  1. I think they turned out great, excellent job!
  2. I don't know of any single wick that you can use in a 4" soy candle. I double wick anything over 3". I love the look of the double wick, so I prefer to do it that way anytime I can. I think the only soy that you can successfully single wick in a 4" jar is a parasoy blend. HTH
  3. I found a thread on the old board talking about using cottons for 3” jars. I am in the process of changing from a 3 ½ Keepsake jar to a 3” dia. 8 oz. sq. mason jar and 16 oz. sq. mason jar. I have been unable to get a good consistent burn with either double HTP52 (too much) or a single HTP1212 (not big enough) wick, in either of the jars. I have many wicks at home that I can try, LX, CD and RRD, and have just ordered a cotton sampler pack from Peak. The CD’s are basically the same as the HTP, but has anyone had any luck with the RRD, LX or cotton wicks in these jars? Had no problems wicking the 3 ½” jars, but am having real issues with these 3” jars.
  4. I like those, very nice. I like the scrubby side idea too!
  5. WOW Sherie, that is great about your candle basket. Will keep Jay in my prayers. Sometimes miracles do happen, keep us posted.
  6. Yeah, how did they do? I woulda bid some good money on those babies.
  7. LOL! Oh, now I remember. I knew I had seen it somewhere, duh! I just got through running the KY Perfect Blend through the paces for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Not sure I am up to wax testing again at the moment. I have a large order to fill in September and don't want to be in the middle of wax testing. Maybe after that I will try some of the new Ecosoya CB Advanced. You never know when you'll stumble on something better than what you have.
  8. Don't have any advice for you since I don't make soap. But just wanted to say that they are beautiful!
  9. This is true. It looks like an upward "V" on one side and a downward "V" on the other side. The wick will burn towards the downward "V". I think it depends on where you buy the wicks from as to how much coating it has on it. The ones I get locally are easy to determine, but I have bought some elsewhere where the coating is so thick, the only way to know is to scrape a little off.
  10. Hey Moo, didn't know you made soy candles. Have never seen ya post in the veggie section before. Where do ya get the EZsoy? Edited to say: Love your cow, Moo!
  11. Those are beautiful, love the colors. I think you have to post one pic per post to get them to show up.
  12. Oooh, how pretty is that? I love the colors you used for it.
  13. Can't believe either that she handles it all. That is a lot for one person. Julie, you could just come down here and party with all of us! There is never a dull moment around here.
  14. lalalalalala, plugging my ears! Don't want to test new waxes again, LOL! Please let us know Marilyn how that wax works out as well. Always in the market to find that "perfect" wax.
  15. Conference has been postponed for those of you who were planning on attending. See the post by AnitaG in the General Candlemaking section.
  16. Thank you so much for the update. Certainly her health comes first. If she is not feeling well, it isn't going to be much fun for her anyway. That just means we will be double excited to go next year!
