  1. OMG, Grandma...if I hadn't learned to laugh at myself a long time ago, I'd surely be in the looney bin. Louise....I'll take your crown and flowers! Barbara had it right.....I was playing with trying to make my HP pretty and smooth like hers and Soapfreak's......I got the directions a little confused and then went off half cocked before waiting for clarification. Barbara...hon....if this is the only soap I ever throw away, I'd consider myself truly blessed. No worries....that's why I didn't use an expensive FO. Tomorrow is another day and we WILL soap tomorrow. I thought about chunking it back into the crockpot and finishing it off....but I'm scared to. LOL. Especially since it has goatsmilk powder in it. EW. ROFL. You know...if I was trying to make soap look like this for Halloween or something, I couldn't do it to save my life. BUAHAHAHAHA. <snicker> Back to class I go. Donna
  2. .....ME! <applause, applause> Yeah! I won!! WOOT!!! I'd like to dedicate this award to Louise, who didn't think I had it in me. !Due to some graphic content, viewer discretion is advised! Yes, I know what happened. No, it wasn't intentional. It was an experiment of sorts....but dayum, I thought I would just get some fugly soap out of it.....I don't even think this baby is gonna get cut....STRAIGHT to the trash can (after DH gets a good guffaw). Here we have the top of the log....notice the interesting cracks and caves. My son looked at the top this morning and said it looked like someone's brain. Nice. And here we have the underside of the log. Yes, it DOES look like an open, festering wound. I have no idea where the pink/red came from. I used green and purple colors. BUAHAHA. It was almost enough to make me toss my cookies this morning. On a good note....now I know what NOT to do. It does smell good though.....AH/RE Lavender, Apples & Oak. And that concludes our broadcast day. Donna
  3. It does smell sooooo freaking good. I stuck it under DH's nose too and he likes it too. I swear though, if I bring in one more FO, he will shoot me.
  4. Aw man....ya'll need to quit that. I've never smelled it and when I did try to order it, they were out. If anyone needs me...I'll be in my corner pouting today. <sigh> Donna
  5. It's been about a year for me having this little sample bottle of it (I'm not a foodie fan)...and it still smells like frosted carrot cake. Maybe your bottle was mislabeled? Email Peak...I'm sure Nachelle and Alan will take care of you. Donna
  6. Oooohhhhh......I want one. I just got an order from Tony's and they were out of Dragon's Blood. <pout> I'll cure them at my house for ya!
  7. Well...for one, I'm making Lime Margarita salt bars on Saturday for the Souse Swap. I've also been PMing Barbara back and forth to learn how to make HP look so smooth and marbly...so I'm about to go whip out the crockpot and make something tonight. No clue WHAT scent...but I'm making something, durnit. Donna
  8. Ooooh....you all need to ask ChrisR! She sent in chocolate amber soaps for the Whole Lotta Lovin' Soap swap. Julie....if you don't want yours...since you think it wouldn't smell good...I'll keep yours for you! It smells DELISH. I'll root around and find her box....maybe she's got the supplier name on the label. Donna
  9. Seriously. Between you and Barbara.....will one of you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a HP class/tutorial??? PLEASE????? How do you all DO that?? My HP looks like hamburger....yours (and Barbara's) look like marble. PLEASE? Share???? Scented....can I make that request? Donna
  10. You know what, Danielle......if you are allergic to coconut, you will NOT want to use that green bar I sent you. It has coconut in it. I mean, you could try it....but if it's coconut....there you go. It's a good thing I shoved that castille soap in there, huh? LOL...lemme know when you get them! Donna
  11. I just PM'd her.....it could be an allergy to the fragrance too. I'm gonna send her a regular CP bar and a castille-type bar. If that don't work, we'll try something else. Hugs, Donna
  12. There is a new soapers reference thread stickied already. Can these ideas be added to it so that they are all in the same place? Just wondering....
  13. Pretttttty. Those are some nice looking soaps! I like the color...it's almost marbly. I have to go look up hummingbird now. I have an affinity for them, but haven't ever smelled a scent called hummingbird. I always add my FO, unless it's an accelerator or discolors, to my oils before I add my lye. Weigh it right on the scale. I'm lazy that way. Donna
  14. I think they all look great! I see the face in the first set of pics too. My first thought though? When you crack open an oyster and the oyster is still in there.......and you get the iridescent mother of pearl gleam to it...THAT's what I thought of when I saw the second picture of the first soap. Nuts, I know. The others look awesome too. I won't try to help w/ names...I suck wind at names. LOL. I wanna be like Julie when I grow up! Donna
  15. Now, I'm sure you are going to tell me beauty is in the eye of the beholder and blah blah blah. But these are representatives of all the soaps in my family soap box. Now...some of these are testers that I made from 1oz samples and trying new recipes....they are still ugly though. Ignore the Tinkerbell coloring book at the top...my son's Valentine's gift to me. LOL. I like to color...so shoot me. Anyway.... from 9 o'clock and then clockwise Solas Seabreeze...not sure what the aqua color did...but the partial gel is ugly. Solas Strawberry (also in the middle and at 11 o'clock)....believe it or not, the colors were a vibrant red and bright white. You can't see the little black poppy seed things in there. MMS Awapuhi Seaberry....not sure what the white snowflake looking pattern is on all the bars, but it's trippy looking. Peak's Green Clover & Aloe...in the far far right upper corner....you can't see the DOS in the shot..but there's a little spot of it. I'm sentimental about this one....it was one of my first soaps to actually come out as soap. LOL. BW Tropicali Tango - This was a tester and I just squirted orange into it so I wouldn't get it confused with the other testers I was making. MMS Bay Rum...the blue and white ash pit. Also a family tester BW Pink Pepperberry....the vibrant pink at the bottom...family tester BW Vanilla Pear....another family tester...I knew it would discolor cuz of the vanilla, but EW. OK....*I* think they are ugly. So there! Donna
  16. Yup....me too. I have a box...rather large one....with a sign on the side that says "Family soap box". OK, it's a basket, not a box....but all the uglies...and funkies go in there. Donna
  17. Ooooohhhh....thems pretty cut! Yup, I'm gonna buy some. DH is going to shoot me. Oh well. Donna
  18. Nice! You've been a busy girl. Where do I put in my order? (contemplates knocking black cherry mica OFF her list of stuff to get.....:tiptoe: ) Donna
  19. That's not tooo bad...though it does look a bit bruise-ish on the bottom. I'm gonna have to root out my uglies and take pictures. We really need to think about an ugly soap swap. Donna
  20. You too, Donna-my-love! I need cut pics. CUT! CUT! CUT!
  21. Let's chant, ladies..... CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT! Give w/ the cut pics already! I wanna see if these colors fade before I order a pound of 'em! LOL. Donna
  22. I just stick blend goats milk powder into my oils before adding lye. And then I run the mold to the fridge to avoid gel. Donna
  23. Oh that looks totally far out, Julie!!! I had to run and double check that all 7 colors were on my "to buy" list. (they were!) Can't wait to see them cut.....I'm wondering if they fade any/much. MA...thank you so much for the description on the morphing of micas in high PH. I've never used micas or oxides before, so I honestly didn't know. I was afraid of a few micas on their site...but I might just get some more to try now! Cuz you know, me likey shimmeries! Donna
  24. I am taking an advanced spreadsheets (Excel 2007) class right now at school. If you need any help w/ formulas, let me know. Donna
