  1. I have been having trouble getting wax from my local supplier in Indianapolis and really hate paying shipping. I was looking at who was closest to me and wow........some people really jack up the shipping costs at nearly the same distance! I get these little emails from a place called the Candlemakers Store in Ohio and thought I would browse his website and he had my wax 4627 at what I would call a reasonable price. I still have sticker shock because I haven't bought wax since last Spring and the price has gone up so much. Anyway I needed wax and was prepared to pay a big UPS bill and to my shock his website was only charging me about $29. Then I got the actual paypal reciept and it was adjusted to just $20! Yeah for me!!!! I think this store has earned my business! It would have cost me much more in gas money to drive to Ohio and pick it up! By the way...I ordered it on Sunday night and it is being delivered this afternoon!!!! Perfect!
  2. The Sophia jars are Madison jars they just changed the name of them. I like those jars also and they've been around for a while, just do a search for madison jars. They also come with different colored lids.

    calculator?

For a 6 oz bottle, how much fo do I use for a 2% max concentration with air freshener base? Is there a calculator out there for this?
  4. I use paraffin 4627 and do not ever cure a candle as soon as it's completely cool I test burn.
  5. Put it in a warm oven to liquify and pour into a container. You wont be able to save the candle make in the mold though.
  6. I'm going to try playing with some tins I have had in storage for a while and when I attepted this last summer, I could not get the wicking down at all. I use 4627 and zincs. Is there a better wick for the tins? I have tried every combo of the zincs and can't seem to get it to work. TIA and Merry Christmas!!!
  7. Anyone seen this ANYWHERE????? Hubby smelled a candle from China that was called this and he liked it......so I thought I'd try to find some!
  8. I get mine from Newton Oil in Indy. Is that the petro company you are thinking about? I use 4627.
  9. I have ordered from IFT and definately don't spend 3K a year! They have a 10 lb min. But, if you get someone else to split it with they make great FOs! Thier Downey Lav/Van is the best! Oh and the Princess!!!! Someone did an IFT coop............can't remember who???!!!!!
  10. I got mine from IFT. Someone did a coop and I love it!!!!
  11. What state are you in? Buy close to save on shipping!
  12. Just picked up a tart from Yank and loved this scent! Anyone seen the oil? I know it's one of their new fall scents........LOVE IT & want to make me a candle! LOL!!!!
  13. That's too bad! I don't make one single candle until the fundraiser is paid. They should have turned in the money with the tally sheet! You are not to blame! If you change your mind and do another one I would print that all monies must be paid before candles are made. I'm sorry this happened to you!
  14. Regular zinc only, sometimes mushrooms, smoking only an issue when the wicks aren't trimmed. I use a wick trimmer to get into the jars with no problems.
  15. I have experimented in reducing the fo % and it does make a difference in the quality of fragrance throw. It's just not as strong at a reduced rate. Perhaps it is as strong as you would like it but, not my customers......they can tell the difference. But whatever, it's your choice!
  16. Hot glue gun & bic pen casing.......works every time without a single problem! Why spend $$$$ and eat into your profit? you have to use about a dime size area of hot glue to be sure it works great.
  17. Paraffin wax does not require a cure time at all. I have never had a seepage issue with the max load of fo in 4627. Some fo's just don't have a significant cold throw.
  18. Hi Willow! I always use 12% load not matter what the oil. As far as stirring and pouring temp, I'm not all that scientific! LOL! I stir until I think it's well mixed usually 80 times sometimes less.....temp.....probably around 180-185 ish. In my process I don't check the temp before I pour because I go from melter to mixing on a hotplate set at medium! As for cold throw, I don't worry too much about that becasue it's the hot throw that I'm looking for and it has to be strong. As I remember the could throw wasn't so strong on this fo but, the hot throw is great and really surprised me. I have only had one fo that I loved from BW that didn't have a good hot throw. If you want to try one with super cold throw try NG Doney Lav/Van! That one kicks butt cold. Indy PS...try about .51 per 8oz candle and test burn it........also, are you topping off after it cools?
  19. Try 12%....I have tested this oil and had no problems with this wax.
  20. I use Sinus Relief from NG and make melts with it. Everyone wants it for colds and stuffy heads!
  21. http://www.scentsationscandlesupplies.com/wax.htm I bought my last batch of 4627 from her and she was wonderful! Need to get back over there this weekend and get more!
  22. I use zincs and 16 oz Jelly Jars. Most of the CS oils throw very well in this wax even some I don't like! The 51Z looks to be good for the H&G House.
  23. I have only found one dreamsicle that throws well and it was from BCN. I have tried other because of the shipping and nothing else works as well. The other day though I poured a tester with Hansel & Gretel's House from Candlescience in this was and was floored by the hot & cold throw!
  24. Just a thought......give up the gloves and enjoy softer hands and cuticles! I love my 4627!
