  1. Yes, FOH is off my list for good. The way she sh*t on her good customers during the busiest time of the year is ridiculous! Wouldn't take phone calls, wouldn't answer emails for over a week, then when she did she AGREED to sell a scent straight from her supplier to a customer who was in a tight spot over this oil with a fundraiser still going on and other orders to fill but when it came time to sell the oil to the customer, she was never heard from again! How these suppliers think they can just purposely go OOS on oils right at the busiest time of the year for candlemakers and decide they aren't restocking anything til sometime in the NEXT YEAR, is just insane! Good luck keeping those customers! She is obviously having financial difficulties, but I'm sorry when you have a business that supplies other businesses with something as important as a main ingredient you can't do this type of sh*t and expect these customers to wait around for you when you do decide to restock. She will never ever get another dime of mine. So I am also on the search for replacements to her oils as is alot of other people...I have not smelled another hibiscus.
  2. I thought they sold the rights to their wax. If so you could use the GB waxes again, but you wouldn't be able to call it "Bluegrass soy" or whatever they called their wax. Those are some very good points you bring up MM, laying it all out there like that could really take some time to really start being profitable again. I would probably try negotiating a deal with them to just buy the formulas for the oils and thats it...then go on with my own business and work with the oil manufacturers etc...unless of course that amount of money isn't really that much to you, then go for it, just dive right in, go meet with Tanya and Randy and negotiate the best deal! Good luck!
  3. If I had the money I'd buy them in a heartbeat!
  4. Can you ask the designer to fix the n's and the middle i, they aren't lined up correctly and looks a bit unprofessional if left that way. Its a flaw that is very easily corrected...I'm just surprised the designer gave it to you like that. Otherwise, the overall look is nice and it seems to fit the oriental theme you are after.
  5. I've been testing out a sample of the Aspen Winter in pure soy wax and its very weak on the hot throw. I used 1.2 oz per pound and you can barely smell it in a tiny little bathroom. Its burning great, perfect melt pool, cured for over 3 weeks too, just nothing for a throw. I just can't imagine having to use more than the 1.2 so I'm wondering what amount others are using in this scent, anyone else use it in soy?
  6. Great!! Thanks so much for the help and the tip on those other calculators! That's good to know!
  7. Ok, I am making a one pound batch of soap and I was to add 3.2 oz of olive oil and I actually added 3.3 oz, also I was supposed to add 2.4 oz rice bran oil and added 2.6 oz, will this be a big deal? Is my lye going to way off now? I can't check it in a calculator since the numbers won't add up to 100% now...is it salvageable or did I ruin this batch??? Its just for my use anyway...what do you think?? Thanks for any help you can give!
  8. The first word that came to mind when I read your op was Innocence. Here's what I tought of... Innocence Daddy's Little Girl Little Sister Pink Plaid Scent of a Girl (you know, a take on Scent of a Woman)
  9. Yep, I'd have left it wide open to ruin the look on their side just to spite em!
  10. Wet Skin Siren Vamp Jezebel Chastity Hot Flesh Libido Lust
  11. You have to try the Celtic Moonspice! It is a wonderful scent! It now comes in a body safe formula also!
  12. I need some Rocky Mtn Pine from FOH but they are oos until november. Anyone know of another supplier who carries this same scent? Thanks for any input!
  13. Oh for cripes sakes Mary, we are talking about some candle supplies not dildoe's and edible underwear! Yes there is discretion out there no one is arguing that really. Its candle supplies.
  14. If that bothers you, do you ever put your groceries on the belt in the check out line? Do you have any idea how germ infested that belt is and then you put your groceries on it and then pick them all up when you put them away? Think of how much raw chicken juice has spilled on those belts...I've seen it many times! How many times have you seen some type of liquid spilled on them? Its not just the deli departments that have nasty things in them. If you really stop and think about it just walking into a grocery store is bad for your health! LOL As for boxes that are used to ship products in, it amazes me how some of you sit here and bitch about some box that a supplier used but then preach about recycling at other times and the amount of waste in this world etc...so which is it?? Reduce, reuse, recycle or use new, its your business??? Can't have it both ways!
  15. Can someone describe what this smells like. Its sounds interesting. Thanks!
  16. Great reviews thanks for posting them! I have not been able to get a decent throw out of the Red Hot Cinnamon in the 415 soy, did you have to cure it for a long time? I use the cd wicks too!
  17. I would start with a cd 12 then go from there. Not all fragrance oils will use a cd 12 either, some may need a bigger wick or a smaller wick but the 12 is a good starting point.
  18. IMO the only way people are going to now if there is any relation between what problems others are having and what you are having will be for everyone who has any type of problem to list what wax wicks and fo and jar. That is the only way to see if there is any connections with others. I am not saying it would automatically make it a suppliers fault either, they (the supplier) could be getting something different from their wholesaler and not even know it, kwim? This is the worst time of year for these suspicious troubles to be happening and could possibly destroy some people. I hope who ever has any type of these problems start listing stuff all in one thread for everyones sake. Good luck Holly I hope you get it figured out!
  19. It smells just like the BCN Pomegranate! Exactly!
  20. Can you plant mint plants all around your house? Be aware tho, they spread like a you know what! That might help too!
  21. I would love to hear reviews on the CRACKLIN BIRCH scent if anyone has tried it. They sure do have alot of new wonderful sounding scents!
  22. And here's the typical 'other newbie' coming in to chastise the veterans for their comments. Oh so much to learn. Your response here has been heard a million times! Everyone that posted to the original poster did exactly what they should have in this case. That is point out how dangerous this person is being and how you don't just 'open a business' over night. Like has been posted already, they didn't even know what wax they were using and has already sold these candles. That's insane! Someday when you have been around the candle world long enough you will realize a newbie like this has the potential to destroy all of our candle businesses with shoddy homemade candles. Every bad candle, every candle that burns something down, every candle that smells like crap and looks like crap and is put on a table to be sold to the public gives ALL OF US a bad name! We work to dang hard and put in way to much money to have some fly-by-nighter destroy that for us. We have alot at stake here, maybe its just a hobby you have found you love, but its a business to alot of others. So before you start chastising the veterans of this board for being 'rude' or nasty or whatever, stop and think of whats at stake here!
  23. The best pink sugar I've had is from Brambleberry. No fake smell, no chemical smells, it smells just like the real stuff. Works awesome in gb415 too! I've tried alot of suppliers for Pink Sugar and this was my favorite.
  24. Vanilla Bomb is just that---the Bomb! Very strong and smells wonderful. The C&BS is super strong and really smells great. I haven't tried the Sugared Spruce or the Cinnamon Clove Nutmeg.
