  1. Crap!! I need a new mold like I need a new hole in my head, but if you say it's the bomb I've gotta have me one! As always I bow to the queen of soap and her mad swirling skills!
  2. Quite honestly I've never seen a good looking bar of HP until now. Good job!!!
  3. If you don't want to refer to the color purple just call it Prince! People will eventually understand............ Or not......:rolleyes2 P.S. I love the color Purple!!
  4. I think the soap looks great!!! Looks almost like some of the Chinese art I see around. I also see the upside down happy face that was mentioned. Would love to know how you achieved the look! Of course I'm thinking you should call it something from one of the Austin Powers movie characters. I'll be banned but it should be called "Fook Mi"!!!! :tiptoe:
  5. I think those look way cool!! :highfive:
  6. I've got a couple of them and the last one I bought I bought off Ebay. You have to be careful and make sure you aren't buying a reconditioned one. I paid less than $150 for a brand new one. Just have to be patient and keep checking. Again make sure you aren't buying a reconditioned one (read the fine print!) Good Luck, MB
  7. I have to agree with you on the wood molds. I love them. I have a couple of do rights and some others that I'm not so impressed with. I have a Tog which to be honest I haven't made my mind up about. :tiptoe: I've had several custom built which I love, love, love...... IMO wood is the way to go. I was thinking when I made my first GM recipe that I wished I had an HDPE that I liked really well (don't have one) but put it in one of my wood molds (a triple log) and put it outside (we're in the 40's and 50's) and it worked great!
  8. What I had to end up doing with my do rights is putting a clamp in the middle. I know a lot of people on here like them but personally I can't stand them. I started out with them but have phased them all out as they are a PITA in my opinion and I get better results with other molds. :tiptoe:
  9. Crisco is PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN AND COTTTONSEED OIL. MONO-AND DIGLYCERIDES.
  10. I apparently can't smell lavender. Don't know why I can't but I can't. If I smell a lavender vanilla fo all I smell is vanilla and if I smell just a straight lavender it's like there's nothing there. Must be my candle/soap nose or something.
  11. I'm thinking it was due to a rapid temperature change and change in humidity at the same time. As was predicted the fo was soaked back in to the soap but did leave a weird crystalline appearance on the surface of the soap which I just trimmed off with my planer/beveler. I had it happen again one other time with a different fo and supplier and big temp swings were what the conditions had in common. The soap ended up being fine but I do have this really weird rash..... J/K :laugh2::laugh2:
  12. To get "back on topic" a little bit I have to say that many prefer my vegie soap over my lard soap hands down. I was doing a blind test to see what was preferred and so far the numbers have come back for the vegie. This is opposite to what I've researched as far the "big" research companies results. They say that the lard soaps win hands down. Who knows what the real answer is but for now I offer both. As far as the other debate; I don't have a problem with using animal products as long as I feel comfortable that the animals haven't been tortured. As far as the comment "Our products are never tested on animals. We abuse humans instead." goes ( I do believe this is grumpy girls ) I think it's funny as hell because lets face it who hasn't met a human or two that need to be abused. I think the whole thing was meant tongue in cheek and if you can't see that or see past that than you need to get over yourself because you're taking "it" and yourself way to seriously and you need to get a life! 13. Thanks for posting this AJ! I'd been putting of trying the GM for a long time but I've been getting inundated with requests for it so I had to give in. Didn't want to deal with the overheating, scorching, dayglo orange or ammonia smell, etc. This method worked as advertised and I didn't have any problems at all. Helped that it's cold out and I put the mold outside which prevented any overheating problems. I was really surprised at how fast things started heating up once I added the GM. Thanks Again!
  14. I did a search but all I could find was for MP. I'm trying to figure out how much ground oatmeal to add PPO. I'm doing my first batch of GM OMH today as I've had so many requests for it. TIA
