  1. Let us know how you like it. I haven't actually used it yet. I have been using atlantic sea salt which is quite common to purchase, and super cheap. I have a line of salt bars and am going to have one with pink himalayan, one with european spa sea salt, and one with the atlantic sea salt with some dead sea mud mixed in. Can't wait. But I have a ton of soaps to make before I can get to my salt bars.
  2. I found it at my local grocers. It looks just like the picture. Haven't tried it yet... still trying to figure out which soap I can use it in.
  3. Can you tell I am getting ready for spring? LOL
  4. Funny how the orange is nice on the top of the soap but sort of peachy colored on the inside swirls. I want that true orange color the same throughout the soap. Sigh...
  5. When in doubt follow the manufacturers advice on their product. Not all suppliers get their info right. I have seen it again and again. It often confuses people struggling to learn how to use a product correctly and efficiently.
  6. Sample 1ozers I toss. Its the 4,8, and 16oz bottles I recycle. Now that I like to mix my own blends they come in handy. A simple warm soapy water bath works. If the fragrance still lingers then a little vinegar rinse does the trick. Then I have new bottles to mix away!
  7. Haha! I keep a spreadsheet of stuff I want to buy. It just keep growing!
  8. Thanks so much! This may be the one I am looking for. Reviews say it doesn't A&D or morph either. I'll have to pick up a sample and give it a shot.
  9. I'll let you know how the orange 10x works out once I soap it this week.
  10. I think Old Glory uses premier wicks. Hopefully she will see this thread and respond.
  11. I'm always afraid my soap might stick in the mold. Anyway, I love how the flexible board just slides right out of the mold. Plus, its easy to unwrap the soap. Only problem is the line down the side. So I also add freezer wrap inside the lining so I get less of a line.
  12. I know. I have a hard time getting orange EO to stick in CP. I recently purchased some orange 10x which is supposed to be awesome in soap. I will be soaping it this week. But to cut down on expenses I blend my EOs with FOs for soaping. So was hoping there would be an orange FO somewhere that stuck even just a little bit. With a dab of orange 10x I would imagine it could be very nice.
  13. I do love the look of them. Maybe someday they will make a comeback. I love Jcandleattic's idea of large floating candles with 3 wicks. I bet they looked awesome floating in the pool.
  14. Anyone found an orange FO that sticks in CP?
  15. I love CS Dragons Blood and Nag Champa too! I recently got a sample of Peaks Sea Salt and Cocoa Bean and wowzer! I can't stop sniffing it! I am switching from Fillmore's Cocoa Therapy to Peaks. Must be the sea salt gives it that extra kick because it is a fabulous cocoa scent.
  16. That sounds like a good idea. If you have the type of blender that works. A coffee grinder would be perfect. I have a blender that crushes ice so that would work too. I used it for grinding a lot, especially herbs, oatmeal, nuts, etc. for soaping and cooking.
  17. You can still soap with it but the coarser the grains the more you will feel it in the finished soap.
  18. Scented with Daffodils from Fillmore Container. I just love this FO. It just screams Spring! and smells so realistic like you are in a field of yellow daffodils. The colors are Mad Oils orange crush and bright yellow raincoat at 1t PPO. They look a little washed out. The orange is not as true and bright as I wanted. A special shout out to JCandleattic for the tips on getting rid of the TD specks. Looks mucho better si??
  19. I already made 4 round molds from PVC pipe I purchased at Lowes. Got the end caps, stander phalanges there too. They will also cut your PVC pipe for you. If you make the wood molds they will cut the wood for you too. Great link JC! You can certainly save money making your own molds. My 4 18" tall round PVC soap molds cost me less than $15 total to make. I also bought some thin flexible cutting boards from the Dollar store to line the inside. Just roll them up, put it inside the PVC tube, let it unroll to fit the mold, and you are ready. Cost of 3 flexible cutting boards $1.
  20. IDK.... I think maybe it may have been just this particular batch of TD. As I was straining it I could see it was just a big pile of lumps and clumps of all different sizes. Straining definitely took care of most of them. I'm gonna unmold my soap this morning and see how well it worked.
  21. I don't blame you. Seems I am constantly getting requests for items I don't make. On the occasions that I do it turns out the buyer doesn't end up buying the full amount they originally asked for. So.... my policy is I don't sell what I don't make. I will only bring in a new product if I have numerous requests. It has to be worth my time and finances to bring in a new product. If it doesn't make financial sense then I obviously won't do it.
  22. Not sure exactly what you are asking.. a fragrance oil you put in all your waxes? or that you use a lot? or a favorite FO supplier you use a lot?
  23. Actually, lavender is not safe for certain individuals and especially not for use by pregnant women. I am not sure about nursing women but I would not even think about recommending it to one. OG is right, essential oils need to be studied for safe use in any application. Plus each application type has its % rates for different applications so you need to know these too. If you are going to sell oils for a diffuser you should also purchase the oils only from a reliable source that also discloses origin, purity, production, certification, IFRA info, etc. its much better, cheaper, and safer to use FOs especially if you are going to start selling them to the general public. Also, the oils typically need to be diluted with a carrier oil or DPG.
  24. For those of you that say my rose and lavender soaps in the gallery you know I am having a problem with my Mad Oils TD. Its been creating 'specks' in my otherwise beautiful soapies. So I actually strained it first, then added to my oils instead of my lye water. Then I SB'd my oils to emulsify and break down the TD. If this doesn't work I am gonna scream! Anyway, I made my Daffodils soap today using this method. So tomorrow I will see if it worked. Keeping my fingers crossed!
