  1. I'm loving this wax too! Just out of curiosity, what wick do you prefer? I'm leaning towards ECO 6 in my 8 oz jar. But I like the CD's too. I need to order more wicks and not sure what to order yet! TIA Dee
  2. I'm looking for a pillar wax, tested a few but was not happy yet. Candlewic has a sale on 4144 and CBL 141. Anyone use any of these? And if so do you like them? Any comments? My money is running low to keep trying w/o any success. I'd appreciate your input, TIA....Dee
  3. Its beautiful! Rich looking. Did you spray krylon over the image when it was dry? I just started to play around with the decal paper. Wasn't sure how well they stay or if you should spray.
  4. I tried vybar in J50 once and it affected the burn of the candle. Didn't burn as well, don't know why but I didn't use it anymore.
  5. I tested with CD10 and liked that, but I also tested with ECO 4 & 6 and I liked the ECO 6 best so far. I'm going to do some more testing with the CD's but need to order more wicks now. I use a 2 1/2 inch salsa jar, 8oz. I just ordered some 16oz salsa's....wonder whats a good place to start testing wicks for that, any idea? I only ordered 12 of them. I've never really done any 16oz yet! I'd like to add a few for the holidays. TIA
  6. Thanks for giving me another FO supplier that I MUST try.... I'm going to try a few samples, I checked out the site and I like how each FO is described. Just what I need...but who cares! I love trying new FO and I love the fall and winter scents. Haven't decided what to try yet, any suggestions on "must haves"? TIA, Dee
  7. I'm by far no expert here! In fact I still consider myself a newbie going on just 2 yrs of making candles. I used J50 for most of my candle career but got tired of the wet spots. So I recently tried Green Leaf 70/30 blend. I have been testing it with different wicks and scents. In my opinion its the easiest wax to wick. Every wick I tested burned, had a good melt pool and scent throw. I tested a few others, but not that many, waxes that is. The 70/30 has no wet spots and a great throw. I think so far I like the ECO or CD wicks. Like I said, I have a lot to learn yet, but this wax is for me! And its easy to work with. Try it!
  8. Are they open for business or not, anyone know? I need some new hurricane molds and I got my last ones from them. Anyone know another place to get good alum. cane molds? I use 5x6 and can't find them. Thanks all, Dee
  9. Thanks Brenda, I really love the look of this wax, no wet spots! If I can just get the right wick now, I'll be good to go! Thanks much, Dee
  10. Sorry, I was in a hurry. It's Greenleaf 70/30 wax container blend. I use salsa jars, 2.5 circum. I'm testing this wax cause I am sick of the wet spots and bad adhesion with J50, even tho I love the HT with J50. So far I tried Z wicks and CD 10. But I thought someone said ECO 4 was a good wick for this wax. Anyway I have one cooling now, ECO 4, best friends FO, colored bluish green. This is a soy/par. blend. Thanks!
  11. It was posted on here about an eco wick for this wax, I can't find it now. Does anyone know what wick it was? I tried CD 10, not bad but I wanted to try the eco. TIA
  12. I just poured wildberry mousse in the 70/30....first time user. I used my reg. zinc wick and I will test burn it tonight at work. I also poured rainy nights in my J50, smells great. Haven't tried the satin sheets yet. I want to try some more FO in the 70/30 but want to test first. I like J50 and so do my customers, but I hate how it looks, gigantic wet spots that won't go away. I'm hoping not to have those with the 70/30. But if my customers don't like this wax, I'll suffer thru the wet spots and stick with J50. I had to heat gun the top of the 70/30, but I think I read on GL site that might be something you have to do, which I can live with. Any more comments? You guys are so helpful! Thanks much, Dee
  13. Dummy me! I don't know why or how, but for some reason I orderred 70/30 perfect blend which is green leaf, but I thought it came from Lone star. Don't know what I did. So my sample came from Green Leaf. They smell great oob, will test some in the next few days. Hope the wax is good, anyone use it? Sorry for the brain fart!
  14. another question, sorry! Anyone ever see a scent called Hayride? I thought I did once but couldn't find it again. I tried to mix my own last yr but I wasn't very successful. I used campfire, marshmellow and a few others I don't remember. I think I tried a dab of fresh cut grass. Maybe apple cider? Any ideas?
  15. What is it? I ordered 10 samples and was just wondering what you all think of their FO's. I never tried them yet! Is this another one to get hooked on? Xmas buttered rum sounded great and how about fig dolice? I got em coming, rainy nights & satin sheets and dogwood, honey graham cracker, any opinions? Thanks much! Dee
  16. sharyl...where did you find all the designs for the decals, thats beautiful!
  17. A friend of mine asked if I could do a photo cane for a 50th wedding anniversary, but no photo. Anyone ever do one? Got any ideas? I googled it and didn't come up with much. Maybe something trimmed in gold and the couples name and date of wedding? I'm lost on this one, any help out there? TIA Dee
  18. I tried all of my new FO and love them all. I was totally amazed that I really liked Dragon's blood! Very unique. Also, just wanted to let you know the recipe for the pumpkin crunch cake was very good. I made it for a party and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. So give it a try, easy to make too!
  19. I just got 9 bottles of FO from NG today and everyone smells great oob, can't wait to put it in wax. Pumpkin crunch and orange danish....awesome! I had no idea what dragons blood was like, but I like it too! I've never had a problem with any of their FO.
  20. Thanks to all of you! Your reviews helped and I made my order and it is being shipped today. Can't wait to try them all. I too love NG and I'm sure I will love these new FO's. Thanks again! Dee

  22. I'm thinking of trying these FO's, anyone have any comments on any of them? Best Friends Pumpkin Crunch Cake Amish Friendship bread Xmas Cabin Sun, moon & stars Hot orange Danish Dragon Blood Acorn Harvest Country Bumpkin Hilbilly Brew Or any suggestions? TIA for taking the time!
  23. I'm still looking for a pillar wax that I could learn to love! Anyone ever try this wax from NG? It's called pillar of bliss. I'm tempted to try it. Any reviews? TIA
  24. Sorry for driving you crazy...but I just thought I'd ask. When I over dip I use the 4045EP with a tiny bit of beeswax, heat to 200, dip it and then dip it in the cold water. When your as good as you are, Donita, people like me can be a PITA, I know. But I am sorry and never mind, I'll figure it out. Thanks anyway
  25. I've been making seashell luminaries now when I first did them, and put them in the over dip and then the water bath they came out shiny. But now I' am getting a dull finish. Whats up with that? I'm doing everything the same. Do they absolutelly have to be over dipped? I am adding fish and grass to the outside, does the over dip help keep them on? I like them shiny. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dee :undecided
