  1. I'm surprised they are selling them for that much even. It only costs me about .71 cents per clamshell to make them, and I don't have the bulk buying power that the big boys have. So it looks like the mfg. is taking advantage of the average going price and actually making a little money off Wal-Mart for a change.
  2. Do let us know what you find out about CSN wicks. I don't get my palm from them, but I do get my CSN's there. I'd be pissed if I had to start retesting everything.
  3. Eric--- Could I convince you to sell me an ounce? I'd hate to buy a whole bottle and find it not the right scent.
  4. Its for my sister. She lives across the country from me, and drives 2 hours to get to some candle place because they have a candle in this fragrance. I told her I'd scour to find a duplicate and send her a few for Christmas.
  5. I am looking for an FO in Butter Rum. The request is for a Butter Rum that smells like a Butter Rum Lifesaver Candy. I need something that will work well in soy/palm. Thanks!
  6. I just started experimenting with a new palm and wow--- I was test burning for wicking size today-- the candles haven't even cured and you can smell it throughout the downstairs of the house.
  7. I'm testing out palm container wax and had a small snafu this week. Had two jars-- same FO but different wicks, testing for burn. The sheet that I had labeled which was which got moved on me, so I went by sight-- assuming the wider looking wick was the bigger one. Now-- here comes the dumb question... During my test burns, the one that I assumed to be "smaller" has a much larger flame-- can a smaller wick produce a larger flame or did I guess wrong on which wick? I'm currently testing CSN 11 vs. CSN 12 in the ROBNAT container palm.
  8. Heh-- post a sign about FO load in wax and the dangers of oil seepage While excess oil may not catch on fire in a warmer, it will definitely wreck the warmer. But I doubt she's really using that much-- she's too cheap for that.
  9. You can make a bath melt without the citric acid-- but it won't disperse as thoroughly or as quickly.
  10. Yup. I think she's looking for the volume calc. for palm.
  11. Her question is about the yield. Generally speaking, when you measure and weight out 1 pound of unmelted paraffin, you end up with about 20 ounces (1lb. 4oz) of liquid.
  12. The flamethrower that I mentioned in another thread was a 12oz Interlude jar with a wooden wick. It was Palm, but I know it was enough to convince me that wood wicks were NOT for me.
  13. I get my jars from The Jar Store. The majority of their jars come with the flat glass lid, included in the price. When I order in bulk, I can get my jar with lid for .94. Even if I don't order in bulk, I can get my particular jar for 1.24. Depending on where you live, shipping could be bad. I live ner enough to DFW where I just drive in for my supplies from various suppliers once or twice a quarter.
  14. To be fair-- I have an actual brick and mortar shop so its not as "cluttered" as it would be at a show. I am an esthetician and I am also a piercer, so I have more of an urban edge to my products. When I do shows and fairs, I typically only take either my candles or my soaps and scrubs, depending on who else is at the shows. I never take my makeup or facial products-- its just too much.
  15. 444 vs. 464 If these were the only two available, which would you choose and why?
