  1. I've always used powdered milks but I'm wondering if anyone has ever used UHT shelf-stable milk like Parmalat? Thank you!
  2. Wow.....sorry to hear that. Just to salvage you can soak up the oils and butters with a napkin or just pour off the top. Then remelt and add a little more base to what is left (obviously not to sell but for personal use). That way you won't waste the 2 lbs of base.
  3. You can always chop it up and add some coconut or olive oil. Better yet add more base to the original batch and repour.
  4. You'll need a scale or you can eyeball it, if you don't want to be exact. 16 oz is one pound of base. So for example if you are using 16oz of base you can add 5.33 oz of shaving soap. HTH!
  5. If load my soap with butters and such I put in a ratio of 1:3 shaving soap to regular MP soap base. It works wonders!
  6. Their Japanese Cherry Blossom is the same. I've ordered several lbs from GL and JBN and they are the exact.
  7. They emailed me again and stated they fixed the problem!
  8. Thanks, I emailed them and that is exactly what they said. Ctrl F5. Ok it worked
  9. Does anyone else have trouble with the screen size of NG's new website? I've tried the website through Firefox, IE, and Safari and each time I have to scroll across the screen to see everything.
  10. I use the square ones all the time for soap samples when I send out orders or when I'm at a show. Very easy to work with, highly recommended!
  11. I know this is an old post I'm replying to but......... I was just soaping and poured Citrus & Teakwood. It suddenly struck me...it's the same as Daystar's Quince! Has anyone else noticed this?
  12. I haven't see too much posted on WSP's crystal clear base. After trying numerous crystal clears including SFIC's, Stephenson's I'm amazed at just how clear WSP's is! I just finished making over 100 embedded logos with this and I'm very very impressed. I'm not too happy about the ingredients but as far as clarity WOW. Now I just wish WSP shipping charges wouldn't kill me!
  13. Make sure when you use the clear M&P soap in order to achieve a true black color. If you use a white base you'll get a shade of gray.
  14. I shrink wrap them but leave one end open so customers can smell them. It seems to work quite well.
  15. I emailed David and he said we can buy our oils from JBN, his sister Martha owns the company. I'm glad I don' t have to find replacements for GL's oils.
  16. I'm saddened! I loved their FO's and their customer service was top notch. I esp enjoyed that they were relatively close so shipping was never a killer. Brenda and David will be missed!
  17. You can get them from the web restaurant store online too. I sell 2 oz for $1.25 or 1 dzn for $12. I sell quite well with the dozen pricing. I call mine tarts and sell them online and at shows. I usually prepackage my holiday tarts in dozen bags so it's easier. If at a craft show I display in bins and people can just choose which ones they want.
  18. I order the Nutmeg from them, and have been for about three years. I like it and it works in my candles, straight and as a blend. You're right they are hit or miss but the Nutmeg is good with a paraffin or soy blend.
  19. I agree. I've been selling mine cups for about 3 years and they are SOOOo much easier. They sell quite well.
  20. I know I'm really late with the reply but I have the FO from Exotic Fragrances and it ROCKS.
  21. I've been using Wellington's Sugar FO for five years. It's great, no vanilla or floral scent.
  22. I too bought some Vanilla Stabilizer from WSP a while back and it had a bad smell to it that affected my M&P soap. I chalked it up to being 6 months old and threw it out. I ordered another bottle from WSP recently and it has absolutely no smell. I'm not sure if they changed their formula or what but this second bottle is great.
