  1. I had a major run in with a Scentsy rep at a craft show once. She told me I needed to tell my customer's that Scentsy does not recommend using any other wax in their warmers if they asked if my melts worked in Scentsy warmers. It turned out a little funny. She made such a jerk of herself that the promoter of the show bought from me
  2. Thanks I always get great advice here!
  3. This is an open craft show with other vendors.
  4. Love this rack card idea. I had never heard of events on craigslist or kijiji. Thanks. I'd love any more ideas people have.
  5. Anyone have any advice on hosting your own craft show? Best places to advertise or anything at all? Thanks for your help as always! Jennifer
  6. Can anyone tell me if the levine nightlight warmers and obi nightlight warmers use the same replacement bulb? TIA Jennfier
  7. Cant reply specifically to your post, but I don't always have a sale that would cover the $12.95 per month (for example maybe I only run one card the entire month and it's only $9 or $12, then I'll lose money). I won't know at the beginning of the month if I'll run any more to cover that cost by the end of the month but wouldn't want to turn down the sale simply because I didn't know. I was looking at getting an iphone anyway to replace my blackberry storm so the square app pushed me over the edge.
  8. voodoo love from BCN smells exactly like my double delight roses
  9. I haven't tried the silicone molds, but I'm looking forward to hearing your results!
  10. Thanks all. I will give it a try, it certainly can't hurt and I'll post the results here. Does anyone know if the air fresheners need a stretch of time to cure? I've noticed that air fresheners only a few days old are very flexible when bent but that the older ones are not this way....I started testing these the day after I made them, so maybe that also has something to do with it.
  11. Here's a picture to illustrate what I mean about the horns.
  12. For those in Texas and other places that make the aroma ornies in the longhorn shape, how do you prevent the horns from softening in the heat and bending down? I was thinking maybe widening the base of the horns by bending my cookie cutter...does anyone know if this helps? Thanks for sending me down the right path.
  13. The cauliflower top is simply a characteristic of soy that occasionally shows up. Since I don't use pure soy but mix it with paraffin, I can't tell you the exact reasons as to why. But I'm certain that someone else will chime in and shed some more light on the subject for you.
  14. I completely agree with the idea that its just going to melt anyway. But I'm sure that people who buy the fancier ones are probably displaying them in a basket or some other way before they use them.
  15. I was just looking at packs on the floor. I hadn't considered that they might have a swatch book. I'll definitely check next time I'm there. Thanks! You've been so helpful.
  16. Thanks! Too bad the stores don't have a sheet out so that you can feel and see the paper in the packs before you shell out money. lol
  17. Does anyone have a preference of paper weight for the paper they used in their brochures ( I've seen at staples alone a range from 32 to 48)? Also, do you personally prefer matte or glossy when you receive a brochure from another business? TIA, Jennifer
  18. I do alright with wickless, but I do not use glass. Reheating glass over and over again just does not seem like a good idea. In fact at the show I just did this past Saturday, I had a woman tell me about how a glass jar had broken on a warmer one time at her house. Needless to say I use tins.
  19. How do you know its out? I just went to the website and I can add it to my cart...did they e-mail you when you actually tried to purchase it? My understanding is that they blend the wax themselves and so there is no one else you can purchase from. But maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. GB415 by itself is 100% soy wax. However, a candle consists of more than wax unless unscented and uncolored. Plus you said with beeswax so maybe you mean your wax is 97% soy and 3% beeswax... Technically saying 'made with 100% soy wax' would not be deceptive but it could be confusing or misleading imho. As for how to say it better/clearer, that depends on why you are listing 'ingredients' on a candle and on what information you are trying to get across to your customers. HTH
  21. I've had plenty of requests, but have found nothing except a coffee warmer that plugs into a usb port on a computer. Which I find to be very dangerous
  22. I don't know exactly what you would put into it, but I can tell you what NOT to put in it. Do not use any variety of the following: mineral oil baby oil petroletum vasalineum (sp?) Any of these or variation of these do two things: 1) They make the salon owner angry because all of these can ruin the acrylics in the tanning beds. 2) The tanner will not see the results that they are expecting because these ingredients especially mineral oil actually 'strip' away a tan. Good Luck! and I really hope this helps.
  23. It looks like you had purchsed SS. Thanks for your input! The customer is only wanting an air freshener in this scent right now, thank goodness, but I'm sure that she'll want more if it is close enough in her opinion. Like glittergirl, I have never smelled the 'real thing' lol. You have all been really helpful.
  24. It does help! Thank you, it gives me something to think about. Now if someone has tried the one from just scent and can give me a comment on it, I'll be all set to make a decision.
  25. Anyone else? I'd really appreciate your thoughts!
