  1. Oh my, these are really fantastic! They are intoxicating and a treat to the senses. FO's are from The Scent Works -- my new favorite supplier. Instant Karma Lush Type Blue Sugar DKNY Be Delicious
  2. My 6 yr old daughter has had eczema since she was born. I did not hesitate using the prescription med her Dr gave us when I saw how misirable she was (3 months old) with her whole body covered with eczema rash from head to toe. The rash is quite itchy so treating it sooner the better to prevent infection from scratching. I only use the prescription creams now for occassional flareups especially in the winter. Rx meds are safe if used as directed. Untreated eczema causes unneccesary discomfort and may affect school age children's performance and self esteem. I make an 80% Olive Oil 20% Coconut oil castille soap for her and have recently developed a Rice Bran oil soap (with Castor oil, Coconut oil, Palm oil, Soybean oil) for her which is just as good but not slimy -- it's my facial bar . Soaps are completely scent free and colorant free. I also use Vanicream (not lotion) and the whole Free & Clear line (shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent for everyone's clothes). Hopefully, your son and my daughter are one of the 70% of children who will eventually outgrow their eczema. I'm more than happy to send you some of the handmade Castille soaps I make. They are Free even shipping. My email address is RNccu7@yahoo.com
  3. I don't do CPHP anymore, mainly CP now. I'm actually going to try this recipe again with Coconut Lime Verbena using CP. I say, let's go for it !
  4. I really love shea butter in my soap. Ooh, I bet your soap is incredible -- vintage soap is the best!
  5. Here's an update with pics. It's the most luxurious soap I've ever made and used. 5 months later, it's unbelievably wonderful! First photo (9/07) and latest photo (2/18/08) -- very prim looking but no DOS whatsoever on any of the bars.
  6. It's spelled "Psychedelic". I love the very colorful swirls! Such talent.
  7. Lovely display! I really like your presentation. Congratulation on doing so well on your first show. May I ask what kind of mold you used for your diamond tarts and where did you get them? More success to your candle business.
  8. I personally won't have any qualms about discontinuing a product that is not selling well. I also think that your response to the complaint was very professional. Educating your wholesale buyers about the proper use of your candles is very important as you've discovered since they will pass that along to their customers avoiding any future complaints.
  9. Your listings are quite entertaining! I will have to sit down tonight when I have more time to read some more. If I didn't make soap, I would definitely buy from you.
  10. Wow, I have been wanting a wooden soap dish for a while but just couldn't fine one I really like. I came here to browse through some wonderful posts when I saw this thread. Needless to say, I just bought the last lot of Soapmaker Man's oak soap dishes. I tell you, CT members are priceless! Thank you so much for making my shopping adventures so much fun. All my purchases for my addiction have been wonderful. :smiley2:
  11. I was quite addicted to HP but the labor involved made it monotonous after a while. I've been doing CP for the last 2 weeks and love it so much more! Everyone's right, it still takes at least 4 weeks for HP soap to dry. I have to say that my HP soaps from a year ago are ultra luxurious! I also used some of my CP soaps after 2 weeks and love the smooth texture and the loads of creamy lather. CP is so much easier in my opinion as well. BTW, my avatar is one of my HP soaps (Black Raspberry Vanilla) made a month ago.
  12. I love my heat gun, can't do without it. I use it mainly to clean my metal tart molds -- on high setting. Completely safe if you follow all the precautions stated by these lovely candlers. I plug all my electric gadgets that I use for candle and soapmaking in a high quality power strip then I just turn off the power strip when I'm done. Fire safety is a must as we all know.

  14. Your soaps are beautiful! Wonderful variety and stunning photos. :smiley2:
  15. Does the UV inhibitor prevent the uncolored wax from turning brownish or yellowish? I make soy tarts with the Ecosoya Pillar Blend. I don't use any colorant.
  16. Ooh, I love your soaps. Love the swirls and the upscale look on the 2nd pic. Very nice!
  17. You're in luck because I printed her instructions along with some photos of the soap stages. The sentences that are highlighted coincides with the photos (instructions and photos printed separately). I never really started the liquid soap project I had planned ages ago so I sold my unused KOH. Therefore, I will mail you the printouts if you PM me your address. Hope this will help you. The author's instructions are very easy to understand.
  18. Oh Wow! Your soaps look decadent. You did an awesome job!
  19. Not very successful on this one. There was a huge pool of oil sitting on the soap when I took it out of the oven the next day. I rebatched it. I'm now doing the regular CP method which I seem to prefer lately.
  20. Thanks everyone for their compliments! I've been on a soapmaking spree ever since having Tog Cutter. Just love it!
  21. I don't think they're ugly at all. I love the Prim look. I like both .
  22. I used the Tog Soap Cutter today to slice my 4 lb log CP Soap. I love it! So easy and slices beautifully. I'm getting into CP (taking a break from HP) once again and seem to prefer it lately. Soaps are scented with Sandalwood Vanilla Amber. I left a wonderful feedback for Paul since he deserves it! I will definitely buy from him again if I have the need for his wonderful items. Thanks for looking.
  23. I tried your CPOP method today. Soap is in the oven as we speak and I'm having such a hard time trying not to open the oven! I'm always peaking in there though. I'll post my results in a few days.
  24. Girl, I'll take the ocean anytime. We used to live in Palm Beach Gardens, FL where we were 10 minutes to the beach. Of course now that we live in Utah, I had to come up with a hobby to keep me busy so I don't get depressed . Thank goodness for soapmaking, candle tarts, working out and being a mom. Life is good!
  25. Thanks! I think I'll have a fit if my babies ever become a victim of DOS . If DOS does happen, when does it usually occur? Fortunately, I haven't had a problem with it even with my CP 80% OO castille soaps. I store my soaps in my insulated basement shop where it's always cool even when it's 100 degrees outside so hopefully that helps. I shall give you an update w/ pics.
