  1. Gosh, I was just thinking about this last night! I haven't forgotten dye or scent recently, but trying to keep all the orders straight and figuring out what to make next is driving me bonkers!! This is my first Christmas season selling, so this is new to me. I'm loving the cash, but geesh, this is turning into work!!!
  2. Thanks - I figured I just missed it somewhere along the line!
  3. This has probably been covered already, but just in case it hasn't, according to WSP's website, J223 is now called IGI 4633:smiley2:
  4. I have had success with J223 and using 2 44-32z wicks on the 16oz apothecary. Last night I trimmed the wicks to short, and of course it didn't burn right, but other than that everything has worked fine in every scent I have tested so far (about 5). HTH
  5. Where in the world did you get that beautiful bear Candleman? I love your basket by the way!
  6. I can definitely detect a fuel smell in J223, but my husband doesn't. Guess it just depends on your nose!
  7. I bought all that the Target I frequent had about two weeks ago. I used them for candles, and they worked WONDERFUL! They were 99 Cents each. I love how you decided to use them as well!
  8. Looks great. I did notice one error on the smelly jelly description. It just ends with "and can also be used..." Otherwise, looks terrific
  9. I have been testing the 16oz apothecary with J223 and have had the best luck with 2 44's on the lighter scents, haven't tried any vanilla's and such at this point. I tried the 51z and the 60z and I got ALOT of black smoke with both, although I did get a full melt pool with the 60z. I just don't want the smoke to be an issue, so I am using 2 wicks. HTH
  10. I have always designed my own labels and been pleased with what I have done. I am in the process of designing a label for my new 16oz apothecary and I am wanting to change the style of this label up a bit. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to round out edges, or do some "shading" (where it looks like it is fading out on the edges). I use Printmaster 15 or Avery Design Pro. I tried this weekend to figure it out, but was unsuccessful. Please help!
  11. Good job Robin! The pillars are beautiful!
  12. :yay: That was my suggestion! Yippee! (yes, I am easily amused)
  13. I would try something I never have, like Gold Canyon, Mia Bella, or Tyler.:smiley2:
  14. Update...tested one last night and turned out fine. The throw was not as strong as the norm, but I could still smell it in the kitchen (the burner is in the living room). Thanks for all input!
  15. Those are cute...I found some similar to that at Target for $1 last week. I agree, it bites having to test for just a few candles, but they are so cute, its worth it!
  16. Oh, they are done. Took them out of the molds this morning. I haven't had a chance to test yet because I am at work. They popped out of the mold very easily, and the appearance is what I would consider normal. I will test one tonight, just curious if anyone else had used this wax for this purpose before:cool2:
  17. OK...oops on my part. Last night I made Creme Brulee tarts. After the fact, I realized I had used IGI 1343 instead of IGI 4794 (what I always use). Long story as to how the mix up occurred, but it happened. Haven't tested one yet to see what happens, but do you guys think the tarts will be fine? Just wondering if anyone else has used 1343 for tarts. Thanks!
  18. Blackberry Sage, Lavender, Rose Bouquet, Pink Sugar, Amish Harvest, Midsummer Night, Mountain Lake.... May be easier to list ones that we haven't gotten a good throw from!
  19. Wow!! Great job and the display is beautiful!
  20. Wow...I don't know what to say. I know personally how it feels to be shunned by a coworker who you thought was one of your best friends, so I can relate to that, but to have them trash you to other coworkers is just unbelievable. If you made an exploding candle, why didn't they tell YOU that first? I wonder, do you think one or both of them are trying to steal your ideas? I mean, do you think maybe THEY are trying to start making candles now and want to steal business from you? don't know...just ideas. I'm so sorry this has happened to you...I know what its like. But no matter what keep telling yourself that you are good at what you do and keep chugging along. Trust me, you will find other customers. Just keep trying!!!
  21. Trish- I am trying two wicks now...two 44-32z and so far so good. I just couldn't believe how bad the 60z smoked:( I was really wanting to get away with one wick, especially since I have never double wicked before...guess there is a first time for everything!!!
