  1. I also agree with this one. Pink Sugar is too musky for me- Children's Room would be perfect. -Kristi
  2. A customer is in search of a fragrance called Breakfast Tea... she bought some rustic pillars from Target several years ago in this scent and she'd like me to make her some more candles with it. I can't seem to find any Breakfast Tea or English Breakfast Tea or anything like it... any ideas? TIA! -Kristi
  3. Watch out, in those jars a perfect burn pool at the top can mean overwicked and sooting by the bottom! -Kristi
  4. I can't get over how much more I love this scent every time I light it! CS's pumpkin souffle is AWESOME! I've done pumpkin pies, pumpkin spice, pumpkin crunch cake, blah blah blah.... I LIKE pumpkins, but this has this awesome fresh baked creamy smell to it I can almost taste. Seriously, this one smells EXACTLY like my fresh baked pumpkin cream cheese muffins. And the scent seems to get smoother the longer it cures. And STRONG. A 4 oz apothacary will scent my great room, kitchen, and the hallway upstairs (no easy feat). I know, it's pumpkin, but WOW. It's PUMPKIN lol. -Kristi
  5. And I had better luck with CDs than HTPs... in fact, I LOVE my CDs... For wicking with the tapered jars, don't worry about hangup on the first part- it catches up by the bottom. You WANT extra wax around the tops since it will burn so much hotter at the bottom, otherwise you'll soot. -Kristi
  6. Yes, but was the suggested diameter for a paraffin blend or plain paraffin? Because an all veggie will need a higher wick every time... You may need to go even higher than a 104... -Kristi
  7. Have you tried WYW Vanilla Grapefruit? That's a great one, and strong and fresh at the same time. -Kristi
  8. Right now I have Wildberry Mousse, Pumpkin Souffle, Mistletoe, Cranberry Marmalade, Lavender Vanilla, Spicy Apples and Peaches, This Old House, Amish Harvest, Cinnamon Red Hots, Pink Sugar, Lovespell, Cool Water, French Vanilla Coffee, Bird of Paradise and Lick Me All Over. I will most likely trade out Cranberry Marmalade for Cranberry Chutney (I like the fresh smelling cranberries better) and the Spicy Apples and Peaches has alot of the same notes anyway. I mix the Pumpkin with the Coffee to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I *do* need a floral and it will most likely be Honeysuckle and a Gardenia. I also may do a Black Currant, but haven't decided. I don't really like Bird of Paradise, so I may phase that out too. I'm trying to pare down on suppliers and would like to get rid of NG scents in favor of TCS and CS (closer). -Kristi
  9. Sage Sweetgrass and Cedar from BNL at BCN is very nice. Comfy and outdoorsy and reminds me of summer. -Kristi
  10. CS Wildberry Mousse and BCN and TCS Country Berry Hotcakes. -Kristi
  11. My eggnog didn't do well last year, so it's not coming back. Spiced Cranberry, Orange Clove and Cranberry Balsam were hits. Bayberry was OK, but not that much interest compared to the others. Apple Cinnamon did really well too. All those were from NG. -Kristi
  12. I sell them for $2.50 each or 5/$10. They go FAST at Christmas time! I'm using an HTP-41 for most scents and get a 10 hour burn time even with the 6 mm wick tabs. So it's very similar to a votive, but people really like the look of it. They have a decent scent throw too- good enough for a small room and I even can smell them in my kitchen (pretty big). -Kristi
  13. They make much better birdfeeders! There's a craft thing somewhere out there on it. I wouldn't use them for candle glass- too iffy on whether they'd crack when put through that heat. -Kristi
  14. I have really good luck sales wise with 1.5 oz oval hex jars in place of votives... yes, they're a bit more, but people seem to really like them. -Kristi
  15. Thought I had this in here... hmmm.... NG's Passionate Kisses and TCS Caribbean Holiday -Kristi
  16. Pretty sure I did, but it's somewhere way back at the beginning of it! -Kristi
  17. since you can buy one clamshell at a time from Alabaster, why don't you just try? I use 464 and I'm more than a little curious too! -Kristi
  18. Musk is an instant headache for me, so I vote Passionate Kisses all the way (AKA Caribbean Holiday). -Kristi
  19. There's a theory that you could paint the inside with layers of Modge Podge to seal it, but that's labor intensive and might possibly still leak. I've had issues with SEVERAL other things from Candles and Supplies. They are on my never ever even if they're the only company in the world list. :rolleyes2 -Kristi
  20. It's similar (possibly the same) to Golden Brands 435 (not 135)... you'll have better luck finding the right number! :smiley2: -Kristi
  21. I'm using 464 and haven't had any problems, save the occasional frosting. No growing, no lack of throwing... -Kristi
  22. TCS's Amish Harvest is the same way, as is their Spicy Apples and Peaches. -Kristi
  23. Except for the fact that these were all stored in my draft free, window free candle room in my basement where the temperature is pretty much always the same- never more than 3 degrees or so fluctuation. I'm going with the troll theory. -Kristi
  24. You should do a search on this one- been talked about quite a bit. The typical answer is that "normal" fragrance load can be considered .5 oz/ lb, so triple scented would be 1.5 oz per pound. Honestly, I want a kick butt throw at 1 oz / lb or I don't use it. To me, it seems a waste of money to use more- it really doesn't help with good wax and oils. A wax can only absorb so much anyway, even with additives. -Kristi
  25. If you go to the site, just click on Newsletter and read before ordering to find out sales- for October it's this: Sale of the Month 1.00 off on all 8oz fragrances. Please put Oct. News in comments to get the deal. Will not show on cart invoice. -Kristi
