1. Ok, I'm not sure if I'm making sense sometimes or not. I think once you get this one going and happy with it you'll see having two is no problem! Then you'll want another, and another, and another!! Ok just kidding!!
2. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you wouldn't get any interest... I just meant you are losing business too because there will be a lot of people who wouldn't request an account because they don't have to do that with other suppliers, they would just go elsewhere. This is just me, but I wouldn't do it.
3. Oh no, I didn't mean I had a fool-proof way to evaluate OOB only! Sorry! I agree you can never FULLY know without testing in the products, but after awhile you can be a pretty good judge of things OOB, but of course that isn't always 100% accurate method. My intention with this thread was not to start any kind of arguement. I posted an OOB review please take it for what it is, if you don't like it, don't read it. Hopefully it will be of some help to someone who wasn't sure if they wanted to try SOS manufacture grade SOS concentratation but were hesitant. (I was asked in my other thread about 'making a mistake' to post what I thought when I got the oils, so I did so, I guess I should have kept it under the same thread). But some of the other factors, I personally use when evaluating: -Bubbling (shake the bottle, how quickly do the bubbles rise? Are there lots of bubbles? This is a good way to judge "thickness" of an oil. In my experience the thicker ones almost always are great throwers... but again this is not a fool-proof method. You just basically see what diluting agents different suppliers use or thier manufacturers. Play with different FO's from different suppliers to see how the oils can be a little different (but of course they can vary for each supplier too because they may be using different manufacturers). Again, I never meant to imply this method is some magical method for determining good oils verses bad oils, it's just another tool I use when evaluating my FOs and it works for me. This review is my OOB review and nothing more. I'm done with this thread because I don't really appreciate feeling like (whether it's true or not that's how I feel) I'm being attacked for posting something I thought would help others. If it didn't help anyone I wish it would have just been ignored instead of people making me feel like I wasted my time doing something I thought would be helpful (and per someone's request). Anyway, no hard feelings... I won't post any more OOB reviews to avoid this type of thing in the future.
4. Thanks! I am a littler nervous about water and plugged in things though!
5. Well this isn't a review of my website... I've actually avoided doing that here so I didn't start a paraffin/soy war. This is taken from my website, "Our container candles are not blends, they are made using 100% soy wax and a little dash of beeswax (another all natural wax) to make a slightly longer lasting candle." My candles are made USING 100% soy wax (not a blend) mixed with a bit of beeswax. I made sure to always use "USING" 100% soy wax but if I have somewhere where I do not word it correctly let me know via PM because I can't find it. I just don't want to have to explain on every page why I add a dash of beeswax, so I believe that wording I've choosen shouldn't make anyone feel deceived. It is possible that I missed the word "using" somewhere though. Thanks for your comments, but please let's keep this on topic. I couldn't handle reviews/comments on my website, I built the whole thing from scratch and it took forever, and I would take it too personally! LOL! And some people here (not saying you were) can be pretty harsh IMHO even though I know they are only trying to be helpful, I just can't put myself through that.
6. Whoopsy! That's an easy fix though! Thanks, I may have kept missing that forever... sometimes my mind throws in letters so I see them there when they really aren't!
7. I too like the flower. All the links I checked worked fine. I personally don't think anyone would sign up for an account for wholesale supplies though... and even if there are some that would you will lose a lot of business for those who won't. Just something to think about. Have you considered two separate sites one for your products and one for your supplies?
8. Well they are easier to fill but I would look smoother looking tops on my body butter, how is this achieved? Or is it a better look if it is more "uneven"?
9. I'm designing new labels for my products. I don't use dyes and want color on my labels. What I had been doing is changing the border color of each of my labels depending on the scent (Red & White = Strawberry Cheesecake, etc). But it's annoying to have to change my labels so much! So here it is: (only what's in the circle is the label)
10. Thanks Creative Body Essentials (I know that's not your real name! ) and Carol M. I think I might need to do the same. The more I think about it the more I feel like 2 or 4 ounces is just such a small amount of my cream. I could put it in a pump bottle but I think it's more "luxurious" in a jar. Do you agree? And 4 ounces of body butter could take a long time to use. I don't really want to give too much since my body butter doesn't contain perservatives, I don't want to risk it sitting on someone's shelf for years. Thanks again.
11. I'm pretty sure that the 2oz jar doesn't hold 2 ounce of my cream either... I'll have to make some more and weigh it next time. I guess it would probably better for me to put the cream in the 4 ounce jars and use the 2 ounce for body butters... because i think by weight the body butter is more than 2 ounces in the 2 ounce jar. Maybe! ETA: Nope just weighed my body butter and that is only 1.6 in the 2 ounce jars. Grr.
12. The way I read it was that he was being dumb and making excuses, when he actually had no intention of mailing her goods. OR maybe everything he mails out USPS without insurance has a tendancy of getting lost (not necessarily hi-jakced - but thanks for making me laugh).
13. Vitamin E too? I better make some room in the fridge! I was storing everything in a "rubbermaid" drawer thingy I have in my storage closet which is somewhat cool (we have AC) and it's always dark (except when I turn the lights on).
14. I want the chili one!!! Mmmm Chili *Homer Drool*
15. Well if the package I sent to my 'customer', I sure won't refund his money. It was a much larger amount and he was more then welcome to purchase insurance. I don't know what I would do... I just think he never sent your item because things don't go missing that often through the post office, that every time this guy sends something without insurance it get's lost. Give me a break.
16. Do we want to store it in the fridge? How about Shea, Shea in the fridge too? ETA: And forget what I said about mine being a little soft, it's not now, it probably was before because I had just received it in the mail and it's hot outside. Probably was just a little warmed up.
17. I think posting her name should be fine since it's most likely not her real name. On another board today there were some developements (Lol)! Apparently one of the folks who responded that they don't give out freebies got the email bounced back that the email no longer exists or something. But anyway I'm just mad because I didn't get one.
18. That doesn't even make sense to me. I'm not that familiar with eBay but I just sold a package there my first time and they winner of the auction didn't purchase insurance. Does this mean he won't get his package? I hope you aren't out too much money... what kind of banner was it? Make sure to leave him negative feedback if he doesn't work with you!
19. Yes, but I wish I could smell more of the other components to the mix... like more pineapple and more vanilla, thier cherry scent is very strong! But I like it. Some of the reviews on thier site said it was like cough syrup but I don't agree.
20. I just got some today mine is a little softer than you describe but not much. Probably depends where you get it from there will probably be slight variances I would guess.
21. I meant my jars hold 2 ounces I actually didn't weigh the product so I guess that would have been a good idea but I went crazy on it. It is intended for all over body use so maybe I could sell a 2 ounce sample jar and the 4 ounce would be my regular product. Thanks for you help everyone!
22. Well I just got my base today so I'm going through the 2oz jar pretty fast but I'm using it a lot more that I normally would. Evaluating if I like this new cream base, which I do, so therefore I'm just slathering it on! I guess I could offer both 2 and 4 ounce to solve the problem!
23. I was worried that people would want the labels to be different colored based on the scent, so that it would be easier to tell them apart. I guess I don't trust people enough to read the labels and know what scent they are getting. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!
24. Maybe I'd do a co-op but I'd really like to try a small amount before purchasing so much... Hmm. Let us know if you do decide to do a co-op.
