  1. Hi, is there are particular way to make a wickless candle? I bought a jar one time and sat it on the burner and never could smell the fragrance. I assume you make it as you would a container candle without the wick? Thanks for the help.
  2. Hi, I have tried many scents and need a good realistic pumpkin scent and Buttercream scent for EcoSoya Advanced. Does anyone use this wax and these particular scents? Thanks - I saw the FO scent list but there really wasn't much for pumpkin and buttercream.
  3. I'm having trouble wicking a 4" apothecary jar. I've tried CD20-CD22. CD20 doubled did a good job with pool and depth and scent throw but still did not go to sides. I've tried paper 60-40-18 and above. I want a single wick in this and I'm using Ecosoya Advanced. Love this wax but not getting a good pool to the sides. Any suggestions would help. If I can't get a single to work, then I know I'll have to go to double wick. I just feel like it ruins the look of the jar so to speak. Thanks for the suggestions.
  4. Hi, I'm having trouble positioning my wick. I use EcoSoya Adv and when the wax starts to shrink or cool the wick seems to move off center. I had my hubby drill a hole in popsicle sticks for my wicks. Then I tried to position the wick between two sticks with small clothes pins on each end. Everything seems to move. What can I use to keep my wick centered in the middle of a pint, quart size jar? Thanks for the help. Johann
  5. Hi girls, just want to get a handle on what soy you all like. Please let me know what your using and how you like it before I get tons of samples here and go out of my mind - need to narrow this down a bit. Thanks Johann Didn't mean to leave out the guys - I'm new here - I know all about samples and just wanted some help in discerning what good soy samples to buy. I have bought samples in the past and My money is limited right now. Just needed some real help.
  6. Hi all, I'm thinking of switching soy wax - presently using Eco Soya Adv. Love the appearance but lately its really greasy. I'd like a wax that I don't have to wait forever to pour - has smooth creamy appearance - of course, cold and hot throw should be fantastic. Please help - many thanks for all of your opinions. Johann
  7. Hi girls, I am using EcoSoya Adv and I'm having problems with new batch of wax I bought. Saw your excitement about Golden 464 and wondered what problems you were having with EcoSoya Adv? Also what do you like about 464? Cheapest place to buy? And what are you procedures for a container candle? Melt point - FO- Pour temp? Thanks so much for the info - Johann

  9. Hi, periodically I buy candles from other candlemakers simply because they are so good. Recently, I have purchased a candle that had a great scent throw everytime but when I open the jar the top of the wax is all flaky and chipped up - looks like it came out of the box. It was solid till I touched it then it flaked to pieces. The candle burned fine though no problems. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT TYPE SOY WAX THIS IS??????????? Just wondering. Johann
  10. Hi all, I've been searching so long for a great pumpkin scent - not a pumpkin spice - a true pumpkin pie. Finally I exhausted all money and decided to experiment and low and behold - I had pumpkin spice here 1.0 oz and added .5 oz which equals 1.5 FO to a pound of wax and WOW - the apple pumped up the pumpkin - it was perfect. Try fooling around with adding a little apple and it will kick up the pumpkin scent. Hope this helps. Johann
  11. Hi, I love the EcoSoya Adv. I've been using for quite sometime. I heat to 180 then scent at 175 or 174. Then I pout at 150. No sink holes or wet spots. If you get a hole use your heat gun. I don't put my candles in a box just leave them out in room temp to harden overnight. Then I put the lid on and let them cure. I use only the best FO 1.5. Love this stuff - great appearance and scent throw hot and cold is out of sight. Wouldn't use anything else. I have never had to use additives. Johann
  12. Can anyone recommend a good company for Melt and Pour in Maryland, PA or Ohio? I live in MD. Looking for good quality Melt and Pour in Goats Milk, Honey Oatmeal, Shea in that type category. Thanks Johann
  13. Hi, I am really confused and could use some simple help. I've been struggling with measuring wax. I use pint mason jar empty weight 9.1 oz. with water weighs 1# 7.8 oz. Quart mason empty weighs 14.0oz w/water 2#12.4 oz. I use Ecosoya wax and would like to use 1.5 FO. Please advise how much wax to weigh out for pint and quart with 1.5 FO. I tried using calculator but still didn't work right for me. Please help - thanks. Johann
  14. Hi, I use Eco Soy Adv and love it. So creamy love the texture. I don't color mine love the white and my customers do also. I have been getting sink holes around the wick. Heat the jars, put in covered box and pour at 125. I use quality FO. I heard that 1/2 tea Stearic per pound cures that problem. Any ideas for the sink holes? I'm getting real tired of this. What are the best wicks for this to get a steady flame and large melt pool for pint and quart jars? I've been using CD. Thanks all - Johann
  15. Hi everyone, I'm doing Eco Soya Adv in a quart jar. Tried CD20 wick and the scent throw is excellent but the flame dances a little. Tried CD18 and the pool doesn't reach the sides. I got some Medium cotton and Large Cotton wicks from a company on ebay. They don't give the sizes - the large seems great but too short and doesn't come any longer. I'm not sure if this is a 62 + wick or what. Please help - I need a steady flame - tried LX just make a hole down the middle and not right. This jar is about 4" wide. Would love to find a CD20 in 7 inch length. Tried everywhere. Thanks. Johann
