  1. I have found that the apothecary jars need a double wick to burn properly but, the one I tried out was a bit bigger........maybe 18 oz? Anyway, I use a jelly 16 oz and it's definatley a single wick for most fo's in 4627 using zinc of course. Th only thing I'm having trouble wicking is those darn tins! I'm about to make em all wickless! Oh and to get back to the subject posted........4627 does not glow it just melts really nice!
  2. Oooooooo! Very pretty soaps! I wish I had time to learn how to do this!!!! Much prettier than candles!
  3. My comment was to charge her wholesale price for the candles she wants to test after she provides the appropriate documentation.
  4. Hmmmmmmmmmm........now it's sounding weird!
  5. Just email her back and let her know that before you can discuss wholesale with her that you need to see a copy of her retail tax id (state tax id). After you see that let her know that you can send her candles at wholesale price to test. It's definately not unusual to have wholesale accounts from different states. But, by asking for the tax id you will know if she's legit for wholesale.
  6. I just went to order my glass from WSP and they had raised the price by $3 a case! Now I just think that's a bit excessive! So I found another supplier. Thanks WSP! Lost another customer due to your crazy price increases.
  7. Looking for a great margarita fo.......any ideas for a good strong one?
  8. I wick it with a 51z in 4627 and 16 zo jelly jar. Burns lovely and smells yummy! I can't wait to start pouring the fall & winter scents!
  9. 4627! The best throwing and consistant wax for me!
  10. Just stuck my finger in my candle............it's like thick vaseline.......kind of on the harder side...if I wanted to I could stick my finger through it....but..........why mess up my purty candle! It's vera Wang Princess and now my finger smells great! This is kind of a sick conversation so I'll stop now!
  11. I use the liquid dye from french and it has no solvent odor.
  12. I always add more fo when the tarts or wickless candle lose their scent with no problem. :smiley2:
  13. You know, I think I would melt them back down and re-mix and re-pour. Seepage is usually not enough mixing or too much fo. Using the heat gun isn't going to fix the problem. But, then I don't even use a heat gun and simply don't understand the need for one but hey, I'm old!
  14. Hmmmmm.............several of my candles have been outside in my hotter than heck sunroom the past couple of weeks, and even burned out there in the heat and none of them seeped or melted. I use the oh so soft 4627 which you would think would be melty. So, I guess I don't understand how that could happen..........
  15. The only other thing is the chemical breakdown after a long time for some fo's. Some will turn stinky after a year sometimes. Just sniff 'em!
  16. I quit making them recently......yours should be ok though. They just don't put out the scent like I think they should.
  17. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! That's my favorite all fall and winter!!!! CandleScience is the ONE!!!! :yay: :yay:
  18. Some oils soak up very slow, not at all, and very fast! Warm vanilla sugar..........I will not make becasue it is so thick it doesn't want to soak in. Cinnamon.......soaks up in a day! Crazy beads!
  19. I use 1 TBS per 1 cup of beads..........add some more beads!
  20. Alright......so what kind of mold do I need cause the magnet is not sticking to my mold...........it's aluminum........and I'm evidently stupid!
  21. Awwww! So nice! Keep up the good work and.......................................... Happy Anniversary! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
  22. Keep in mind that the manufacturers of FO such as Belle-Aire, Chemessence, French, Orchidia, IFT, etc............supply the FO samples to the suppliers. All of them formulate the FO's differently therefore that's why they smell different than others. The manufacturers also supply fragrance to other companies.........not just us. For ex: Belle Aire: Belle-Aire manufactures fragrances for personal care products, home fragrance products, and household and institutional/industrial cleaning products. Orchidia: Bring the Essence of Nature Into Your Environment If you produce consumer products requiring fragrances, or are simply looking for new ways to reduce unpleasant odors, Orchidia can bring the essences of nature into your environment. We employ an experienced staff of perfumers and chemists who utilize the latest technologies and old-fashioned hard work to create custom fragrances developed to meet your unique needs. IFT: Creations The targeted and talented perfumery staff at IFT, with the help of their classic training and knowledge of different aroma chemicals of natural and synthetic origin, can create your fragrances for almost any application. Duplications State-of-the-art equipment, with over 100 years of combined experience between our perfumery staff, helps us analyze any type of fragrance oils or finished products accurately and quickly. Applications Our fragrances are tested for stability in their final application: soaps, candles, lotions, etc…and when possible, directly into the customers' base. Equipment We have the latest technology in Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry. Also, the industry's finest automation equipment in our production facility and sample laboratory helps us to serve our customers better and faster than any other fragrance manufacturer. Chemessence: Chemessence, Inc. has been a wholesale fragrance manufacturer since 1964. Our fragrances can be used to scent candles, potpourri, waxes, cleaning compounds and a vast variety of other applications. Also, a company like Belle-Aire can have several different versions of Hot Baked Apple Pie with different lot numbers. So yes it is very possible that the Cinnamon you get from one company is the same cinnamon somewhere else with a different name (or not). Then there are the mixed FO's. Just like you mix some to create something, so does a supplier. The suppliers aren't going to tell you where they get your fav scent............cause that's a trade secret and if you knew, you could just go directly to the manufacturer and buy the oil for much less. But also you would have to buy in a larger quantity. Sorry this is so long! But, just an explanation!
  23. Sorry forgot about the wax type! IGI 4627!
