  1. I have this one and its a strong fresh orange scent...but no scent of chili pepper...love the orange scent tho! I still haven't been able to burn it without detecting a fuel smell to it in 100% soywax. Great scent otherwise.
  2. Speaking of UV inhibitor..check out this test its from BCN for the Color Stabilizer! The colors are still vibrant after sitting in a window for 2 years! http://boards.bittercreek.com/tool/post/bittercreek/vpost?id=1903890
  3. So you can post since you have something 'favorable to say' about this supplier, but since what I have to say is pointing out the truth which doesn't make this supplier look that good I should not post about it, and if I do, I must have a 'bone to pick with DS'......Well, sorry, but I don't have a bone to pick with DS, just pointing out what others are trying to cover up since they are DS buddies! By the way, didn't you see the 'Queen' has spoken here...she said enough is enough already! LMAO! :laugh2:
  4. Well since she posted the problem in a THREAD about this very thing, I believe she had every right to post about it whether she had contacted DS yet or not. Also you say Stacy would have fixed this problem had she been contacted first...ummm..ok, Stacy is the one who DISCONTINUED the sniffies withou giving notice..Stacy is the one who took this order in and charged the customer for the sniffies KNOWING she took the sniffies off her site...so how would Stacy NOT know about this order..she took it, she filled it, she charged the customer and she shipped it...she has no one to blame or be pissy with but herself!
  5. Congratulations! Glad I could help!
  6. Hey 8 people is great! A former co-worker of mine hosted a PL candle party...invited a bunch of her friends, had made desserts, snacks and punch, then sat there and waited and waited and waited...not one person showed up!!!!!! YIKES..that would suck! You did great!
  7. Do YOU believe in the product? (Its obvious you do) Do YOU believe it will sell? Will the average income people be able to afford it for their babies? I used CRISCO for diaper rash...least expensive and worked better than anything else I ever tried...no need for anything else! But that is my opinion. Can you market it to higher end baby boutiques instead of trying mainstream? Might find more money in that area. If its something you feel passionate about, then go for it!
  8. I say go for it!!! What have you got to lose? Nothing really! It sounds like this is what you are already doing basically....as for holiday scents you could go for some spicy pineapple scents, fruit and spice scents etc...do some research on the net about places like the 'islands' and what some of the holiday traditions are in those areas and try to play off that for scents...as for a catchy name..oh brother, that is endless... Tropical Temptations Island Essence Essence of the Islands Tropical Essence Sun Sand Wix & Wax (lol) Beaches Tropics and on and on and on...LOL! Just some ideas off the top of my head! HTH
  9. :laugh2: Wow, LMAO!!! Sounds and awful lot like BG in kentucky....way to many other suppliers out there that WANT your business and go above and beyond for their customers...wouldn't waste time with this one CB!
  10. TinaJ...so you were charged for the sniffies but you didn't receive them and you didn't get a refund for them? A little courtesy to customers would be nice...like a reason why! If you don't get a refund, I hope you are going to call and b*tch..that's just down right wrong!
  11. The worst one for me is WYW vanilla grapefruit! YUCK! It has some nasty chemical smell to it. Can't stomach it at all but I have customers asking for it so I am going to have to put a close pin on my nose.:rolleyes2
  12. KY has an oil called 'sweet and creamy' and it says it smells like sweetened condensed milk.....hth!
  13. Just because a fo is light or heavy doesn't mean beans when it comes to testing the wicks...I've had very light oils, like water, that are very hard to wick and I've had very thick oils that used my standard wick...so whether an oil is thick or thin doesn't mean squat to me!
  14. Caramel Dip from FOH is awesome in soy! Nice combo of caramel and apple! For Candy corn I've only tried BCN, its good and I like the scent I just wish it was stronger...but then again, I think its always going to be a scent that isn't real strong..its candy corn! LOL... Also note: its been posted that the Candy Corn oil from BCN smells the same as Candle Cocoons candy corn....fyi!
  15. Hey that does sound wonderful! Yum! Make sure you let us know what you think when you burn it!
  16. Really? I love all of those scents so I think it sounds awesome! I am not crazy about hearing it smells like sugar tho....someday I am just going to have to try it..but who's is less 'sweet' smelling, that will be the key for me!
  17. I like single word names for a more upscale sound... Rivers (you can always add Bath & Body to it) Shays Waters The Oaks Sleeping Waters Soaps (looked up the history of snohomish county and it said some indians said snohomish means sleeping waters) That's just a few ideas going off the area you are in....hth! Edited to add: I just realized your last name is Barr...how about The Soap Barr or Barr of Soap!
  18. Candlebuddy, How is the hot throw on the Warm Orange Gingerbread from TN? I have heard mixed reviews on it in soy..some say strong, others say its weaker in soy....and when you try the Spiced Cranberry from FOH let us know how it compares to the SC from BCN..that's the one I use and wouldn't mind finding a better one! Thanks Edited to add...as for the Pumpkin pie, I hear ya when you say 'still searching'...seems to be the hardest scent to find a strong one in soy..post your results when you try BW's oil!
  19. Saule De Prairie = Prairie Willow in French...what is the main ethnic backgrounds around your area? French, German, Swedish, Norwegian etc...I actually like just the word Willows for the line.
  20. I think they have come along way with their scents in the last couple of years. I use the soy also and the majority of my scents come from them...there are hit and miss oils like any other place... Wildberry Zinger Tea Honey Coco Mango Spiced Cranberry Mango Macadamia Nut Cool Water Lavender Northwoods Xmas Pomegranate Bamboo Violets & Birch (CO) Creme Brulee These are some that I either use or have tried and they work awesome...The WYW oils are pretty good, but do get expensive. I think you will find plenty of favorites if you try some of their oils!
  21. So far the only vanilla I like is MC's French Vanilla....its creamy and good without those other scents you listed...Its not a super strong thrower in pure soy, I wish it were stronger, but I can smell it...but then again, its vanilla, how strong is a true vanilla anyway LOL!! Some say there is a hint of almond in it, but I don't think its very prominent.
  22. I have to add one more thing about FOH's comments...Two people here posted that it threw weak, and Kim responded immediately and has put in inquiries to the manufacturer etc... to find out why some people aren't getting a throw out of it. She DID NOT respond with the typical supplier response of "we get a great throw from it, there is nothing wrong with the oil" blah blah blah...that is the answer I get all to often when not getting a throw from an oil that is suppose to throw strong..I understand suppliers cannot react over every single 'no throw for me' response to an oil, but sometimes it is nice to see a supplier take charge and look into it other than the total brush off of 'its you, not our oils' response. Thanks FOH!:highfive:
