  1. You'r site looks great! I like the black and white together with the color coming from your pictures. The only thing I was wondering is why do you have a link to Candletech on your site? You want your customers buying from you NOT learning how to make their own and then you are out of business..that was my only concern! Have a great day!
  2. If you want expert advice, here's some, WALK AWAY FROM THE WAX MELTER, AND AWAY FROM CANDLEMAKING PERMANENTLY! In my opinion if you even think of pouring and selling without testing, you do not belong in the candlemaking world! The best thing to do now is call this woman and tell her the truth. I'm sorry but what is wrong with some of you people? Harsh yes, but how else do you get through to these peoples?? My god! *faint*
  3. Ok, if you want an awesome Lemon pound cake, get the one from BCS....that one is to die for! Now I have never used your wax but after reading this thread again I am wondering what type of burner/melter are you using these tarts in? It could be it isn't getting hot enough to get the true scent out...also, in some fragrances using more oil isn't always better...if you use to much oil you can lose the scent and not get that strong scent you are after...but I would definitely try different oils from somewhere else and if you still aren't happy, ditch the wax and try a different one. You really should NEVER need to use more than 1-1.5 oz pp..even for tarts! I can stick a jelly jar candle that has only an inch of wax (if that) left in it on to my warmer and it will smell up my whole first floor...I only use 1-1.2 oz pp in my soy candles and use 100% soywax and all my fragrances come from highly rated suppliers that are mentioned quite often on these boards...good luck!
  4. Holy crapola!!!!!!! Why even bother with any wax at all if you use that much fo..just burn the oil!!!!! *faint* Sheesh! I know you said you are experimenting, but what a waste, and also possible fire hazard! Try a different oil, and have someone else test a tart for you to see what someone else thinks..maybe its just your nose!
  5. How can using these high amounts of fo per pound of wax be cost effective? Aren't people losing there butts on these tarts if you use up this much fo at a shot?
  6. There are a ton of scents out there that aren't foody or flowery. Try a clean linen, fresh laundry type, or a woodsy scent, or an herbal, or spicy scent etc...there are tons, just check out some of the larger suppliers who have their scent lists in categories!
  7. I am testing this one also, and at first I was getting a fuel smell. But after a couple of weeks I started burning it again and am getting the most awesome orange scent...not really detecting much on the pepper but the orange scent is wonderful. No fuel either. But I am going to pour again and try using less oil to see if that will get rid of the fuel in the beginning. I'd say try it and see what you think!
  8. For a Chai tea scent you have to try Candle Cocoon. They have a new one out and its super strong and smells exactly like Chai tea!
  9. Wow, I'm surprised they didn't catch that and call you to see if it was the sampler you wanted. I know they have done things like that in the past where they called to clarify something. Hmm...no, I wouldn't be happy either! Yes, it was customer error, but, like others have said, their site is a nightmare to navigate! Live and learn I guess, just makes one very leary of ordering again!
  10. OMG woman! You are obviously just trying to stir the pot around here aren't you! You know full well everyone here gave you their opinions on good customer service when you sh*t on one of your customers and then came here to brag about it! Hey, if you really want to know what good customer service is, we will give you 10% of an answer on your next question! How does that sound? :rolleyes2 santa eek
  11. Wow, some people are sooooo misinformed! :embarasse :rolleyes2
  12. Um, well, you may just find someone who is looking for a candle that looks just like that!:undecided Hmm...anyway I was looking at your website and you may want to correct some spelling errors and it would be nice if you added an 'about me' page or at least show and address and phone number on the site. I know myself I would never order from someone who can't put on their site where they are located and also a phone number. Just a thought and my 2 cents!
  13. WOW...that's a pretty bold statement to make on a public forum with out any proof what so ever! I don't think you would want a broad statement like that made about your business as a headline in your local newspaper!
  14. I have tried two Pink Sugars and they were Brambleberry's and BCN's....I love Brambleberry's ...BCN's seems to die down in to more of a musk scent, it seems to lose some of the sweetness. Of course some may like that part of it better, I preferred the sweeter!
  15. Yep after reading through this, and following the saga over at tsr with the admin that is associated with that company, and the way he treats board members etc..just keeps me farther away from ever buying from them! Nope, no way, there are so many more decent, RESPECTFUL, trustworthy suppliers out there to bring my business too! This company OBVIOUSLY does NOT care about its customers to treat people the way they do! The first thing they need to do is take control of that admin they have running the board over there! That man I believe has single handedly run off more customers than they can even imagine!
  16. Wow, they actually state their candles are the most "pure & natural" candles you can buy...ummm..someone is truly misinformed here, and is doing some major false advertising...they say they use fragrance oils right there on the page, but think they have "pure & natural" candles...sorry, not when you are using fragrance oils and dye...ain't nothing "pure & natural" about them except the soy wax...and that is no longer 'pure & natural' anymore either..it has the fo and dye in it!!! santa eek
  17. Well, considering the person who posted asking what a tart is, used an explitive(sp) in her question, therefore one would tend to believe the person has a sense of humor, and/or realizes how 'dumb' it must be for someone who is making things with wax to not know what one is.
  18. I can't imagine not being able to smell this scent...its a strong one, even in ezsoy..I use this and have never had a problem with it! Do you have some kind of air exchanger in your house exchanging the air out all the time, umm, do you have a very drafty house, and the scent is leaving the building? (lol) Do you have really high ceilings? IDK! I would give one to a friend/family member to burn at their house and see what they say..alot of times we don't want to believe it but it ends up just being our noses!
  19. Since this one has no idea what a tart is, you may want to clarify and say you MELT them in a tart warmer....someone just might try to 'burn' one! ROFLMAO!!!!santa wink
  20. Seriously???? ok, umm, a box will work! Any kind of box!:spit:
  21. I use an oil burner from B&BW. I put water in the bowl and a few drops of oil to that..works great, and is really strong...add the water and you shouldn't have any smoking issues!
  22. Check out Northstar in Minnesota www.northstar3c.com I've never tried them before but some others here have. Not much on a search tho. They are now carrying the Golden Brands soywax.
  23. Northstar Candle Supply in Minnesota is now carrying it also www.northstar3c.com they recently started carrying the Golden Brands soy waxes.
  24. Well for one, we don't need OLD NAVY to keep our businesses running! We need WAX to keep our businesses running! So if O N were to have a sale and run out, yes we would think that's just business..that's the way OLD NAVY's business is suppose to be, they are catering to the public NOT other businesses! When you are a supplier it is imperative that you don't run out of stock, again, other businesses are relying on YOUR supplies to keep them running. I'm not jumping on BCN about this either...it just happened to come up with them, I'm speaking on a general basis here. There is a something to be said for 'planning ahead' in this business, but when our stock is depleted faster than we expect, we expect to be able to go right to our SUPPLIER and get more. Just as BCN can go right to their supplier and get more wax. I am sure it would hurt BCN if they couldn't get what they needed from their supplier too...then they lose customers to other suppliers..just as we lose customers when we are out of wax and can't re-stock! So I disagree with you on 'same goes for wax'....apples and oranges there!
