  1. Also keep in mind people who do not properly burn candles: never trimming the wick, power burning. I'm guilty of both personally and quite honestly I do not know a single person that actually trims the wick between burns. Placing the candle in a sink or bathtub is a good idea for testing power burns--just in case .
  2. Does anyone know where to find this? Candlewic used to carry it--but its not on their website any more. It is one of my sisters favorite scents. TIA
  3. I know of quite a few colleges that do not allow the warmers in the rooms either. One of my customers used lovespell products so if someone commented on her candle she said oh no its just my body spray or something like that.
  4. Does anyone know approx how many 1# bars of beeswax fit into a small or large flat rate box? I thought that perhaps a soaper would know the answer--although not specifically wax it may give me an idea. I did see mentioned that the bars are similar to mini-loaf pan size. The guy I'm speaking with didn't have a box to find out for me. Thanks!
  5. Assuming that what you have is cappings(the wax used to cover the comb area where the honey is stored), you will definately be able to get it clean. But if you received brood wax(the wax area where the larvea are brought to term)--its naturally dark in color and will not clean to a nice light color.
  6. Where can I buy these types of boxes? I realize that they would ship flat then I would fold them into shape. Here is link from someone else's website--I do not plan to use these for the same purpose. ETA: for a good price with no min. http://www.wholesalebathconfetti.com/pillow_box_2.html Thanks!
  7. It may have two numbers but I've always ordered it as IGI 4627. And the crumble idea is a great one!
  8. Thank you! It's just the kind of thing I was looking for.
  9. I know this type of question has been posted. Q: Is there any merchant processor out there that does not charge a monthly fee for months that you do not use the service? Thanks for helping me out. I haven't located one yet. I wouldn't mind using a card imprinter--actually I'd prefer it since it would cost less.
  10. I currently use zen-cart for my website. However, I'm not satisfied because I have absolutely no idea as to how to upgrade and the answers I receive are just as complicated. I requested quotes from people to upgrade for me but they are out of my price range. Please suggest a cart that I can upgrade myself. I was able to customize zen-cart myself just no install the update--too complicated. Thanks!
  11. I don't know about your town. Where I live they just don't want unusual traffic in the residential areas. For example, you can't run an auto repair store from you garage; or you can't have a store in you patio room for flowers, or whatever. Maybe they didn't realize that you only plan to make your product at home but sell online or at craft shows...
  12. I can't tell you the temp but I can tell you that most do not reccomend straight beeswax in containers due to having to wick up so high and the risk of the container breaking. The few beeswax containers I have seen are in tin. HTH
  13. IGI 4627 is comfort blend. If you can get past the very sticky thick vasaline feel before blending then you are good to go. For me its no big deal but many people out there do not like the wax at all. And yes, it can be extremly messy!!!!
  14. To me now anyway a soft soy blend wax sounds like almost anything. I use soy and comfort blend at my own percentages and it is a soft creamy shortening like consistency soy blend. I'm sure these wonderful people's suggestions can lead you in the right way, but I asked the same question too once and learned there are just too many possibilities out there. Good luck on your search though
  15. Didn't Indie change their policy to say that you must make soap/beauty products to get their insurance? That making only candle products was not enough? Please correct me if I'm wrong but I know I looked at it once and would have qualified but looked again and wouldn't.

    Room Spray

Thanks Vicky! I agree completely about not saying to spray it on the light bulb. It's scary. But then again, the same sister had a scentsy/jewelry home party that I attended. It was the scentsy rep's first one and I and my other sister just sat there thinking OMG and not saying a word. She sad that if a dog got the wax on them it wasn't hot enough to burn just hot enough to make the dog not do it again--which may be true but she also said the wax temp was 96° which blew my mind so the next day I searched the web and some of their reps claim temps as high as 125°--that's a 30° difference! I must say though that I like their scent camu camu and will be ordering the only one I can find from CandleWic hoping that it's similar enough.

    Room Spray

...not linen spray, not body spray. Go figure one of my half-sisters discovered scentsy and now wants me to make their products (breakaway melts which I had intended to start making anyway and room sprays). Okay, not on to my question. How do I make room spray? I have been searching on here and it appears their are bases? out there but I am seriously confused. Also, I've noticed that some bases contain alcohol or maybe all do. Scentsy's biggest selling point on those darn sprays is that you can spray them on a light bulb and the heat will of course intensify and dissapate the scent. TIA for you help. I'm lost and she'd kinda like to have something for Christmas presents.
  18. The most recent scam e-mail I recieved was typed entirely in caps except of course the signature lines which are pre-added to all their e-mails.

    Basic Warmer

Now that is not something I had thought about. I'll have to try it. I love saving money.

    Basic Warmer

You can get the absolute basic ones at Hobby Lobby for $3.99 each. They are the candle warmer brand (at least at my local store). You can buy directly from candle warmer for less but you need to take shipping into consideration.

    warmers

Has anyone ever found a source for cordless (battery-operated) candle warmers. Or maybe even tart warmers...I always have the customer who doesn't like cords. I've tried different searches and the best I can come up with is the usb plug coffee warmer which sounds so dangerous!! TIA
  22. Maybe a name change is in order for this one so that people will smell it. I received a sample and think that its a sweet cranberry with an undertone of tea. Anyway, anyone have opinions on the others.
  23. Hey thanks for the reply. I did speak with them, but I'm still unsure. They told me the bowl is 4" in diameter at the bottom which leaves me unsure becasue--the 16 ounce tins also say 4" and won't fit, but the 11 oz barrel jar which again says 4" will. You can see me difficulty. Thanks for your suggestion though.
  24. Does anyone know if these will fit the standard warmers? By standard I mean the candle warmer brand at hobby lobby--the very basic one. TIA
  25. on their sugar cookie, snickerdoodle, hot cranberry tea, and cranberry peppermint. Please let me know if you have used these and how well they have sold for you. I'll be using them in wickless so wicking is not an issue this year, next year it might be
