  1. If I have this in the wrong section please feel free to move. My minolta 2300W is telling me I need a new black toner. Is there anything I need to look for when buying one? I thought I could get one off ebay for a good price, about 60.00. What about this waste bottle thing, do I need that, or how am I supposed to know if I need it? Are these toners easy to install? My book doesn't tell me squat about how to install it. TIA for any info you can give me on this. I'm always scared to do anything when it comes to printer or computers, just know I'll screw it up instead of fixing it.
  2. You can get some good emu on ebay.
  3. I love these bath melts. I take showers 99.9% of the time, but I had to test these since I was going to be selling them, and they are wonderful. So easy and fun to make. I just used the mini muffin tin from Walmart (don't fill them full) and then wrapped them in candy foils of different colors, then into a acetate box, they sure look like little candies, and smell like it too. My hands were getting so dry from this dry winter weather so I melted one in a small dish and set it next to the kitchen sink. Before I go to bed I wash my hands, then I heat the bath melt in the microwave enough to melt the cocoa butter and dip my hands in it and pat dry. I am amazed at how it healed my hands. I'm sold on those little buggers just for my hands I know no one asked my opinion, but just wanted to let you all know that Bunny is right, don't make these to big. Mine average 1/2 oz, and that's plenty for me, I don't want to feel all greasy getting out of the tub. Just my .2 worth.
  4. Maybe nothing to most people, but to me, my votives slide out of the mold better than when I was using the metal ones. And I never have to worry about rust with the aluminum ones.
  5. Very interesting Vanmala, I never knew that about Mistletoe. It's really beautiful Satin, not what I've ever seen. You know, the dried nasty looking stuff in the craft stores. I'd put a sprig on my Christmas candles, could be a great selling point, at least to someone like me who's never seen the real stuff.
  6. Beautiful table setting, and beautiful centerpiece.
  7. Love those blue ones, so soft looking, perfect with the angel.
  8. I agree with sudsnwick, get it on paper, and make sure she's fair.
  9. Wick stickum and I use the wick bars that Peaks sells, love them.
  10. That is super!!! My kind of show.......alone, and people are there to buy, not browse. Plus the fact that it ended up being a fundraiser sort of gives people a little "push" that they might need, after all, they have to support the school
  11. After about a year of using the metal votive molds I went on a search for the aluminum ones. Found them at Missys, (this was about 4 years ago) I know they're no longer in business, but I'm sure they are still out there some place. I would never go back to the metal. But let me tell you, 1/2 the suppliers out there don't know if they have metal or aluminum votive molds. I can't tell you how many of them I had to ask to put a magnet to them to see if they were metal or not. Even had some swear to me that they were alumimun, only to find out when I got them they were metal. I'm just glad I got enough of the aluminum molds from Missy so I don't have to go through that search again. But back to your question, I heard if you just keep them in a box with newspaper the newspaper will absorb any moisture you may have, never tried it, but that's what I read.
  12. I agree with top, I have a piece of iron on my work bench about 3"x4" that I give the tip of the pin a whack on, that will push it out enough to grab and then I can pull it out the rest of the way.
  13. Levine is a good place to get burners. Shipping is reasonable and fast, and they have a good selection to choose from. ETA website http://www.levinegifts.com/index.html
  14. Thanks Edensong, that's another good calculator to use......I only see one, think you meant to put down 2 I did see that MMS suggestion, and I'm trying to follow it. First I had to learn which oils are hard, room temp, bittle, it's been a learning experience for sure
  15. Well that sucks, I know how much work it is to set up for a show and tear down. I've said this before and I'll say it again....I do shows for the money, not for my health or good time, if I'm not going to walk away with a pocket full of money then it just isn't worth my time. But don't give up, the next one could be 10x your booth fee. You will learn which shows to do and which ones not to do. Sort of trial and error.
  16. Yes indeed, I would have to say you got it!!! Those really are beautiful. I know what you mean about taking them out of the mold and seeing that they are actually what you had hoped for. It took me over a year to burn my first rustic that turned out well. It's such a good feeling. Good job!!
  17. I have to agree, the WSP base is best if you want "clear". I use SFIC base for anything that doesn't have to be clear just because I like thier base better, but their clear is NOT clear, has that yellow tint to it, hate it. And I've been using the stabilizer from WSP for a few years and it's amazing how well it works. Plus I have to throw this in....the neutralizer they have for lotions has worked so well on my vanilla scents. My vanilla based oils would always turn my lotion brown, now I have some that are over a year old and they are still beautifully colored, I just love that stuff. And I don't think the log is that bad, not what you were after, and I understand your frustration, but most people wouldn't even realize it's got a hint of yellow to it. Another thought, maybe when it's cut into thin slices it won't look so yellow, just like the logs of the clear base, it looks so yellow, then when you take a slice of it the yellow isn't quite as noticable.
  18. BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And yes, I'm screaming that!!
  19. I called all over town, all health food places and stores like that and had little luck, and when I did find it the price was unreal. I heard that they may carrry it at your local wine/beer making store. I didn't try that so I can't say one way or another of the cost. I ended up getting it at MMS since I had to order other supplies anyway. HTH
  20. Here is another place, fast shipping, and not bad prices. http://www.levinegifts.com/
  21. Great site Robin! I have it book marked so I won't lose it. I can't believe how many hours I've spent trying to come up with a good recipe, and that's just for lip balm. I don't think I'll be venturing into CP in the near future........takes longer to get the recipe than to make the stuff. Thanks again.
  22. Well, I don't make anything but MP so take this for what it's worth.....I think it looks really nice, and I would be thrilled if my first attempt came out 1/2 that nice. Make sure you post after using it, would love to know how it feels.
  23. See, told you I felt ignorant, and now you've proven that I am I just tried it and it worked great, I guess I thought it was for soapers only. Now I have to find which is the best calculator out there, any suggestions. I did a google search and found several, they all seem different, but probably do the same thing in the end.
  24. Oh, I love the coloring on those. And your wrapping is great.
