  1. It just takes a few seconds for the glue to get firm under the wick, then you are good to go on pouring the wax in.
  2. I like the oblique short like that, it gives it a nice look.
  3. I use the same thing as realmarcha and would also like to add, the diamond cubes are a lot less stringy than the regular glue sticks.
  4. Those are very nice. I have a picture like that of my grandparents when they got married. Never thought of doing a hurricane with it, what a neat idea.
  5. Marilyn You could always check with Peak, they carry the Ecosoya.
  6. Dreamsickle Candy Corn Rose Petals Tulips (I do mine in pink, but they are beautiful in many colors) Sunflower
  7. Sell it as biker soap, it is Harley colors
  8. The fragrance load usually depends on what the manufacturer recommends. Each manufacturer pretty much knows what their wax will hold. As a general guideline I think a lot of people use an ounce to an ounce and a half per lb. Mine holds about 9% FO and does well. As for the FO’s you mentioned. I have never gotten a light or water type fragrance to throw well in soy. I have tried very hard to get a Juniper Breeze to throw well in my soy, but have not found one yet that does. So it may not be what vendor you are buying from, though that can have some bearing. It may just be those types of fragrances are lighter fragrances and just won’t throw well. I also have a cucumber cantaloupe that smelled up the entire house while I was pouring it, but it has very little hot throw to it. Welcome to the board!
  9. One thing I did notice about the Astorlite Q palm wax is that it had kind of a crayon wax smell to it that you could smell along with the FO when it burned. Not sure you get the same smell with the Candlewic Palm waxes.
  10. For after burning smooth tops, add 3-4% beeswax to your soy while you are melting it. You will kinda have to play with it to get a feel for what looks good to you. It also helps with the frosting some and the throw.
  11. Very pretty, love the little sunflowers!
  12. Very cute! Like those neon colors. Do they glow well at night?
  13. The general rule of thumb, is 1 inch per hour and after it reaches the edge, 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep MP. Of course that is a little flexible, it doesn't have to be exact. For instance, in my 3 1/2 double wicked jars, if I get a good MP in 3-4 hours, I consider that a good burn. Usually a little bit of hangup on the side, will catch up on later burns. If it is just a tiny bit, I wouldn't risk wicking it higher just to catch such a small amount, it would probably overheat your jar.
  14. Those are beauties, love the layers!
  15. That is just beautiful, very artistic! I could never do that in a million years.
  16. Love those, love the swirly design on the tops.
  17. Love those. They remind me of the sweet tart suckers you could buy when you were younger that had the one color on top and one on the bottom.
