  1. OK guys. I am trying out the 16oz apothecary with Peaks Amish Harvest. I tried one with one 51-z wick with no luck. Second try was with one 60z and it smoked to high heaven!! I have never had a wick produce so much black soot in such a short period of time. So I blew it out, let it set back up, then re-lit. Did the same thing. Now I am trying 2 44-32z and doing fine. My question is why did the 60z smoke so darn bad? Anyone else ever had that happen?
  2. Now, you know I am LOVING the Steelers hurricanes! Those are great! Nice display and glad you did well!!
  3. And thought that someone may be able to use these http://www.bayleysboxes.com/bag%20box.html
  4. I did have ALOT of candles...I had no idea how much to have on hand, so I had been stocking up for a couple of months. I currently carry 4 sizes, so I had to pour all 4 for each scent in mass quantity:tongue2: I think I am going to soon discontinue the 4oz jar. Doesn't seem to sell as well as the others. I carry 6oz tins, 8oz tins, and 8oz jars. Going to be adding a 16oz apothecary soon, so something must go! I also need to narrow down my scents, but just can't do it!!!
  5. The show went well I think for my first ever...made right at 5x the booth fee. The only thing I would have done different on this set up was raise the last row of tarts higher, but at that time I didn't have any risers left to do that. The tart containers are glass containers from the dollar store, $2 a piece. I really like them because I just leave them in those containers for storage at home as well.
  6. Here's one more. Sorry the pics are so small.
  7. I hope this works, still trying to figure this out! Here are some pictures from my first show ever! It was in September.
  8. Anyone have any luck with this? I use J223 and 1oz llb, and don't get much of a hot throw. cold throw is great. Any suggestions?
  9. I was so excited when I poured this a few nights ago...smelled WONDERFUL! But, just like Trish, when burning I got an awful fuel smell:cry2: I was so hoping this would work because man does it smell good! Oh well, back to the drawing board!
  10. I just wanted to add that I'm learning fast that people in my area want larger jars. Currently, my largest jar is the 8oz jelly jar, but I am now testing the 16oz apothecary because of numerous requests for larger jars:confused:
  11. I use J223, and I think It may be a little bit of candle nose. It seems I can't smell anything anymore:tongue2: I think I've done burnt up all of my smell receptors!!!
  12. I poured Just Scent Cinnamon Vanilla and can't smell a thing when burning? Anyone else find this to be not one of the best scents from Becky? Any suggestions as to who has the best one of these, or should I just mix my own? Thanks!
  13. I use J223 and found this to be a lighter scent, but still really good! I use 44-32 wicks with no problems.
  14. Good for you! That must have been a wonderful feeling!
  15. What is the equivalent to a 44-24-18z wick? For instance, if I wanted to try an HTP wick in in place of my 44z, which one would I chose?
  16. What about the fumes and pregnancy? Is is a no no to make candles while you are pregnant (I'm not, just curious, you know, just in case!)?
  17. Wow!!! I would definitely buy those for stocking stuffers! You do an amazing job!
  18. I agree with Chele that everyone's prices seem so low...or maybe I am just charging to much! I sell my 8oz for $8 and don't seem to have too many people complaining about the price. I have to have EVERYTHING shipped since I can't find straight sided jars around here.:undecided
  19. It would help the throw as well because the larger the melt pool, the stronger the throw (the throw comes from the melt pool). If the wax is melting all the way out, that would increase the melt pool, thus increasing scent throw.
  20. OK...I too am officially a JS addict!! Seriously, I LOVE them! The Ultimate Vanilla is wonderful, and I just poured the Chestnuts and Brown Sugar and WOW!!!! I told my husband last night that it is my new favorite...that along with the Cinnamon Cider! I am so glad I found Becky!
