  1. When you make a cane and want to embed..say rose petals and use chunks so that they are close enough to the outside...are the chunks made of the hurricane wax or will any chunks do. I want to use the chunks to hold the petals in place is what I mean. Is it best to make chunks out of my 5055? Thanks...Dee
  2. There are experts on here that may be able to fix it, but I am no expert...and when that happens on my canes I peel the photo off, toss the wax back in the pot and start over. HTH and Good Luck!
  3. so far I poured Apple jack and peel....LOVE it! Med. Fig....can't tell yet, but seems to be good Plumeria....mild floral, which in my opinion is good, I hate strong florals Next I think I might try ocean breeeze or Chardonnay. Keep ya posted!
  4. Thats one of the first I want to try, I'll post! Sorry you couldn't order
  5. How about some ideas for all the xmas fo's, like Christmas memories, snow angels. You know the ones that aren't really just christmassy. I liked the one for xmas splendor--country splendor. Snow angels could be spring angels or summer angels? Any ideas? Oh..candy cane could be Peppermint Blast, how bout that one? Christmas Candy could be spearmint blast, lol. Or Candy Land.
  6. got my samples last night, just about all of them are great oob. Can't wait to start pouring some. Love Chardoney, Lime Cooler, Med. Fig....just to mention a few so far! This aint good, I see a big order going out in the next few days, gonna be hard to choose I'm thinkin' :undecided Anyone try any yet? Any favorites?
  7. good one Donita! But good question....do you stuff the gap pretty full or use the chunks? I tried with the chunks and the flowers still do not stay close enough to the outside of shell. I bought the insert for my size mold (5x6) I guess I have to start the practice route again. And I will!
  8. Hi Donita, I was hoping you'd jump in here and help this poor girl, I did my best but you ARE the best. How did I do? When I try putting flowers in they never show up enough on the cane, haven't figurred out why yet. I'm gonna try again & again. Thanks
  9. The inserts are opened on both ends and fit down inside of the outer mold. They leave only a small gap around the inside so you have room to put whatever it is you want to put in between. You pour wax into the insert and it goes up the sides (in between) You then lift the insert out slowly, a little at a time, so it won't stick to the bottom. Does that make any sense at all? :undecided It's hard to explain, and like I said....I'm by far no expert. Hope that helps a little anyway. Maybe someone else will add to this and be a little more helpful. But I'm trying...:smiley2:
  10. I think they use an insert for that type. I bought an insert but haven't tried that yet. Well, I did try it with rose petals but I wasn't satisfied with the outcome. Still working on that. It took me months (many of them) to get the photo's to my satisfaction! Lots of practice, lots of re-melts...but now I can get a good one on the first try. They're fun to do, hope your's comes out ok!
  11. I really don't know, I'm no expert but some on here are. Maybe if you took a little cooking oil and put it on a paper towel and just smeared it around very lightly, might work! Try it and see. Hope it works for you, let us know!
  12. Do you have spray cooking oil? Like Pam or something? That works. Also, I tried using a tea canister once and it would not come out at all...so I bought molds. You can peel the pic off and re melt the wax. Good Luck
  13. My fav. Maple Sugar (maybe) MSC I sell the most of...Chocolate Brownie...MSC
  14. I bought a slab of OK6228 to try pillars, they told me to use Z series wicks. The supplier said if you use a Med. size wick for a 3-4" jar use a L. size wick for a pillar that size. Well, I've done that and I am having to much of an edge around the candle. I read on here a lot of you use the flat braid wicks for pillars, are they better? I don't have any of those, but I can get some. I also tried a few rustics, but I'm thinking this wax is NOT good for those, am I right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks much, Dee
  15. NG is great! And so is Sexy as Sin from the same line.
  16. From what I understand, and I'm not an expert! The re pour should hot wax and don't pour so much that it will seep down the sides. Go just to the top of your wax. Does that help? And did you poke refief holes? Maybe one of the experts will tell you more. HTH
  17. I saw these somewhere and can't remember where, anyone know? They were just a small easter egg mold. Thanks, Dee
  18. Do they throw as good in parriffin? It seems most of you talk about soy with Candle science, I want to order some samples but was just wondering about that. Thanks much, Dee
  19. Can you make a rustic using OK6228? I just got a slab of this wax to try it out, so far I only made one pillar, but wanted to know if I can use it to try a rustic. Thanks, Dee
  20. Moonrose, I PM'd you with a few questions! Thanks
  21. I dont have many florals at all and I would like to add some really good ones, preferrably from one supplier. I need a good lily of the valley, any suggestions? How about tulips? I'm open for suggestions, any help would be great! Thanks much!
  22. someone told me she used to make candles in the empty legs pantyhose eggs. If that can work, can you make a candle in the plastic easter eggs? I'd love to try it, but how would you stick it back together? They would make cute little easter egg candles, but don't know how to do it, or if its possible? Any ideas?
  23. Great suggestions and thanks...but you are right, it doesn't have much of a scent at all. What is it good mixed with? Maybe some kind of fruit salad, don't know! But thanks anyway.
  24. What color do you use for watermelon? Thanks much!
