  1. For those that don't know...there is an E-Z CP Milk soap class by our very own MA scheduled for next weekend. Hmmm...shouldn't the list of supplies be out by now??? Donna
  2. ROFL....I think the only thing they are missing is the "hair of the dog that bit me". Actually.....I wouldn't be surprised to find a few odd doggie hairs. :tiptoe:
  3. I voted... Cream soap would be good too..... and whipped soap maybe? How about rebatching that isn't fugly or whipped rebatches? Just some thoughts.... Donna
  4. :spit: :laugh2: :laugh2: OMG! Those are totally awesome!
  5. Tomorrow I'm going to whip up at batch of whipped soap....in Dream. May make a few other batches too. I got two jobbies to use as molds at Walmart today and I want to try them out! Hmmm...also on the agenda....the LS soap class, gotta find out when that is I thought it was Saturday morning....DOH! I also need to tweak a sugar scrub recipe and a body butter recipe and then gobs of each. But, I'm also off next week for Spring Break, so it's vacation time for me! WOOT! Donna
  6. :laugh2: :laugh2: <sniff> The only butt naked around here is usually of the streaking nine year old dimpled variety. Unless DS is at my mom's...then it's the psuedo streaking 36 year old variety. :rolleyes2
  7. Man....ya'll see your name....I went looking specifically for the porn! Guess the secret that my address is in 'da gutter is out now. Nice porn, Julie! Donna
  8. Actually, at 5% superfat, the standard that soapcalc is set at, the lye is 3.82 oz, not 4 oz. only when I put the superfat to .5% (less than 1%, it wasn't a typo!) does the lye go to 4 oz.
  9. So, I've been eyeing Nizzy's tutorial for too long now. I wanna dip my feet in and try whipped soap. Just to say I did. LOL. I was going to use this recipe from his site: Crisco 9.5oz cocoa butter 2 oz shea butter 2 oz coconut 9.5 oz castor 1 oz rice bran 2.5 oz lye 4 oz water 10 oz Now...I converted that to % and put it into soap calc. In order for the lye to be 4 ounces, we are looking at a .5% superfat. Now...is this normal to not superfat whipped soap? Should I? What about adding silk to the lye water, will that work? TIA! Donna
  10. Yeah, I cut it. I wasn't too impressed though, so was trying to fade into the background! :tiptoe: Here they are cut....they ashed so the top one I planed down a bit. You can see a little shimmers of the Diamond Cluster in the uncolored soap. There is no sparkly left of Hot Mama and it turned into a rose color. It's a very pretty color...just not HOT MAMA. LOL. Donna
  11. Pretty pretty! Now I need to make more soap. LOL.
  12. Oooohhhh....that is so cool looking! My first thought was ancient Mayan artifacts! How in the world did you get it so black?? Mica? Oxide? Will the lather be black too? So neat......I can see Over-The-Hill soaps....ROFL. Donna
  13. What I did: 25% lard, 30% cco, 26.88% oo & 18.12% rbo You should still run what oils you DID use through a lye calculator and compare the lye amount to what you actually used. If you are lye heavy, it may be irritating or caustic on the skin. Better safe than sorry. Donna
  14. OMG.....I figured the scent wasn't as important as those micas, girl! LOL. Tony's Island Kiss. One of my few faves....this entire batch is for ME. BUAHAHAHAHAHA.
  15. Well...I know a few have been waiting for this.....Hot Mama! WOOO! I've only just poured this...so it may change with a gel. The color is a bit deeper in real life...but I suck at photography. I used 1/2 tsp Hot Mama in about 2 cups of soap and 1 tsp of Diamond Cluster in the rest of it. (Misty creek...3 1/2 pounds of oils.) I'll take more pictures with gel and after it's cut.... Donna
  16. They won't be scrubby at all. Or, mine aren't ever. They "polish" very well though. I used one one of my heels every day for two weeks...and there was a big difference! Summer sandals, here I come. I also use it on my face....and it seems to be taming the adult acne uglies quite nicely. Donna
  17. Oh my....you haven't gotten them yet??? Wow...if you aren't allergic to coconut....YEAH...then you can use the green one I sent......WOOT! I was wondering today if you had gotten them yet. GRRRR. LOL. At least *I* didn't get them back this time! LOL...Donna
  18. I've used both iodized and uniodized (both either Morton's or the store brand). I've not tried sea salt. I think a lot of the crumblies are due to when you cut them. For me, I start cutting about 1 - 1 1/2 hours after I pour. (I don't put them on the oven, or cover them....just leave the mold on the counter.) If it's slightly firm when I touch it, I cut it. Then you need to recut it every 1/2 hour to an hour....in case the cut lines get mooshed back together. And as soon as they are set up enough so that you can pull them out and separate them, do that.....even if they are HOT still....and that's the time to bevel them if you are going to. Wear gloves. I still have no idea how people do them in log molds....not something I want to try. Donna
  19. Woo hoo!!! Look at that! Salt bars! I love em! The crumbly ones...you could add to another batch like suggested or if you make salt scrubs, you could grind them up and add them to that. Just a thought. Loving the colors BTW...very vibrant.....or were . What are they? Hugs, Donna
  20. What lye calculator are you using? I've only had two batches (made at the same time) remain sticky and soft. About a month later it dawned on me that I used the lye #'s in Soapmaker instead of Soapcalc. At the time I didn't know there is a -8.3 variation you have to use in Soapmaker.....and thus, not enough lye! I'm still bitter about it. LOL....almost 8 oz of Solas oils down the drain! I can honestly say that I haven't used my Soapmaker program in months and months.... Donna
  21. It is official. I do hate you. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I wanna be you when I grow up!!! I want to officially put my name it to purchase one of these.....I must have one. Not only is the scent combo intriguing...but it's damned purdy too! Oh yes...I will be calling. Donna
  22. Well.....armed with all the directions this morning, I attempted to duplicate Barbara and Soapfreak's wonderful HP creations. As we all saw, my attempts yesterday were....shall we say...mutilated? There was a point, midway through, where I thought to myself. "CRAP! I should have just gotten Barbara's phone number and called her while I did this! I wonder if *that* is normal?" :undecided Please keep in mind that I a) have CPHP'd before, so not a total noob and have used all the ingredients before (sodium lactate, goatsmilk, etc). DUH. I did have to pull the crock out of the base and let the soap cool down enough to addd the goatsmilk paste. And by then it was starting to dry out it seemed sorta icky. Eh, learning curve. I did pull out too much soap and colored it.....and I used to much colorant and made it too dark, but, it's not too bad at all! I didn't get the pretty marble look...but I wasn't TOO far off. At least it doesn't totally look like spam. I am a bit too lazy though and didn't clean them up yet. It's scented with AH/RE Sweet Orange/Green Clover and I'm TOTALLY digging this scent! And now you are thinking, "Good grief, shut UP already and show us the soap!" Hehehehe. Ain't it purdy?? Much better than yesterday! Donna
  23. Delete Please......apparently I posted twice!!!
  24. Ooohhh...I can add!!!! 5. Do not try out a new recipe AND a new process without getting ALL the details down pat first. Donna
  25. ROFL....Whale blubber! That's what I thought of first...but yeah, I do see cherry cobbler too. LOL. I did take a knife and whack at it. OMG.....DH came running when I screamed.....festering wound....yeah....more like an infected boil. :spit: DH kept saying..."ew....it looks like a zit..." and then he'd press down with the knife....and let it ooze. Men. No rebatching for me....I put it out of my misery. LOL. Vio.....soaping is an adventure.....and a learning experience. You will have a batch go South. Learn from it....poke fun at it.....and move on. Donna
