  1. Have not tried the Cedar in B&B, but it does nice in wax....it is a nice cedar to me. I have a couple of ounces I could pop in the mail to ya.....I haven't used it in a few months, just lemme know.
  2. Hey Grump, if you can't find one, why don't ya try mixing your own. Lonestar has a nice Cedar and you could mix it with a nice strong spiced pear.
  3. Nice job on those Grumpy...beautiful colors and swirls. Be sure and post after unmolding.
  4. My favs from OT are, Mardi Gras, Chai Tea, Baby Bee Buttermilk, Frosted Wineberry. They all do well in soap, they really stick. Not OT, but another one that does really well for me in soap is Sweet Violet and Sassafras from SW.....have gotten many people addicted to that soap.
  5. Here is a usefull thread - It all boils down to what you like and what works for you. We have all traveled down that same road and most of us have tried many different waxes, to find one that we are satisfied with. Best of luck. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8827&highlight=soy+wax+poll
  6. Would like to add one more thing about the HTP wicks, if you choose to double wick your jars. The HTP wicks bend in a certain direction and can make a difference in your burning, if not placed in the jar properly. The HTP wicks if you hold them upright by the base and look at both sides of the wick, you will see a patterned upward "V" on one side and a downward "V" on the other side. The wick is always going to bend toward the downward "V" when it burns. For the best performance double wicking with HTP wicks, place them equally spaced across the jar with the downward "V" facing outward, on both outmost sides of the jar. HTH.
  7. Beautiful purses Angelique.....you are sooooo talented!
  8. It is the diameter of the jar that matters, not the ounces as much. And I am talking about double wicking. Two 105's is overkill in a 3" jar with soy in it.
  9. You FOHO you! LMAO! What are ya waiting for?
  10. I have a shelf unit I put together that I cure my soaps on, and I use the plastic canvas (most hobby stores carry it) that Purple Lilac mentioned to put on top of the shelves to lay the soap on, and it works wonderful. Congrats on your first soap, it only gets more fun.
  11. In both of my 3.5" jars, I double wick with HTP73, 83, or 93, depending on the FO. If it is a little smaller, I would try double wicking with the HTP62 first and then adjust it from there. IMO The HTP105 double wicked for a 3" jar is gonna be way to hot.
  12. Looks nice, can't wait to see it cut. Lemme see if I can find that dancing baby.....well crud, you got to click on it now to make it dance. Congrats on your first batch.
  13. Those are beautiful Like Grumpy said, I would try some of the soap bands or Dan's bands from MMS.....they are shrink bands, but they are easy to use. I use the Dan's bands and love 'em.
  14. Very pretty Michi....now when are ya gonna do some CP?
  15. Beautiful soaps, diggin that purple one though! Great job!
  16. Very nice soaps, the banana one looks yummy! Only one I would wonder about would be the tomato, using all juice as your liquid. Also, did you do something to your bananas before adding, to keep them from turning color? Mine turned brown after a couple of days. Kinda made the soap cool looking though. I'd be curious about the tomato one, how it does. Please keep us posted on it's progress. Might be good soap to add to my list, if the tomato juice holds up.
  17. Try these for the bears.... http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2517&highlight=dipped+bear http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=439&highlight=dipped+bear
