  1. I just got some Rose Hip Oil to try, along with some Lavender and Rosemary EO. I've read that Rose Hip Oil is good for regenerating mature skin, scars, etc. Anyone have a recipe using this oil? I'm going to play around with my lotion recipe and see what I can come up with. Would really like something for the face.
  2. I've never had anyone ask what type of wick I use. I have had people ask me if I use soy or paraffin.
  3. Green Tea is a great scent. My customers that like clean scents, love this. Coconut milk. I was suprised how nice it is. Not sweet at all. The few I made to test for sales went quickly and I've had orders for more (this is in the last 2 weeks). Unfortunately, can't help you with soy..I use J50.
  4. Was it your first time ordering with them? I think they send out those samples only on your first order. Peak, however, sends a free 1 oz sample with every internet order.
  5. Yup, free sample with every internet order. I'll tell ya, it's enough to make a fo ho broke.
  6. All I can say is WOW Congrats to you! I was thinking the same think Robin...That's what I sell all year! Great job. I wouldn't even have the room in my home to store that much stuff.
  7. My 16oz Apothecary Jars are my most popular (Yankee is big around here, so people want something that looks comparable to fit their accessories they already have). I sell them for a little over 3 times my cost and people ask me how I can be so cheap. It's all about the perception. I'm a few dollars cheaper than Yankee and it works.
  8. This year's sales were up about 15% from last year. I'm cool with that. Made lots of new contacts this year which may lead to some opportunities for next year.
  9. Hmmm...this is an interesting question. While I do love to make jar candles, the busy season (now) gets a little mundane. I really enjoy making pillars because it allows me to really be creative and try different techniques I've seen here on CT. I'm loving playing with B&B, but hard to play right now.
  10. oooh...can't wait to try those. I've been playing with FBB and I love the brown sugar scrub made with it. Now I have something new to try.
  11. No one has ever asked me about the wick. I did have one woman ask me recently if I use paraffin. Get this...she wanted to make sure because she doesn't like soy.
  12. See, I thought the soap rose petal were for single hand washes, not for floating in the tub. Sorry, can't help ya. I don't make them.
  13. Wow Robin, I am thrilled for you!! :highfive: I know your stuff is awesome. I am not suprised you did so well.
  14. Candle Parties. I already have my first two booked for the coming year.
  15. Hmmm....alot of ideas flowing, just need to organize them in my brain and put it to paper. Organize and clean my work area...aka the basement. Take an accurate inventory (goes hand in hand with organizing) Develop a better inventory system Test the handful of fragrances that I have yet to test and pare down the fo list. Book a few more craft shows. I only did 1 this year. Work on better packaging/labeling. Try out a few marketing ideas I have. Work on consignment and wholesale contract wording. Work on getting consignment and wholesale (I have one consignment gig in the works). There's lots more, but I'll stop here.
  16. WOW!! Now that is impressive. Great job!!:highfive:
  17. That is terrific. Word of mouth is the best advertising.
  18. I'm having problems with my bath salts. First, my color won't stay. Now, my FO is settling to the bottom of the tube. What's going on? Is this the norm? What the heck am I doing wrong? OK, here is the recipe I used. 4 oz. Dead sea salt, course 2 oz. Dead sea salt, fine 2 oz. Citric acid 8 oz. Epsom salt .25 oz. FO Coloring
  19. I would assume that oil is in a liquid form and butter is in a solid form. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. I'm not even allowed near the kitchen with wax. Sorry to hear about your incident. That is a mess.
  21. WooHoo!!! Great open house. As usual, your products look wonderful, as do you.
  22. sorry, I've only tried Peak's Spiced Cranberry. It's in a tie for first place so far in my holiday sales (Spruce Christmas Tree always comes out on top this time of year).
  23. I usually sell more of these this time of year. I do 4 and 6 oz tins. I put them together with a bow around them and sell them for $10. People that buy them usually buy in multiples for gifts...coworkers, teachers, stocking stuffers. Other times of the year I don't sell as many, but they still sell.
