  1. Well if it smells bad this doesn't sound like a good product? Or does it just smell bad in large quantities but the FO should cover the smell?
  2. Can anyone suggest something I might be able to do to stop my lotions (usually pink sugar or others containing vanilla) from browning/tanning/discoloring? Forgot to say that I use bases... if that matters. And I don't use dyes. TIA
  3. Oh my goodness! Remind me to never ask Scented to look over my site! I don't want to know how bad my grammar is!!! Especially since my fiance is an English major graduate, he would be so disappointed in me! But WOW what a thorough website critique. Just wanted to say great critique Scented, but you should charge for all that work! Best I can do is critique based on functionality! That's all they taught us in college (Web Programming)... English is a different major! LOL.
  4. If you dont' already you could try adding a bit of beeswax (or crisco, or coconut oil) which are supposed to help throw but I don't know! Just trying to help!
  5. The one in my town (bigger city) is 100/mo and you have to sign a year contract... $30.00/mo would be awesome! The 100/mo scared me off because when I was there they just didn't have enough people in the store/mall to justify that amount of money, and I especially hate contracts. I don't feel like the particular craft mall did much advertising to get folks in there.
  6. Hope you aren't paying this guy too much!
  7. This is a million times better than my first jewelry attempt! Very pretty!
  8. If you will just be accepting credit cards through PayPal you do not need a SSL Certificate.
  9. May I ask... what are those gold wrapped items in the "chocolate" pics? Are those bath truffles? Your presentation is amazing, anyone would be lucky to get these!
  10. Oh the sun is fine, don't get me wrong, it's just I have bad eyes and for whatever reason the wiggly sun rays distract me. I'm sure no one else will have any trouble with it! Very impressive for doing it yourself too I must say!
  11. 6% by weight? Could your scale be off? That really shouldn't be too much... perhaps the weather is the culprit but when FO seeps out that tends to mean too much FO. Hmm.
  12. Very nice. All the pictures work, all the links work, good color scheme (although I'm not sure about the "sun" background image - a little distracting to me). Easy to read/follow layout. Each page within in the site matches the next (consistancy is key!) All-in-all very good work! Did you do it yourself or did you hire a web designer? Also, I like your cart, did you program it yourself or did you purchase an already made cart out there? Great work!!
  13. If you get more than enough sales to make up for your advertising cost then it's worth it. But she was originally asking (or so I thought) about certain places that enter your URL into the search engines so you can be found. They claim to submit your site to all the major search engines (and minor ones) but this is a simple task that anyone can do. But you make a good point. Without some form of advertising on-line or off, it's unlikely your website will be found through any search engine by a large enough amount of people. Most just look at the first few pages of results at Google, Yahoo, etc. Just google "candle" or "soy candle" and see how many results pop up. It'll be a lot of hard work to get into that top 10!
  14. She didn't say "all natural" in the first place. Anyway, I would recommend adding the FO at 170-175 and see if it improves. I used to get a similiar thing in my browns when I used to add FO at a cooler temp. Sometimes wax instructions, although they say pour at such-n-such a temp are wrong!
  15. Well I think Mike was just trying to post a fun thread... but I shouldn't speak for him, that's just the impression I got from the first post.
  16. CSAS - you jinxed me! Today I poured my first FO that didn't mix with DPG! Grr! If anyone is curious it was "Country Sunshine" from Bitter Creek South... at least I only spent .99 on this FO!
  17. Thanks Jadryga... I have them in dropper bottles so the chance of water getting in there is pretty slim. They are 2 ounce bottles so they would probably get used up within their shelf life time anyway.
  18. Does anyone that make these oils for home scenting purposes find that the more the mixed FO + DPG sit the stronger they get? I'm making mine at a 40/60 (FO/DPG) ratio and finding that OOB the oils do not smell very strong and I guess I'm hoping that they will improve OOB after sitting awhile. They are find in the burner but I would think that the first thing someone would do when receiving a bottle of this would open it and smell it. I want them to get a good first impression. TIA
  19. Wow the glass looks thin on those. Very pretty containers though.
  20. Has anyone tried this and been able to get a successful throw?
  21. Using sun light helped me get better pictures... as well as a better camera! Hopefully someone will give you more info... I know I'm not very helpful LOL!
  22. I like alphabetical because as a shopper/consumer I like things that are easy to find, for me, that would be alphabetical. I don't like to dilly dally looking for things I want to find them, buy them and go.
  23. Is this necessary? My bath oils contain various oils and Vitamin E.... is a perservative necessary? Or can I just put a shelf life on the bottle? I am planning on selling this to the public.
  24. I liked SOS for B&B... haven't tried them in candles yet. SOS has free shipping over a certain amount. I haven't tried NG yet so can't comment on that one.
