  1. I've got both of these coming tomorrow, am anxious to try out.
  2. Can someone please describe the Vanilla Lime for me? Is it similar to Yankee's? I'd like a really really tart lime, and I didn't think Yankee's was.
  3. Candlewic offers one that would be comparable to the CS Frost version that is little granules. Strahl & Pitsch (sp??) offers one that is little beads or pellets, and it is also very similar to the CS frost type design. I don't know of any company that carries this line, you would have to go to their website and order directly from them. ETA: the problems you experienced are problem common to all Palm, so not sure another company's product is going to help that much.
  4. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on Peak's Gardenia, please.
  5. I saw on CNN that the federal government has increased the mileage rate to 58.5 cents per mile effective July 1.
  6. I didn't know a patella had a certain odor. Learn something new every day!
  7. you will have to pour higher if doing a blend, but you will have to test to find the right number. As a starting point, you could take a weighted average of the pouring temp for soy and the pouring temp for paraffin and start there.
  8. I find the BCN Wick Your Wax Cinnamon is very strong and throws well.
  9. I really don't want to belabor the point and this is my last point on this topic, but given the wording in your initial post, I think it is clear to see how we would think that is your intent. No one would have a problem with you doing something for your own information, that's just sharp shopping.
  10. fo·rum (fôrm, fr-) n. pl. fo·rums also fo·ra (fôr, fr) 1. a. The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business. b. A public meeting place for open discussion. c. A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper or a radio or television program. 2. A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation. 3. A court of law; a tribunal. bubblebath, if you're not prepared to have people discuss your thoughts, maybe you shouldn't state them. I agree with Stella on this, I think it would be a slap in the face of the company that so graciously sponsors this site.
  11. Whenever you get emails with really bad grammar.. you should immediately think scam. My concern would be that by responding to this email, they can pull information like IP address etc and use it in more nefarious ways.
  12. Judy, thank you thank you thank you!!!! This information is so important to us, I think it should be stickied. I will read every word. To the original poster, I am very sorry for hijacking the thread, but it seemed the logical time to ask the questions.
  13. I ordered on line over the weekend.. and realized I forgot something and sent an email immediately. They responded Monday morning and added in the additional items. I think it's just where they are in the filling process determines whether they can do it or not. I've had nothing but good experience with BCN, so please don't let one bad thing sway you.
  14. Is there one source to find out all of the laws related to candle making? This would be very good to know. Sorry for hijacking a bit..... it sounds like this lady wants a private label.. so you need to decide whether you want to do that or not.
  15. Sorry.. number 1 wasn't a question per se... just a statement of fact. Thanks for the answers so far!
  16. Hi all, I'm getting close to the point of incorporating and selling. But want to understand how ppl handle the following situation: 1. You gain a wholesale account. 2. you have a website of your own. 3. Do you dictate the price that the retailer sells your candle at? ( I would think the answer is no) 4. Do you put your website on the label of your wholesale acct candles? 5. What is the relationship of the store retail price vs web site price? 6. do retailers get upset if web site price is lower? 7. do retailers get upset if web site is on candle label or box? Thanks in advance for any information you share.
  17. I asked about metal lids for tumblers about 6 months ago and they said that they current do not, but they have plans in the "distant future". I have worked with Ron and he was very very nice.
  18. Try twisting the wick when you set up your candle. The wax will cool, keeping it twisted, and then it will untwist as the candle is used. Rotating the cold spot and keeping your melt pool fairly even.
  19. longer cure might help as well... try two weeks... you may be able to get away with less, but you should be able to tell hot throw for sure with two weeks.
  20. I never had this problem when I was using straight CB135. And I just let me tumblers cool on the kitchen counter.
  21. That thread pretty much sums it up, but I will add that as a precaution, I never have a candle lit in my work area when making other candles. Just to be safe... but beyond that, I don't worry about flash points.
  22. Peak's has a nice White Tea and Ginger, if that's what you're looking for.
  23. I use CB135, I have some comments within your quote in bold.
