perhaps I would move up on the list. Or perhaps I would be scratched from all the lists.I really dont know what to do ( To those of you who exhibit in our shows, THANK YOU for your loyalty and professionalism that help us keep our high standards. And to those of you who haven't yet participated in one of our shows, we hope you'll take the first step in joining our winning team by submitting your hand-crafted items to our jury process. )
  5. Thats what I want to find out. If they are mass produced. They have a web site and it says each candle is hand poured, but Im not sure about that. They looked way to yankee ish for that.Does that make any sense??
  6. Would you consider these candles a craft?? They were at my last show I did.The promotion company that puts this show on is the same one that does Christmas in the country.I also know that St Johnsbury does that one.Jury is hard for these shows, Christmas in the country takes years to get in to. They are looking for that unusual craft. So would you all consiser these candles a craft??We can start there, before I go any farther with this issue. Again Thanks for your input..
  7. My mistake, the votive boxes( wooden slate crates) are divided in half. One half for melts the other for votives. Then After I stained them I lined the bottom with felt. My DH also made me the slate to divide them. I have tons of room behind them on the table for storage. It makes life so much easier. The snowmen are just tealte burners. I still can not believe they were only a dollar.
  8. Hi, No I bought the snowmen from my local Dollar Store. They are tealite burners. No my risers dont collaspe.I spent all summer staining my baskets. I bought them at AC MOore with the coupons each week. Every penny helps. Thanks For Looking

  10. Wow awesome. I am going to try this. Ive been anxious to try something new. Im going to start with making an orb, dropping it in the wax until the top of the balloon. Putting it in the cool water, popping balloon,Ill try a hot knife to cut shape. Does this sound ok. Where is Donita Im sure she could do this...
  11. At the fall show I did, I had mixed home sweet home and some other ones. I called itAutumn woods. It was the first thing i sold out of. I should of wrote down what I used. I swore Id remember, but I forgot to remember.
  12. Your set up looks great.... I have learned that the majority of the peolple will spend $10.00 and less without thinking much about it, Anything over that they tend to him and hah and think do I really need that. With the way things are now adays,,I just did a huge show last weekend sales were good.Again small priced items sell. Just a thought to ponder.
  13. I would leave that mold out. They are awesome.I love all the colors!!!!!!
  14. Is thier a huge differance between this wax as far as the texture of the votives. When I used the V1 they just slide out of my molds.I really want to try this wax so I can order every thing from CS.Are the HT and CT the same as V1? Any help would be great..
  15. First thing that came to my mind was WOW. They are gorgeous!!
  16. The dollar store that I go to has the most awesome stuff. He is not affiliated with the chain of the dollar stores. He calls me when he gets new stuff in and lets me pick what I want before he puts it on the shelves.I cant believe it myself the. The quality of stuff he gets is unbelieveable. :yay:
  17. I hand dipped pine cones in glass glow.Posted pics on the gallery. Can I put a wick on them and sell them as fire starters???
  18. I dipped the pine cone in Glass palm wax. Scented it PINE (thought long and hard on that)The snowman and Ginger bread house are tealite burners. I wrapped a box of scented assorted soy tealites that I made. I shrink wrap them. It looks really neat. Let me know what you think. I bought my burners from my local Dollar store.
  19. I tried it in glass glow and it looks really cool. I dont know what a covered pine cone looks like. I have searched this site and can not get a pic to save my life. I was thinking of putting the cone on a xmas plate shrink wrapp it and sell a few at my next shows. What do you think?? Any pics would be so helpful..
  20. Just got home from a show, it was held at one of the high schools in our area.It usually was held at the middle school and this year was changed to the high school due to renovations. Table fee was $40.00 for a 12 foot spot. Thier was 150 crafters there.Or I should say 150 different people there selling things. People selling avon, people selling tupperware. The one that really got me was this woman selling candles. A huge sign saying SOY Candles smell me. I being the nosey person that I am pick it up. First it was $3.00 for a votive and that expensive soy votive was palm wax. It was a nice feather appearance.I asked the lady did you know this is palm wax. She looks at me and said I dont make them I just sell them for a company from P.A. I AM so disgusted with shows. These people who put them on should be held accountable for,the quality of the show and the integreity of the crafters. After all there would be no event if we didnt show. They do forget that. By the way I broke even for the day.I have so much invested in this any suggesstions??????????????
  21. Been there more times than I care to remember. The good shows will out weigh the bad ones. Every show is different and it always depends on whether the people are buying or just looking. I did a show that had a huge attendance. Most every vendor barley made table money back.Keep plugging away.Good Luck :)
  22. Hi, I just got back from a craft fair. My table fee was $225.00 for a 10 x 10 in door space. The show was well promoted. A ton of lookers came very few buyers, sure I was upset. I love this craft stuff. I love meeting all the new vendors. Everyone is so nice. Well are you ready for my total. We made a amazing $330.00 for a 2 day show. The most expensive thing I had was an orb priced at $20.00. I sold one of them This show was in the high wage section in our area.So after deducting table fee I made $105.00. I am not giving up. All the crafters couldnt beleive, no one was buying. I think this is my gambling addiction. I keep thinking next time and keep making more. Good Luck To All...
  23. That's interesting. About a year ago I saw a couple big guys selling soy candles at a local festival. It looked kind of funny as big and burley as they were. Couldn't picture them burning a candle of their own. But, they were 8 oz JJ, same prices, 5 for $20. They had the sales pitch too. Anyone that approached heard all the benefits of soy. They must have had 50 scents or so. I think it was the same people. Its very interesting all the opions. I have to have all my supplys shipped to me. So I have to add that to my prices.
  24. Had a show this past weekend. I saw a man there selling soy candles. They were 8 oz jars. They were in a jar that looked like a canning jar. I being the noisey person that I am, and wanting to check out my competition. Went up and asked him. How much are these? He tells me they are 100% soy and are $5.00 a piece or 5 for $20.00. I went back to my booth and told my husband. We both are stumped. How could he sell that cheap?? I bettcha they were not 100%soy What does everyone else thinK???
