  1. Check this search http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?srch=105&FORM=AS5&q=how+to+make+gel+pies You should find some info.
  2. I believe that refers to a candle warmer. You never know some people might put a wax melt/tart directly on a camdle warmer. I've seen and herd some stupid things people do. Wax melts/tarts are fine for tea light & electric burners as well as electric potpourri pots.
  3. You can go here http://www.candletech.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=getall&order=asc&sort=username Click on a name and see if they have a web site to go to.
  4. Here is some great info about wicks http://www.wicksunlimited.com/candle_wicks.php
  5. Here is some great info about wicks http://www.wicksunlimited.com/candle_wicks.php
  6. You got lucky! They must have had some in their wherehouse. But once it's gone it's gone.
  7. I have ordered from them in the past but their quality is very poor. Now things like pens, pencials, bags and such are ok if the price is better than you would pay anywheye else.
  8. Yes TV Guilfoil has them just not listed on their site. They will send you samples and their Customer Service is great. T.V. Guilfoil & Associates, Inc. PO Box 187 Solvay, New York 13209-0187 Phone: (315) 474-8771
  9. The so called water proof ink jet lables don't work with all ink jet inks. I use water proof vinyl labels and a HP printer. The ink will hold up to dry rubbing after 24hrs worth of curing. They will hold up to a slight mist of water but the ink WILL NOT hold up to porlonged use in the shower. So far my test resulst with Water Proof Vinyl Labels for Ink Jet Printers Very expensive compared to other lables Very bright white with a matte finish Must cure ink (ink is dry when printed) but must cure to be durable Ink is very vivid on these labels but fades slightly over time Adhesive is very strong and does not wrinkle on squeeze bottles Adhesive holds up great to prolonged use in showerMy next test will be with the Epson Stylus Printer with Dura Brite Water Proof Ink. I have the printer but not yet installed. When I get a chance I will post results.
  10. IMO I don't like wax on pine cones. I put straight FO in a spray bottle then spray the cones. The scent is stronger and lasts longer.
  11. You can also use plastic candy molds but DON'T pour to hot or you could or warp melt the plastic.
  12. Bitter Creek North or South has a great Aloe Body Wash, choose which one is closer to you for better rates on shipping http://www.bittercreek.com/ I did find quite a few in Florida but I don't know the quality. Maybe you can order a sample to try http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=bath+%26+body+supplies+in+florida&FORM=QBRE
  13. I haven't looked yet but you may find something in the camping section, luggage section, crafts or scrapbooking, just a thought. I do sew maybe I could come up with something that would fit a standard container on the market and make them. There is this http://www.thesage.com/catalog/PerfumeryTools.html?mmsID=ee8470fce40153180707ad6cf01a8039 but it is for oils only and is very high priced.
  14. Maybe broken down into 3 catagories Paffiin, Soy & Bath & Body, because FO is used and works different in all 3.
  15. The vinyl waterproof labels are the only ones I found that would work for a squeeze bottle. They do hold up quite well to water and squeezing, at least through the use of the bottle. I got mine here and yes they do cost more http://www.onlinelabels.com/material_vinyl_inkjet_labels.htm
  16. I started BSC sending samples I don't know if BCN sends them. BTW Charley is great to work with. I'm not a supplier but with my orders I send some kind of freebe with any order over $10.00
  17. I weigh & measure but not always correctly. As for candles I weight the wax but I measure the FO. I know FO is sold by weight. Is this wrong even though it works for me?
  18. See if I got this right. You would round to the nearest whole # and for a 4oz @ a 6-1 ratio that would be 3.5 & .50. For a 2oz it would roughly be 2.75 & .25 Is this right? Thank You Robin I will keep this info to figure out other recipes.
  19. I won't use them for B&B products. I do paint the lids pink or blue and pour baby powder candles in them for shower gifts.
  20. I get so confused with converting. What percent would 6 parts to 1 part be? Also how do you convert that % to oz's? I need a formula to use so I can always get my recipes right. Thanks for any help. Candle Man
  21. If you are using straight paraffin wax without any additives try only 1/2 teaspoon of vibar (103 for votive/pillar & 206 for container) per LB of wax. To much vibar will Lock the scent into the wax. Also like stated up your scent to 1 1/2 oz's per LB of wax.
  22. Like others said rubbing Alcohol will work also Orange Hand Cleaner with Pumace works too. Try a nail brush for your fingernails. Since this happened to me before I always wear Latex Gloves now when I use dye. Just a lesson learned!!!
  23. Sorry to hear about that. Yes you should drink more water and eat small snacks in this heat. My dad has to work out in this heat 8-12 hours a day. Since I use to be a nurse Pedialite, found in the baby section, has more electrolytes than Gatorade so it works better in these conditions. Hope he's better soon. Candle Man
  24. Yea I call them "YANKME" They yank the money out of your hand then give you in return a very poor quality and expensive candle. I buy name brand, cheep dollar store, Wal-Mart & gift shop/florist candles to test. I find that all the candles I have tested have some sort of problem from very little to no cold or hot throw to wax hang-up and sooting. Then I display the burned candles next to my burned candles. I lable where I bought them from and the cost. It just proves to my customers that my candles burn longer, completely and very little to no soot.
  25. Here are some sites I found (do a google search under How to Make Ear Candles) http://www.ear-candles.org/ http://www.innerlightconnection.com/health.htm http://www.usanest.org/ http://www.usanest.org/ A WARNING!!! from one of the sites I found "We do not recommend making Ear Candles at home. Most people are only able to obtain regular paraffin wax to make Ear Candles or processed Beeswax. Please DO NOT USE these products to make Ear Candles. The wax can and will eventually drip in yours or somebody else's ear - ouch! This is why the FDA and the medical community do not approve of Ear Candles. Poor workmanship has hurt our industry and has given Ear Candles a bad rap. We must be responsible for our actions."
