  1. Oh good to know. I was considering calling tomorrow because I'm so frustrated with them! I placed an order with them before, no trouble and was very happy with it, this time it's been over a week and no word from them so I'm getting a little worried. I'm just shocked when an online business doesn't respond to emails. I just find that a really poor way to run a business!! I'd rather hear "Sorry we are super busy and just swamped, but we'll get your order out as soon as we possibly can" instead of ignored emails!! Before I got too nervous I just wanted to see if it was just me (an isolated incident)!
  2. Any one else ever have trouble getting emails back from this company? I contacted them 3 times and still no response. Getting pretty upset... I wonder if I'm the only one having issues??
  3. I just made my first batch of CP last week and the outside of the bars are solid... I can touch them and it won't leave finger prints but if I push in the center they "give" a little and feel spongy. I wonder if this is the same thing you are experiencing? Mine haven't cured for long but since this is my first batch of CP I wasn't quite sure what it should be like at this stage? I had assumed it would be harder and not "give". I'm kind of frustrated and worried I screwed it up. Kind of makes me want to give up on CP but everyone says its so rewarding and fun... but I might just go back to my HP!
  4. No milk or honey just the three oils mentioned. I've searched the forums and google and can't find any thing similar so it must be something I did.
  5. Update: Ok it's not dust or dirt because I just checked the pot I used to mix the soap and that has developed the specks too. I'll try to see if I can get a picture tomorrow but they are so small I don't know if they will photograph. Incase this matters to someone, oils used: Grapeseed, Coconut, & Canola Hopefully someone can shed some light on the subject.
  6. I guess maybe I did forget to clean the mold. I dunno! I thought I did... but I looked at the bars of soap again and the specks are just at the top so it would make sense that dust would settle there. Knowing me I probably cleaned one mold then used a different one. Lol! Back to the drawing board!
  7. Nope, one was Love Spell Type and the other Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper.
  8. Well I'm pretty sure the molds were clean, but I question that myself that maybe I did forget. But the specks weren't there right away, they kind of developed after about 24 hours and then seemed to get worse. About the Pam, normally I spray but I totally forgot this time... probably because I was excited about making my first batch of CP... afterwards I was bonking myself! I'll try to post a picture tomorrow, but the best way I can describe it for now is they almost look like they were lightly sprinkled with cinnamon.
  9. I'm hoping someone can help me. I just made my first batch of CP Soap, this has never happened with my HP Soap... I used Milky Way molds, no dyes, and I had to pop them in the freezer to get them out, but they have this weird tiny little brown specks at the top of the soap. Kind of looks like freckles! I think I can trim it off but I'd still like to know what it is! TIA
  10. If they have almost 100% been excluded that would mean that they are not vegan. (well most would be but is there really anyway to find out which still might contain animal products?)
  11. But FO's are synthetic fragrances. Mainly I ask because I see a lot of competitors selling candles and B&B with fragrance oil in them (not EO) as vegan. ubure - I think that there can be animal material in synthetic fragrances. However, I cannot quote where I read that because I can no longer find the website.
  12. Are fragrance oils considered vegan? Some say yes some say no. I want to know for sure! TIA
  13. I've only sold one thing at eCrater in the past 3 months. Doesn't seem to great but if you promote it to your currect customers and offer some kind of discount on their order if they refer people you could probably build up from there. But then again I only have my incense up at eCrater because I hate listing everything! Good luck though! eCrater is nice because you get to keep your profit (well except for PayPal fees!)
  14. I sell on eBay as well, and while I am currently making a profit, I haven't sold a single candle and only 1 clamshell wax melt. I price my things normally so of course people aren't going to buy my quality candles when they can get a candle that looks worse, smells worse, burns worse but only cost them a buck or two! But when I research eBay I often wondered that too, how could they be selling their tarts for so cheap (and candles). And if you go into the advanced search you can search completed listings by a certain seller and calculate it out, most are not making a profit from their eBay sales but that doesn't mean they aren't getting a huge profit from repeat customers off of eBay. You can only do so much research at eBay. *shrug*
  15. Pictures are a little fuzzy but other than that love the layout the colors and everything about your site. Not that I should talk about pictures I can't take a good one to save my life!
  16. How much titanium dioxide should I add? Or maybe I am worrying too much... I mean it doesn't look that bad. It's just I see so many white bars people are selling online that I just felt I must be doing something wrong.
  17. Is there a way to keep them white naturally? Un-naturally?
  18. These are just so old that they were the only ones left from that batch so I can't really say if it's happened to all of them I made or not because they got used... and I didn't hear any screaming from my customers about their melts growing chicken pox or acne. But it probably is frosting but you can imagine my concern as it is a very unique looking frosting. These have been in and out of boxes, car trunks, various weather conditions but they smell better (cold) than they did when I first poured them. Stella - I haven't cut them open to check... I'll have to do that but to be honest with you they looked so gross I didn't want to even touch them. My fiance was all worried they were growing toxic spores and said 'don't open them!' But when he wasn't looking I just had to touch but immediately washed my hands in a panic. I feel a bit more brave now though! I had just never seen anything like it before.
  19. it was blackberry sage... olive blossom did the same thing too actually turned it even more yellow. Maybe I'll have to start dying my soaps but I kind of do the more natural thing so I didn't want to but this yellow color isn't very pretty!
  20. If this is frosting this is the most unique frosting I have seen in all my candle-making. But it is possible they were stored in a box for at least a year. Oh forgot to mention that the little white bumps are slightly raised.
  21. Has this happened to anyone? Not sure what the deal is but my wax melts are developing these little white dots all over the melt... kind of looks like white chicken pox. Does this mean I have a bad batch of wax? Takes a couple months for these dots to develop but they look horrible! Any thoughts?
  22. Does anyone know why my M&P white soaps (no additional additives) are turning yellow after a couple days?
  23. I saw it but decided against it... I ran the numbers and decided it was more cost-effective to mix myself. Plus I use the cyclo and FCO in different products so it's nice to have them separated. Just wouldn't have worked well for me personally but might work for you.
  24. I create my own blends. But haven't really tried to sell them yet so I couldn't tell you how good it's doing! It was something I thought long and hard about, if I wanted to just rename or create and I decided to create so I'm kind of in that process right now... but I have a couple that turned out great and I can't wait to see how it goes.
