  1. love that color and those little tarts are really cool and look great around the pillar! Great pic!
  2. heat gun or blow dryer will melt it and then you wipe it-easy peasy.
  3. I think if you're going to use terra cotta pots for citronella candles (which usually have a bigger wick) you should probably use the ones that have a fired sealant on the inside. I make terra cotta pots for candles (small ones) and use the modge podge to seal them, but I'm also using smaller wicks with these and will NOT under any circumstances refill these after they've been burned once (except for myself). As for the tins, seamless would be best, but I also paint the seamed tins with modge podge, but then again, the ones I use are smaller, so again, smaller wicks. You CAN find seamless buckets for these candles, I've seen citronella candles in these, so some supplier has to have them-just a matter of hunting them down (which is such a PITA). Good luck, and if you find some, please share.
  4. I make those also (I think I have some pics. in the gallery somewhere ) and they are always a big hit in the summer time! I like the creamy look of yours! How funny I do MINE in black cherry (bomb) also!! Oh, and I got my molds at Wallyworld!
  5. I buy from them every once in a while (when I run out from a big order/coop) and they are very good to deal with. Of course I'm only about 2 hours from them, so that makes it even better. I did not know they were selling the bases in bulk though. Thanks for that.
  6. This is exactly what I do! That way I usually always have scrub base on hand.
  7. Well, since you haven't gotten any replies I thought I'd just mention that although I haven't sent anything to the Ukraine, I HAVE used USPS international priority to GB, and although it takes quite a while to get to it's destination, it is the least inexpensive of the shipping options and worked out fine for me, using the USPS site to print the customs forms and postage. HTH a little.
  8. What does the lemongrass do in regards to taking them camping? Or- did you mean Citronella? Definitely want seamless, and if a site does NOT state whether they are/aren't, you should definitely call them and ask. Oh and you'll have to at LEAST double wick these (I've even seen them triple wicked), as they are so wide, I don't even think the biggest wick you could find (besides a rope LOL) would work, and even then like schmoopie stated, it would just be a TORCH! LOL
  9. All this time I've just thought of oreos as being black! LOL
  10. I too love the crackled chunk pillars, but oh my, I'm really diggin' those bottom crackled pillars- I want those!!! Awesome job on all of those!!
  11. Awesome!! Yes, please let me know! Thanks
  12. That is a cute idea! Those definitely would make nice gifts!
  13. Walmart has a HUGE HM section now! Frankly, I'm sick of seeing HM stuff everywhere. LOL If you're wanting to make something, I like Sharon's idea of decoupaging pics. onto something.
  14. That is darling! What a cool idea, to use the button covers. How did you make the rings? My daughter would love those for sure.
  15. I WANT THAT APRON!! Love it! That eye glasses case is tooo cute with the embroidered name-love the font with the hibiscus flowers!! You're too good! Hey, do you make bible "purses" aka bible covers w/handles?
  16. Those are adorable, and very unique. Good job!
  17. Yep, our dollar tree has those bags as well, they work great too! So, whenever I run out of bags that I've ordered online, I know I can just run to the dollar tree and get some for a buck! And the bags are pretty good size too. I've also done what you're trying to do with the roll, and it works very well, you just need to go slower cuz you really need to hold it together and also hold the top taut if you want it to have ends. Let us know how it goes.
  18. LOL, good for you!! Hey, I've been thinking of doing the same with some broken jewelry I have, where did you take it? And do you mind me asking how much the necklaces ended up weighing? I figure the stuff I have can't be anywhere near an ounce, but hey, I'd rather have the money then have them just sitting in my jewelry box forever.
  19. Dang, what are those liners made out of-GOLD??? Whew, pricey little dudes huh? I was thinking they'd be waaaaay cheaper I guess. I'll just have to stick with what I've got here I guess. Let us know how you like them.
  20. Yah, but ya gotta make sure the toe is stuffed as well-the newspaper works fine and is most always handy.
  21. EXACTLY! A business is a business no matter if they are the post office, grocery store or a little ol' home candle business-thus, they can charge whatever the heck they want, however they want to do so, and if you don't like it, then you take your business elsewhere-it's as simple as that!
  22. I think finding old cowboy boots at a thrift store or whatever would be awesome with how you want to paint them! Ok, my MIL took my hubby's little bitty cowboy boots from when he was a kid and had them dipped in laquer or urethane and those suckers are stiff as can be and actually displayed up on a shelf in our house-too cute! What you can do, is find the boots, paint them the way you want (like the Texas flag) and then get a big soup pot and fill with the laquer/urethane and then dip them. You may have to do a couple of coats, but they will definitely get stiff! I think like sockmonkey suggested, putting a glass inside would be your best bet if you want fresh flowers in the boots. What I would do is stuff the boots with newspaper before dipping so that they keep their shape and that way you'll have a space for the glass/vase. If you do these, I'd LOVE to see a pic. of the finished product! Sounds like such a FUN project!
  23. Love those! Excellent job on the boxes-way to use up that HUGE roll! Men! LOL Hey speaking of the boxes, did you have to reinforce them with anything or is the paper heavy enough? Love how you made the handles out of the twisty paper also. What's in the darling burlap sack?
  24. I would suggest that you do a search for these cuz it's kinda hard to explain how they work. I found a great site (can't remember it right now of course ) that sells a complete kit and then you just have to find the bottom part (jar, vase, etc.) That will fit the diameter of the wick holder. That's the fun part of it- you can use just about anything as the base as long as it's heat resistant and the opening fits.
