  1. Yes, he's a very nice guy and it's good to know that they listen to the customer. Good job Fern:grin2:
  2. In order of popularity: Coconut Lime Verbena Sweet Pea Rice Flower & Shea none on the others
  3. Crafty, I like the way ash looks on some bars. It kinda gives it a topped with frosting look to me.
  4. Those are the ones I was talking about!! Sorry I thought they were oval, didn't realize they were round. Must be one of those optical illusions:p I think those are awesome.
  5. Someone posted a pic of their label on the dish for malibus and it was an oval. Looked great. I'm going to try it because I haven't found a rectangle one that fit or looked decent.
  6. Can't remember where I read it but I'm thinking it was 10 drops max. per lb. for liquid dye. I think that may be because of the chemical smell. I know I have used more than that trying to achieve a bright red without any ill affects.
  7. Just in case no one has mentioned it:D those are incredibly awesome!!! I thought they were decorative plates with small snowflake soaps on them. Excellent job and what a clever idea!! If you do a co-op then I'm in for some of the paper.
  8. That would be my suggestion also. I had that happen to one batch and it came out ok after cooking in the crock. Sure hope it wasn't the fo because I wanted to soap that one.
  9. Excellent job!! They all look stunning!!
  10. Funny, I do the same thing except I print 1/2 the page and then flip it around.
  11. Gotta chuckle at your description and it's so true. Just give me a straight sale price without the mumbo jumbo.
  12. One of my coworkers orders it by the lb and puts it in organza bags. She says she can use them several times before they start discoloring from the herbs. I mix hers with various herbs, powered whole milk, goats milk and coconut milk along with some shea oil and lavender eo. She loves it and says she doesn't want to take a bath unless she has some of my bath tea mix.
  13. Cajun Candles patchouli smells more like the eo than any other that I tried.
  14. Both of these are my two new favorites. Excellent throw in the 70/30. I ordered 3 lbs each in the prebuy and I'm thinking I probably should have gotten 5 of each. Everyone that gets a whiff wants one ( or more:grin2: )
  15. No, I noticed the same thing in the 70/30 but I figured it was caused by the horrendously hot weather we have been having. I have been test burning numerous fo's and so far it hasn't made a difference in the burn .
  16. When I use to bother making votives I used the V mixed with container wax. ( off the top of my head I think it was 12 oz V with 4 oz 4627 ) increased the scent throw a lot and lowered the mp. Used LX-12 for most scents.
  17. I keep most of my oils and butters in the refrigerator now. (I freeze my excess shea.) Since I'm a hobbyist only, I don't use them as quickly as someone with a business and of course when I first started out I wanted to try every single oil and butter out there:undecided . I was storing them on a shelf in my air conditioned kitchen and ended up throwing a lot of lbs of butters and oils in the trash:cry2: So to prevent having to do that again I just put them in the frig.
  18. Candle Cocoon's scent event oils have a " Muscadine Grape Wine" OOB it smells kinda rank but once it hits the wax it smells exactly like homemade muscadine wine. ( my brother makes his own wine ) It doesn't have that sour smell that wine has just the strong scent of muscadines.
  19. If you like bakery the " Sweet Potato Pie " is very strong and smells wonderful.
  20. They moved to SC, which bummed me out. I could order one day and it was on my porch the next.
  21. Not sure about the indent? but with palm wax the slower and warmer you can cool it the better. If it's cold where you are pouring, then turn your oven on until warm, turn it off and let the pillars cool there. Also make sure your molds are warm before pouring.
  22. Kigers24 would you mind also posting these results on the Greenleaf message board ( if you haven't already ) This thread will eventually make it to the back pages and since we have so many threads here on "Greenleaf" it may be hard to locate it using the search because so many posts will come up and this is the kind of info that is a wonderful tool for those of us that are in the process of testing fo's in the 70/30. I will add to it as I find great throwing fo's that aren't already listed. I just received my first case:cheesy2: After using up my first 10 lb slab I'm pretty sure that this is the wax I've been looking for :rolleyes2 Really appreciate you taking the time out to post your results:highfive: Tara, don't feel like to much of a dunce. I have done almost the same thing. Like other chandlers I'm a fanatic about safety and I don't know how I did such a brain dead thing but-----. I like to power burn in every single test candle because I know that customers do. I usually place them in the bathtub for the long burns ( in case that particular jar may suddenly decide to crack ) and yes I woke up one morning to find one still burning. :undecided I generally disconnect my presto rather than just turning it off and one night I had some wax on the lowest setting ( thank goodness!!!) I guess after I thought I had pulled the connector off, the magnets weren't fully disengaged and the next morning I went out to turn it on and almost had heart failure when I realized that it was still on:o Those are two major mistakes that I will not make again.
  23. In the past just about every time I read anything about using shea in your hair as a moisturizer it has been unanimous in saying that NO shea is NOT good for your hair. Well, now VS has a line of hair products touting the benefits of how good a conditioner shea is. My daughter-in-law is a VS and B&BW junkie and it's only been recent that she has become interested in wanting any of my " homemade " stuff since she has noticed that the oils and butters I have been using for several years are now becoming popular in brand name products. ( shea being a good example ). So what do any of you know about using shea in hair products??
  24. I was looking at some bathbombs in Wally World and they were as hard as concrete ( really hard and smooth) My DD had used them in the past and said they were great. Lots of fizzing action and strong aroma. As always when perusing B&B products I read the ingredient list and aside from the usual, Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, fo and color it had this sodium sesquicarbonate listed. I googled it and as far as I can tell it is very similar to the bicarbonate and " The Chemistry Store " sells it. Has anyone used it in their bombs yet? I was curious if prehaps this was the secret as to how hard their bombs are??
