  1. I use ecosoya PB also, nice creamy votives and for me it works in 1 pour, I just have to make sure I press my wick pin down to get the bubbles out.
  2. hmm..he put the non electric burner thing?? I'll have to have him change that, there is no reason not to use one, it was just on the tart warning lables that we bought. I'll point out the gramatical errors aswell, hubby is very picky when it comes to little details like that. Thank you all for the compliments and suggestions, please keep them coming. We still have alot of products to add over the next few weeks. jldorrington, feel free to empty your bank account any time you like :D
  3. ok, hubby spent months working on this, and its finally up and running Let me know what you guys think! http://www.soyscents.ca
  4. We spoke with the owner of natures gifts today and he is having us send in several pounds of the defective wax for testing. He seemed very willing to help us. Will let you guys know how the whole situation turns out.
  5. This is giving me such a headache, even my tea lights won't work. I get my wax from Canwax. I am retesting everything now, and it looks like I am having to add a whole extra wick to get a proper burn here. My tea lights won't work either. I have 300 lbs of this crap to work through and am considering turning alot of it into clam shells and switching to the cb135, does everyone get the same throw with the 135 as they do with the pure, because I am loving the throw the pure gives me.
  6. OK, I finished finding all the wicking for my jars in August...poured off the rest of the wax I had in stock. I am using Ecosoya Pure. I bought 300 more pounds and started pouring stock from that aswell. At the same time, it got cold here. Now, all my candles are burnig much much weaker, some are even drowning. It's taking about 5 - 6 hours to get a shallow melt pool of about a 1/4 inch. (16 oz apoth, 4 inches wide) The ones that I poured from the august batch are still burning fine, they were of course poured in warmer weather. Has anyone had any issues with recent batches of Ecosoya pure. My other boxes of wax were over a year old. Or is it the room temp they are being poured in that is effecting the wicking. I have over 160 jars poured from this already and it looks like they might need to be melted down in the oven and repoured with a triple wick. grrr. any help would be appreciated.
  7. Yup I got a few ounces as a sample, its a really nice spicy masculine scent.
  8. Stupid FO discoloured on me and ruined my swirl. Oh well, live and learn. Made this just for dear hubby, was planning on the background staying white. Scented Muskoka Boathouse (cedar and saffon). Love this scent, hope hubby likes it too.
  9. Congrats!! Im finally converting mine, one day we ran out of irish spring, and when it didnt "magically restock" he was forced to use what was in the shower I just finished making him a special batch high on lathering oils since he complains it dosnt lather fast enough for him.
  10. Wear gardening gloves while pulling them apart too, this way you will have more grip and wont cut yourself.
  11. I am currently test burning jars, and have one that seems to be working with 2 sizes of wicks, I just need to decide which set of small quirks I am going to live with Wicking A is a smaller size, it reaches full melt pool after about 2 hours. (double wicked 16oz apoth) however, when we get to about the middle of the candle, it dies down a bit, the flames go down to about 1/2 an inch and the scent throw is still there, but not as strong. I like my candles to burn strongly, and am afraid if someone trims the wick, the candle will not work right. The wicks seem to stay at about 1/4 inch and don't mushroom. Also, the soy sometimes still stays cloudy in the melt pool while the candle is lit, as through its not getting hot enough. Wicking B is the next size of wick up. It is hotter, and reaches a full melt pool faster. There is a bit of mushrooming, and after about 4 hours, the candle does need to be blown out and trimmed or there is some light smoking. If it were not trimmed properly, the candle would not last a very long time, but I did marathon burn it for a bit and the flames never got dangerously high. The throw on this one was also a little better, I just feel it would smoke alot if proper wick trimming procedures were not followed. Both these candles burn fully with no hangup, I am leaning more towards wicking B, as I would rather slightly overwick then slightly underwick. I just wanted everyones opinions on what they would choose in this scenerio.
  12. I love it for my tea lights, could not get it to wick nicely in a 16oz jar if my life depended on it, and have since given up and decided to only offer soy jars when I open for business, as they are doing great. I either had the flame die out on me half way down, or had massive smoking. I havnt tried it yet in any other jar sizes to be able to give you a better opinion.
  13. Agreeing with grumpy here too, if the price increases by 40%, you are only looking at adding an extra .40 to .50 to the cost of a 16oz jar to cover this increase. Thats .20 - .25 on to an 8oz jar. Most consumers won't even notice or sneeze at that type of an increase, since inflation is pretty widly acceptable and expected in all areas now a days.
  14. becaue I finally got a few scents of 16 oz apoth jars to work properly. I have been trying on and off for months, finally gave up on paraffin and switched to pure soy. The vanilla one that is burning behind me is gagging me out of the house with no cure time.
  15. I call my supplier and let her know how many jars are broken , she credits my account.
